- WOW! that is a LOT OF GOLD! In this video I process a bunch of ores I have collected over the winter to see what they all hold. These ore samples are; gold, gems and copper ores from many of my different claims. Some have very little, but some....... WOW!

81 year old disabled lady, loves watching your adventures, keep them coming, and good luck!
He’s such a goober, I love it. I literally don’t care about prospecting or rocks and such, but his unrestrained passion for it makes it a good watch
Agreed 👍. Hey could talk about bee 🐝 keeping and he would entertain 😉.
Yup, agreed. Dan's a beauty.
Agreed, his passion is captivating
It's all jolly, jolly interesting, and he is a super kind of wanna-be geologist. Obviously self-taught, but with a smidgen of formal education. All in all we grade him a C in knowledge but an A in entertainment. He's a super kind of chappie......I hear he was a founding member of ZZ Top and they based the entire band's image upon his original look.
He rocks!! 😊 The great thing is we do learn about different things. Have a great day😃
LOVED that shot of the Dream Mats, making the material swirl!!
Showing all the various facets of "prospecting" really informs folks like me who know nothing! It also lets those who think "I might want to do that" know exactly what they will need to do to be successful. They just need to watch everything to find out! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with us!! Awesome video!
That tumbling prep of the Serpentine is really class Dan. Way to think of the end user.
For some strange reason I love watching videos about things like this I have no clue why I just seem to love it
You love because dan’s personality is amazing his passion and his way of making videos is amazZzzzzzing….. i am in love with this guy. Very calming to see his videos. His voice is relaxing he is full of positivity, happy person, down to earth, i pray for this guy and beg to god give some of my life to dan. Prayers he stay healthy and safe there.
Love those tiny garnets. They're great for putting into resin and making small things like coasters, napkin rings, etc.
It's been years sense I've had gold fever...but here I am again itching for the next video haha. I gotta get out soon!
Got to love a 30min long dan hurd!
@@vondonks let the man live his life, if you don't like what he's doing don't watch it 🤦🏻♀️
"Worthless rocks" 😂 you obviously arent very intelligent
@@vondonks for what calling you unintelligent.? That's not harrassment or bullying, nor is it abusive language, it's an opinion, have a nice day:)
What does a Prospecter feel about Gold Bearing Ore?
He develops a Crush on it.
Ohhhhhh! Expert Dad level joke.
Boooo ;)
Great video Dan. In the past you and your dad cooked down the pyrite and smelted it out. Perhaps with all these pyrites you could do another series on smelting.
Beautiful country your in. And sitting on the banks panning your pickers. Living in Florida only gold you can find here is on the beaches where oiled up sunbathers loose there priceless goody's off their fingers & toes!!!
It’s so nice of you to tumble it for your customers 1st; it shows that you really care and care about a premium product!!!
I really enjoyed this episode, Dan! New intro, new dirt, new you! I love it when people can "upcycle" themselves as well as "stuff". 😁♥️🇨🇦♥️
I’m 25 and used to watch a gold show with my dad and this reminds me of those moments and honestly I love the knowledge and everything you put into the videos. Also doesn’t hurt seeing two shinning smiles in a video.
I went on your website, i know your a boss at what you do but i never knew the extent in which you are mining. You're an extremely, EXTREMELY gifted and blessed individual! I have always said, "it would be cool if you took on apprentices, i would work for free and make the move from Spokane too BC just too learn from you." I have no work skills and have a hard time aquiring anything, work wise, over minimum wage.. The only thing i am absolutely GREAT at is labor, if i had a mentor like you Dan, the possiblities are endless! Great video and thank you much for sharing!
Damn Dan!?!
Commercials?? Yes please.
Ads??? YES PLEASE!!
Sheeeesh
A bit much...
Very fun watching you process everything Dan! Hope you're getting better every day! God Bless ya!😊
I really like your videos Dan! And, when you collaborate with PioneerPauly. You all seem to have so much fun. I'm glad you are doing well. I wish the best for you and yours! Thanks for the knowledge and entertainment. Keep going!
Before I even watch this video I'm at 30 seconds I really hope your dad's in it because he's always in these crushing videos and that's cool
Saaaamammme
Serpentine is deadly it is asbestos do not mess with it deadly!!!!!
Same
@@timothychapman148 okay but why are you replying to this comment... has nothing to do with it
all those garnets make a great terrazzo flooring media !! gl hh
The OHS pixie is watching, loved the processes and the results, I am very envious.
You know, what you do, is a lot of work, but you keep it fun.
Dan, I believe this is one of the best videos in your channel man. What o liked about it was we got to see what equipment you use at the house to determine where to goto next and all the different types of ways to extract the gold and gems I’m sure the ones that don’t know how loves watching.
Thanks for the upload!
And the best crush..... was from the claim you let go!!! I shed a tear for ya.
Don't. I got good money for it. It was worth it. I am a prospector. That is what I do. I prove a piece of land so I can sell it.
