Thanks, I will keep this in mind for my 18 crosstrek. Well explained 👍
Thank you SO MUCH! I spent so much time doing research on my issues and I found your video and it was the EXACT problems I was having. I was able to get the part and fix it. I’m so grateful to you for this video, because I was really afraid I was going to have to spend hundreds of dollars taking it to a shop. I got the part for $65 and it took about two hours to replace but it immediately fixed every issue I was having! This was for my 2019 Subaru Outback.
Could please share the link for this part. I drive 2019 outback facing same issue from last 1 week.
@@gaddampadmasai I bought it at my local Subaru dealership, not online.
@@samgraham8478 Thanks for your reply
What's the part number for the EVAP vent filter?
@@shiloh5199did you not watch the video? He gives it to you towards the end
Thanks for posting. I too was able to get the carbon filter out and replace it without dropping the rear diff. As others have said, if you back the car up on ramps, there’s enough room to wiggle the old and new part on the passenger side of the diff.
Thanks George. This helped me out a lot. Had the exact same issue. Was able to do this yesterday thanks to your video. Fyi you don’t have to drop the diff to get the filter out. I was able to work it out around through the space to the front of the driver side of the diff. Thanks again for the video!
Thanks George and Megan. George - big help in troubleshooting our Outback after it was driven through a deep puddle. Megan - also a big help, as I too found I could slip it out without dropping the differential (back wheels on ramps, 2018 Outback).
How did you work it through I’m like damn
@@monkeydewgaming1929 I thought it was impossible at first. A few thoughts... 1) get the hose off first so you can move it around and try all kinds of angles; 2) if you have the new one tn hand use that to see how you can it get up there (that's when I figured it out); 3) at different times I had the Outback's rear either on ramps or jack stands. Not sure if the suspension loading/unloading changes the angles between those two options but I was successful with the rear on ramps. Last comment - it was tight enough that with thin work gloves I couldn't get my hands up in there to get the bolts on/off; literally the thickness of the gloves just made it too difficult.
Just had a 2019 Subaru come in today with code 1449. Car had only 27000 miles on it. The filter is located on the gas fill pipe behind the rear fender liner. There was a huge mouse nest made out of home insulation blocking the vent hole in the filter. Doesn't take much to cause this code. Even a spider web over the hole can cause it.
Just cleaned my filter today full of dirt, I live on a dirt road and had my car for over 2 years and it barley gave me this code
I was able to do this replacement on a 2018 Outback without removing any additional parts/bolts. Just an FYI for the group
How?
I took off the hoses and elec connection. And maybe a bolt and it just shimmied out. I had to flip it or something. Apologies it’s been a minute. There is honestly nothing to it. The whole process took 20 minutes.
I was concerned that the finagling wouldn’t work in reverse but it did.
@@nathanjones4311 thank you!!!
Thanks 🙏
Sam. How dI take the yello clip out
Im sorry. George. Thanks a lot. How do I take the yellow clip out.
I have a 2014 wrx hatchback. And my canister is not there. Where is it? P1449 code. It sat for over a year in storage. Half tank of gas. Mice nest found on intercooler. Deep cleaned engine compartment. The "P1449 evap system clog detected (air filter)" came on, with only a half tank gas. I doubt its the evap.
Check the air filter located under the wheel liner, it can get dirt over time
How much did you charge for the job? I think I have the same issue. 2019 Impreza. P2404
Is thos the same for a 17 forester
Thanks George, what scan tool you are using in today video?
Autel
Is this also for 2015 Impreza?? Guy that code on my scanner. Ty
I have it on my 2012 Impreza--Gas cap replaced and the purge valve at the engine tested... It has to be back in there... above... the .... driveline..... Did you attempt this fix???
Hi there,
My Subaru Outback 2012 2.5i Premium Odo:210k kms produces shuddering .
It started with shuddering while I accelerate over 80 kmph and the idling was smooth that time. It only shudders when I touch the gas pedal. Even if the car is over 100kmph, if I release the gas pedal, the car settles and glides smoothly which made me thinking that there’s nothing to do with the tire, balancing, alignment or suspension.
Went to a mechanic, he changed spark plugs and transmission oil. It was smooth for the rest of the day and started shudders the next day.
Driving over a 1000 km , now it shudders the same plus rough idling and a rrrrrr sound from bottom of the car(probably right below the gearshift lever, but can hear only from outside)
Plus it shudders vigorously if I try to go over 80 and it do the same when I ascend a slope.
Front cv joint boots are slightly torn and the greese have leaked there.
What do you think it will be?
Did you ever figure out what was going on with your car?
I have a similar issues.
@@moonshadowforge97 cv joint changed. 35000kms down. Was going smooth than ever.
Now there’s been small vibrations coming back similar to the same issue.
Maybe I will have to change it again in another 3000-5000 km.
Rrrrrr sound was the heat shield. Wrapped it with gear clamp.
where is his place in legacy2010 please
I think I have this issue
HI
BRO I SENT YOU E MAIL LONG TIME AGO REGARDING AIR BAG COMPUTER SYSTEM STILL WAITING FOR YOUR REPLAY
Some people talk wayyy too much
How in the hell you pull back the yellow clip 😡🤬
Ridiculous, I wouldn't buy a Subaru just based on this filter needing replacement.
