  • Hi there!!
My name is Evita and I have decided that I am sick of wondering how the produce I consume was grown. I want start to paying a major role in growing a lot my own food. My hopes for the future is to have my own homestead where I can grow and store ALL of my (and my family's-not vegan) food.
I want to share my journey with everyone because I know I will make a few mistakes and some of you may be able to help me along the way. ❤
Please know that I am the only plant-based person my in family.

There’s always a couple of funky plants in the bunch 😂 Looks great to me, Sis! 💜

Yes water them, especially since the soil has begun to crack open. A deep water is better than a light sporadic watering.
Also, keep track of when you fertilize your plants. Over fertilizing can be harmful to the plants.

Yes the frow bags don't hold water like pots and especially like the ground. I have to water my plants almost every day. And if there in direct sun now you will need to water everyday

You should possibly be watering your plants daily. I could tell in the video that several of those bags were dry. The best way to tell is to stick your finger in the soil and see if it's dry or not. Go down like an inch or so. Also, bags dry out more quickly than raised beds or in-ground, etc. Good luck. 👍🏾

Thanks for the tips! I have been watering them every other day. The soil does dry out extremely fast here in the south.

That cucumber didn't get pollinated so it's dead. You can take that one off.

See I overwater so I don't want to tell you wrong, but since they are outdoors and you live in a typically hot climate I would water them daily🤷🏽‍♀️

Oh girl I know it 😂. I just moved from the south and I don't miss the constant watering 😂. I put straw on the dirt to keep moisture in the past. Have you tried that yet?

WATER, WATER especially when it’s high temperatures. Sometimes in the hot summer they may need water daily also. They need deep water down by the roots, not overhead or with a sprinkler! SC can get extremely hot and humid this time of year! If your watering becomes too infrequent, then you will get bottom end rot on your tomatoes and peppers! Those plants need to be checked daily when the weather is hot! Otherwise all your hard work and money will be in vain and you will have dying or diseased plants! I know it’s a challenge leaving your home to garden at your sister’s home. I pray that one day you will find a home that you can step out in your own backyard and grow food for you & family. Those plants needs to be inspected daily for insects, critters /birds invading your plants, watering, fertilizing when needed, moving them to shade when they get too hot ect It’s tough when your plants are at another location to keep up. But I wish you well, just going to be challenging but I know you are determined to be successful with your first garden, so you go girl! 😊🙌🏾❤️🥰
