1) Sarah is suspicious about Claire's letter because Claire has found a fantastic boyfriend. Though Claire is so picky about boyfriend. Also, Claire didn't have normal relations for ages. Claire didn't have a single date.
2) Sarah told Simon about Vienna. Sarah and Simon were excited when they googled the pictures. Simon would like to explore that old castle ( Hohen-something) by himself.
3) Sarah and Simon decided to visit Vienna. And also they want to meet to Claire.
4) Sarah wrote that her little brother's unusually depressed these days.

1. Sarah found Claire's letter unusual and excited to read due to current possitive thoughts in it.
2. She told that She and her fiancee who loves Historical sites are fascinated by pictures of Austria and Vienna.
3. She wrote that they're going to come there in a few weeks. They won't be waiting untill their honeymoon.
4. Sarah asked Claire for a permission and a favour to take her little brother with them to Europe as he got depression so perhaps Claire will be able to get him to talk as they had been always getting along with one another.

1. Sarah couldn't believe that Claire had written the letter. Claire is always so picky about boyfriends but in the letter she wrote that she had found a fantastic guy. It is suspicious for Claire's best friend because in the letter Claire sounds like a completely different person.
2. Sarah and Simon googled the pictures of Austris and they realised that it is something out of this world. They were amazed by the photos and Simin confessed that that would like to explore Hohensalzburg by himself.
3. Sarah said that her fiance offered her to visit Vienna at Thanksgiving. Sarah also suggested Claire and her boyfriend Erik to be their tour guides during a trip.
4. Sarah wrote in a letter that her brother is unusually depressed those days and asked for permission to take him to Vienna. She also asked Claire to talk to him when he is in Vienna. because Claire and Jack never had problems with talking.

1. He confessed that he is excited too. Могу ли написать was вместо is, опираясь на согласование времен?
2. Тот же вопрос относительно ...there IS no need to wait until... есть ли смысловая разница между использованием is и was в этом предложении?
3. You didn't have normal relations for ages. Могу ли использовать past perfect в этом предложении?
4. почему у couching нет неопределенного артикля?
5. Как понять когда ставиться It, а когда This?
1) да, is можно заменить на was
2) смотрим на согласование.
Самый классический способ - вы изначально выбираете время в качестве основного, и дальше уже подстраиваете всё относительно него.
3) Но там же прямая речь, зачем past perfect?
4) зачем он там? Это понятие, а не предмет
5) по наитию в большинстве случаев

Спасибо большое за прекрасные уроки практики! Была бы ещё озвучка носителем (либо же вашим голосом) целых текстов, появилась бы ещё дополнительная возможность тренировки на слух. Кстати, озвученные фрагменты можно было бы распространять платно. Я бы с удовольствием купил....

Возможно, я ошибаюсь но с (is) я понимаю это предложение как (это что то с мира сего) но смысл этого предложения (это что то не из мира сего).

Claire always was picky about boyfriend, and now she has finnaly found such a fantastic boy and wasn't afraid to enter into new relationships, maybe it's because a man is really good. Sarah was surprised because probably hadn't seen Claire so happy for a long time. Claire used to told Sarah about her love problems a lot, about her worries, but now she writes that her life has changed, is getting much better , she has a nice job and good new people have appeared in her life.
2. Sarah told that Simon and her had googled pictures of Austria and were both impressed by its beauty and when Simon saw tgat Sarah was very excited, confessed that he was excited too and suggested not waiting for their wedding and having a vacation at Thanksgiving.
3. Sarah hinted that they would be in Vienna in a couple of weeks by asking Claire with her boyfriend to be Sarah and Simon's tour guides- that way Sstsh announced her plans anout coming to Vienna
