Also make sure when you fuel up, you're using premium gas and see if your gas fuel light in on. Lastly, this could be an indication of a loose gas cap or issue with the gas fuel area/pump.
My shade cream mechanic told me I needed to replace the catalytic converter but it’s not making any great noisy sounds or anything so I didn’t necessarily read with that assessment of the guys is pretty good in every other way so I am going to try this oil change and see what happens
I had the same issue on Outback 2.5 y.2007 with 293k km. I changed air filter, checked air mass flow sensor and cleaned throttle body. After that, I did not see this check engine light again.
Anytime my 2009 Subaru's Check Engine Light comes on, it always sets off the traction control and cruise control. That is normal, and plus I have had it happen when the gas cap was loose. The next day of driving, it reset once I got the gas cap screwed back on more. Nowadays, I do not go anywhere after refueling and clicking the cap 3-4 times and it never happened since.

Guess what my friend I charge my oil and I don’t even move the car not even a test drive can’t believe just oil and filter clears the p0175 and p0172 codes🇯🇲😮
Changing oil was coincidental. The issue comes and goes on it’s own in my 05 Forester is doing this. The issue especially is it’s like the gas pedal is disconnected and it’s only letting me limp off the road with no rpm response to the pedal. The check engine light is on with cruise control flashing. I pulled off the road and turned the ignition on and off 5 times and it made it have power from the pedal again and would drive fine but cruise control is flashing and the check engine light is on. I lose power until I turn it off and on again a few times. This happened 3 times lately. I got home the first time with the lights on after finagling got power back and the next day it was normal again no lights flashing or on. Then it started flashing randomly with no warning and wouldn’t give any power again. Again I pulled off limping and did the ignition switch again and got power back but still have flashing cruise control and steady check engine. Then I tried turning the ignition off and on 10 times and the lights reset and were off again and it drove normal for 4 days and tonight it started flashing again and had to limp again and got power back and got home with the check engine light on and cruise control flashing. I couldn’t check the code because when I got the computer there wasn’t a check engine light on and it read no faults!🤦🏻♂️ Please help me I have extensive Emphysema and COPD and I can’t walk at all without having a heart attack! 😢 I know how to work on it I can do most jobs I just have basic tools though ❤😌🖖🏼🇺🇸

i think the oil change was a coincidence. With P0172 first step should be to clean the MAF sensor. Second Step Clean the throttle Body. Third throw a new air filter in. 4th step. Do idle relearn. This should do the trick.
Hi Rachel, just the P0172 check engine light code by itself can be caused by multiple things. This issue is open to multiple causes. Some people have said that it has worked for them and unfortunately did not work for others. I do believe it is worth a try.

I will try the oil change. It's been a bit since oil change and i haven't driven the car much either.

I got the engine oil changed on a Forester 2010 and a week later all these 3 signals appeared. Any idea why?
