Poland is amazing !! Thanks to CZcams, now I know so many more things about Poland 🇵🇱 I've always been wanting to visit Poland, but I didn't know this much of Poland ,or how really beautiful Poland was/ is !!! How Poland progressed / advanced within the last decades is really intriguing/ incredible !!! 👏 👏👏👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶🚄🇵🇱💕💞
I am in poland right now, im about to leave but poland is relaxing out of the city and fun in the city.
Oh yeah !! I am super jealous of you for being there !! Which part / city of Poland did you visit ? And which one of 'em do you like the best !? Thank you so much for your reply !! Have a safe trip !! 👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
Actually, pkp does ticket pricing a little differently. The price is not dependent on days till departure, but on how full the trains are. There is a base price and an empty train has a 45% discount. The fuller the train gets, the smaller the discount becomes (30%, 15%, 0%), until it reaches the base price.
Took this service once between Warsaw and Krakow. Excellent train. Something that should be replicated throughout the country to all major destinations in the country and beyound.
Poland has the most advanced rail system in the whole Europe. And also the cleanest of them all
Even if I am Italian and love the Freccia, I must agree.
Nice, clean train 👍
You covered everything. Thank you very much for the info!
Central Europe desperately needs dedicated high speed lines.
Yes if this train was on a dedicated line it could really show its full potential
@@Simon-Andersen There will be high speed line shortly between Warsaw, Wrocaław and Poznań, through my city, Łódź (including tunnel under the city). First stage should be U/C next year. Also, line between Warsaw and Kraków should have parts at 250km/h in 2 years time.
More likely in three years but anyway 😁
@@Simon-Andersen This line has an operational speed of 200 kph on some sections, so it's a pretty good standard. The fastest EIP go 2h 32min from Warsaw to Gdańsk (327 km = 125 kph on average)
I'd say we need to make it more reliable (less delays), and re-open many lines/stations closed in 2000s. But higher speed is always nice 😀
Beautifully. In a short period of time, PKP has changed beyond recognition... All of Poland, too... Best regards
I was comparing it to the equivalent Bucharest to Constanta line (also linking the capital with the largest sea port and also the "best line in the country"). Quite different. There there are only 2 tracks, not 3 like here. Trains go max 160km/h, not 250km/h. But the biggest difference I guess is that the actual stations are not as renovated as the polish ones. Good job Poland.
Romania could really use some infrastructure upgrades on it railways, even bringing them up to around 160-200 km/h for long stretches would do wonders
@@Simon-Andersen I think bringing them over 160km/h requires a large investment as you have to completely re-think your signalling. You can no longer assume that the train driver sees any indication on the side of the track.
The trains go 160. That's already pretty good - please don't always negatively look at your country, we didn't always have what we have in 2023.
The tracks are prefectly fine for speeds of 250km/h the only limiter to this is the signalling which is not good enough to manage those speeds.
Since 2021 speed limit on about a third of this line is 200km/h.
ECTS, eh? Nice.
Thanks for the video
1:28 these are SKM ticket machines, pkp ticket offices were shown on the sign when you was entering the tunnel
I enjoyed the movie, time well spent
Thanks Jacek :-)
Nice video:)
Thanks 😀
2:46 the tilting technology in this train is what Fiat (edit: Fiat Ferroviara) bought from the never to be completed British APT, the follower of InterCity 125
Hello, thanks for connecting and reaching out. I am surprised to receive this video? It would have been good for you to contact me sooner. Several years ago.
hello Simon! Takk for videoen. Jeg skal ta det samme tog neste uke fra Gdansk lufthavn til Warsawa.. Jeg skal bruke google maps og denne er anbefalt som rute
Jeg håber du får en god tur 😊
Thats strange because I took the same train a few weeks ago and actual travel time was 30 minutes shorter.
Maybe there were some trackworks when I took it
3:08 the open door😂😂
Take a closer look. The conductor is standing in the door making sure that noone is chasing the leaving train.
Were those tables in the café car shaking and making all that noise..?... Or maybe I'm wrong... But, beautiful train either way...
I'm not sure, could also maybe be amplified a bit by the less good stabilization on my old camera.
11:19 Bro that locomotive is so rare!!! its an EP08-01 it recently burnt down but i hope it will get back on rails
Ah nice catch then! Shame to hear it burned down, lets hope they can fix it :D
@@Simon-Andersen GOOD NEWS BECAUSE IT JUST GOT BACK!
I wonder what maximum speed this modern train is capable of un disturbed.
250km/h
The highest speed during tests in Poland was 291km/h
Good but I really miss economy class reviews here. Do you guys think that everybody can afford first class tickets?
Thanks Pedro, I try to do a mix of both on my channel 😊
@@Simon-AndersenI love both !! Comparisons ,too ! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
Where did you find information that Gdańsk is 4th largest city in Poland? Gdańsk is 6th....
1 Warsaw
2 Kraków
3 Wrocław
4 Łódź
5 Poznań
6 Gdańsk
Wikipedia list it as the 4th largest metropolitan area, possibly that includeds sopot and gdynia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gda%C5%84sk
@@Simon-Andersen Only you are not saying that you are traveling from "4ft largest metropolitan area" but "4ft largest city - Gdańsk"... Either way Wikipedia as a solid source of information? Really sorry to break it down to you, but it is also not 4th metropolitan area. I could bring you here some docs, but those would be in Polish. However by size it goes like WARSZAWA 2702mln; KONURBACJA ŚLĄSKA(SILESIA) 1990mln; ŁÓDŹ 0,760mln; KRAKÓW 0,756mln; TRÓJMIASTO(GDAŃSK) 0,748mln; WROCŁAW 0,690mln; POZNAŃ 0,565mln
@@tydzienwpiguce5420 You data are wrong. Kraków is now much bigger than Lodz.
@@2mek99 first of all, if you want to lecture me check you grammar. Seems you have no idea what "is" and what "are". Secondly I took my data from sources. You just came here to play smart. So either present data (Wikipedia is not a source and if you claim it is, you clearly are victim of Polish education system), or leave it to someone, who made effort and checked data.
@@tydzienwpiguce5420☝️🤓
What is needed to get a higher average speed on this line?
@@ncard00 I mean possible expected investment on the line to make it speedier. Barely more than 100 kmh on average is too slow.
@@etbadaboum ETCS, and an approval from railway transportation dept. I guess.
@@etbadaboum we have stupid railways and stupid chiefa of PKP trainlines. There is still community inside. The channel called KURACYJA is making movies avout all tragic catastrophies and accidents with Polish Trains. And always is the same thing. PKP dont took any lesson of the accidents.
Our railways are old and not modern. Its not prepared for hogh speed. So polish the fastest and modern train called: Husarz (Means winged hussair) are sell abroad
The most important thing is electricity - Krakow-Warsaw line is ready for 250 km/h but the electricity has to be renewed to get higher speed than 200 km/h. We will be able to do it in about 3 years
