so this seriously just happened listening to this conversation in the background while doing some work:
"people with very strong narcissistic traits struggle with being vulnerable to others because they're perfect, they're flawless."
[video cut to ad] "I LOVE PEOPLE WHO ARE 29 DOLLAR DONORS MORE THAN I LOVE THOSE BIG DOLLAR DONORS..."
    it was a trump ad.
i thought for a split second the video was providing an example.

True true. Trump is a grandiose while Biden is covert NPD.The first one you can see a mile away while second is the one you can't really see right away.

I highly recommend the movie “Seize the Day” with Robin Williams and Jerry Stiller. To me, this is the best depiction of a person with this personality disorder I’ve ever seen. I’ve watched it a few times and to me, this movie is packed with information about this condition. To me, this is evil in our world that’s just not acceptable or a good sign.

For me, the issue is the path of destruction left in the wake. I suppose there is some sympathy for the person but its short lived. It usually seems they have plenty of chances to find a way out or do the right thing but they dont. Even then, sometimes you can just figure out what the most selfish thing they would do and predict it. The ones i have run into who are the worst are the ones who create problems to destroy others. I find those to be the avoid at all costs types...

How do you balance when your person is aging and health down sliding rather quickly. Relationship with them becomes much more subservient because of their needs. We’ve only been together less than 2 years, so not a lot of history.