This is REALLY incredible. Some AMAZING finds there. Thanks for sharing Dan!
Dan, are you just living your best life? Hope you’re well and the recovery is coming along fine, remember the kids can do the heavy lifting 😂
Hey Dan! This was a great video showing the processing of different materials. Looking forward to seeing what you find from the dream claim. Big ((Hugs)) from Texas! xx : )
That mini crusher does a darned good job!
Looks like a good way to enjoy nature. And finding little more nature than you expected.. As you slip away with a big smile on your face.. ;-)
Your gathering skill level is over 9000
Dan's the best I'd do anything to spend a week prospecting with DAN
Thank you Dan for all the ways to crush different kinds of material an learn to get gold.
Very nice! Man I haven’t seen your vids in quite some time now and I tell you the truth…. Your production quality is waaaaaaay through the roof better than back in the day.
I watch because I miss Canada and the way people speak.
Well that and the gorgeous stones!😁
Well, you got some answers and got some house cleaning done too! More room for more samples! Yea!
thank you for firing up my gf's interest in gold and jewel panning . she wants to get quality hiking boots and plan a trip to remote sites around B.C. hope to see you around the okanagan soon .
Loving all these recent uploads, in a world post covid vaccine where im struggling with some really awful side effects still 3 weeks after I had it, videos like this really help relax me. thanks so much for all your work in putting these together :-)
This should make you feel better...

GOTTA S-E-L-L IT. DAN'S NEVER FOUND MORE THAN A HOBBY HE LOVES.
I actually just asked on another of your videos if you had one about this. Haha
Your videos are really fun to watch. You have such excitement and wonder for this stuff, but you also approach it practically and intelligently. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us!
Lovin' it! I'm now in toasty Florida so I'm missing my black sand cleanups. ( Maine) Thanks!
Thanks for sharing so much info Dan👍🏻 Nice results⛏🏴
Love the vids. Always enjoy watching you treasure hunting in your own way. I'm fortunate enough to live 20 minutes from the rocky mountains of alberta and I'm always looking down whenever I'm in the creeks and mountains. I am definitely stopping by your shop if I'm ever heading that way again.
the vivid blue and green azurite and malachite in that white quart are so vivid!
I stripped my A-52 and put gold hog mats in along time ago and I love them. I also made a high banker attachment for it w/3700 GPH. They love the fast water, also have a multi-sluice.
Wow! Its so much workk ….. gud u r doin it n enjoying it wid video and letting us be part of it …… big work! …
I need Bobby Duke to collaborate with you and show a super cool serpentine carving 🤣
The Beard is growing in nicely buds!
Me and my son went fishing today, loaded the entire bottom of our hand pulled wagon with stuff that looks gold bearing to crush.
Giving us a 2nd hobby to compliment the 1st hobby 😁
Love your vids bud. Gave us something new to do for fun
That is awesome!
As always. Another great video. I always learn something new. So much information to take in , I'm going to have to watch it twice!
"Gold Owl Mats". Thanks for the give aways!!!.....
Wherein Dan engages in the process of showing his processing process.
Yes, love the material he finds in this material. Great vids
A young man once told a knowledgeable business owner that he will work free of charge for 3 months, if at the end of those three months he wasn't offered a job they would part ways as friends having shared the knowledge of applicable life skills. I would love to be Dan's apprentice.
Great episode looking forward to your next one!!!!
Digging the new intro!
Gold seekers are the most optimistic people in the world I like your channel thanks for sharing
Amazing Gold! Thank you so much for the wonderful video of teaching so much to us! 👍 👍 👍
A beautiful watercolor paint is made with serpentine by Daniel-Smith. It's one of their Primatek series made with actual minerals including, amethyst, lapis lazuli, and garnet! Check out reviews of these paints. Thanks Dan for showing these fantastic places! (and the GOLD)
I SINCERLY THANK YOU FOR SHAREING UR KNOWLAGES & SHOWING SOME OF UR EQUIPMENT AS WELL..BLESS YOU. .I ENJOY UR VIDEOS MUCHLY.. ( I AT THIS TIME AM BARELY SUPORTING MY OWN SELF...ALL I CAN DO IS WATCH WHAT UR ABLE TO SHOW..)
Hi Dan. Great video. Please stay safe and healthy and take care of yourself and your family members. To all members also. Talk to you later my friend. ☺☺☺😇😇😇
Dan when you talk about old videos would you please make annotations in the video so you can click on the video. It make it so much asier to watch more of your enjoyable videos. Cheers!
That was an awesome video . The gold !!
I like the new music too
Wow, great gold!
Thank you for sharing your process. I always learn something!
Hey Dan, I love your content.
Rock nerd here- be careful with that serpentine. Serpentine carries a significant asbestos content that is released when agitated or tumbled (certain types are almost pure asbestos)
You REALLY don't want that in yer lungs.
Fortunately, serpentenite fibers are curly as opposed to straight, and are therefore less deadly than classic asbestos. I still prefer my air rock-fiber free though.
Man, if you and the dude from MBMMLLC joined forces... no speck, fleck, picker, or nugget would be safe!
Agreed I watch him also and man he has so cool stuff 😎
All that work and I'm not even tired LOL.Super video thanks Dan for all you do. David out
I thoroughly enjoyed your video. I felt like I was with you. Music was energetic and fit perfectly. Thanks, You rock Dan!
Sorry if you cover this in a video i havent seen, I’m disabled and in Australia so no competition to prospectors. I have always loved fossicking though and these days its impossible for me expect watching videos like yours. When watching videos where gold is recovered, its usually a video of panning and maybe using tweezers to pluck larger pieces out of the pan into a container. And los of shots of fine grain gold or even floating dust in the pans and at the end of the video they hold up a small bottle of the days takings, which is clearly very pure gold, not gold rich dirt and its dry too to show it moving around in the bottle. You know the shot i’m talking about. What nobody shows though is how to go from a well panned sample which obviously isnt 100% gold, it still has grains of other stuff in it to the “money shot” of bottle gold. Whats the process to get highly concentrate pan result to whats in the bottle? Is it just panning to the best you can? Maybe switching pans, do you put on magnifiers and hand pick each gold speck over hours with tweezers? Do you tip into filter paper and oven bake dry and then hand separate gold from non gold under a magnifier? There’s obviously steps involved between “look at all the gold in this pan” to “look at all the gold we collected today in this bottle” probably a lot of hours of boring work but i’dd be interest to know or is it some magic trick process you folks keep secret to stop others competing with you?
If only I had Dan as a teacher in high school I would have deffently gone a different route in my career!
Right in time before work. Sweet, thanks Dan
Wow, Dan you have a lot of "hardware" and a big pile of ore samples.
Thanks Dan! 👍😄
You are looking well, Dan. Praise God for that! Please don’t overdo it while you get all your strength back. God bless you and yours.
I think Mick has some star power....you ought to start producing videos with just him and double the videos.....I’d certainly watch both
For different variations of serpentine, you should take a trip out to Northern California! The Paradise area has a lot of serpentine with many different color variations
Ooo this video was so much fun to watch! Thank you
Thanks, Dan.
Genuinely Amazing the true knowledge and willing to share with others. Blessed to have him as an instructor. May God continue to bless all you do.
Beard is growing back nicely Dan
Thank you. You always show me at least 1 new thing . That alone is worth watching. I said at least... I always learn lots and fave fun. 🇺🇸✌️
Great video Dan Thanks 😊.....😇
This guy speaks my passion.
You got my subscription today. I like your enthusiasm and how you show us how it's done. Ty
Enjoyed immensely, thank you. Could you do a quick video on the regulations and requirements ,stipulations to securing a claim. If you have, please mention the link. Thx.
Great show today. Really made my day saying all That Garnet.
Dan I’d love a golden nugget necklace charm, not sure of it would hold up or be too soft but a rugged nugget would be sooo cool to wear!
I use a spinning drum style concrete mixer to tumble maybe it would be more efficient for you to try?? Definitely not like high end but.... toss some milling balls in and you can really work material
Yep the last one was the best one very nice ✌️
"I should be fine" famous last words before every construction accident. Dangit Dan.
This is a great video. I can't wait to see the Sluice Goose Gold drop. Thought you were going to show it today......but I can wait. 😁😁😁
He did that video already, checkout his video list I think it was the last one before this
Correction it was a week ago currently the 5th video in his list
You're such a good creator 20 minutes go by 5 minutes you deserve 1mil
Your gold harvesting is so entertaining !
Do you ever talk about the economics of your prospecting? What it costs you, who you sell to? Not necessarily a how to, but maybe an understanding of why it's as much hobby than business? I'm curious about things like the Garnets, because they look like so much fun to harvest, but what do you do with them beside the bags?
You can sell them to different companies and even Craigslist or Facebook for hobbiest to make jewelry or other items out of. eBay is also a good place to sell them. There is a lot of money in selling the cheaper gems but you have to sell quantities of them to make good money or figure out a niche like the grab bags like Dan has. Good luck! 🙃
Dan that's what i really enjoy about your show you go over and above to show a lot of.the work and not just fluff. You.look well hopefully you don not over do it thank for your hard work with out.this i wouldnt get to.see.that kind of terrain i can no longer walk on that. .stay well.
I am Japanese. This video was very interesting. Please do your best to post the video! !! !!
Loved the video Dan! And the rock tumbling. Where did you get the tumbler from?
You always keep me entertained..
You had me at massive amounts of gold!
Mr . Hurd, do you have any concerns about the asbestos in the serpentine? I am from a county with loads of serpentine and it is used as road base everywhere. On forest service roads they have a regulation stating its only allowed on unimproved roads if the traffic is below a certain number because of the free flowing asbestos in the serpentine.
