I'm thinking about installing a clear clutch cover, like yours. Looks amazing. But what do you think about the increased sound from the motor? Is it much louder with the thinner side-cover which is less sound isolated? Is it annoying or akzeptable? So is it worth to install the clear cover in your view? Thx in advance👍

I love KTM SDR and the Ducati Streetfighter but for me, nothing beats the sound of an in-line 4. It’s music to my ears. The twins will always have their appeal, and in many ways they probably are better bikes all round but the deciding factor for me at least, is noise. I don’t need to be the quickest, I just want to enjoy hearing the engine and exhaust sing their symphonies in harmony.

Great video. Thanks for posting. One comment: the s1000r and tuono have essentially same dyno power at rear wheel (approx 155). Google dynos to verify.
Yup. In a video comparison I saw recently the new S1000R was only 3hp below the SDR 3.0 at the back wheel.
Yes stock they put about the same rwhp but Tuono is a bigger gainer after ECU flash, Also there is tons of power you can gain if you replace the airbox and velocity stacks on the Tuono 1100 for 2017-2020 rsv4 airbox and velocity stacks. up to 175-180 rwhp.

@@Fearless154 yes the Tuono may gain, but in some countries you go illegal with the ECU flash... "vehicle loses approval and insurance protection".
The best legal way to have more power at the back wheel is to sell the Tuono and buy a SF-V4S.
Actually they're some dynos where the bmw puts down 164whp i feel like bmw underrates their bikes like their cars in HP
Interested to know if you do the brentune stage 2. Ordering my s1k (might do the m so it is stock akra vs. Having to buy and install but we will see) and will want to kill the flappers and flat spot.

I used to own a 2014 monster 1200. It's a clunky bike to ride, As much as I don't like BMW bikes I think it's a much better bike overall, It not as high quality as the monster but it rides better.
Although I agree with you that the s1kr isn't comparable to the v4s, I want to hear your feedback after you get a full exhaust and tune on the s1kr.
That is true in a perfect world, but once you own a sfv4s you will know its flaws and how clunky the engine is.

@@CaliMotoTV I think because the Ducati Brand is a status, only the privileged buy them.. and usually those ppl can’t ride bends/circuits and just straight line lovers - I’ve also owned a 1299 in the past.
I love both my Duc and S1kR. The ducs being pretty pricey is their downfall. I got pretty much every available option on my s1k (m package, carbon wheels, carbon package, billet package, comfort package etc etc) and it came in at the same price at the SFV4S. I still say the handling goes to the S1k. It is noticeably lighter and is sweet in the turns. Would have been nice with an extra 20-30 hp though. Doing the brentune this week so hopefully will add some numbers to it.
On the BMW, Did you tape the headlight or is that a cover?
It's vinyl.
I wonder if it's better to get this bike with the fixed suspension and then just have at it with their extras but ditch that ddc and put that money into better suspension components. I hear its expensive and annoying to get rid of ddc after the fact, as per forums at least.
That said, there's the argument that perhaps the dynamic setup as tuned by bmw is probably good enough for 90% of the situations and you always have the option to switch to road mode for the chill long distance/bumpy rides if this is your 1 bike to do it all
how would you compare the s1000r to the v2 since they are closer in price ?
The Panigale? Completely different riding experience. The streetfighter V2? TBD.

The BMW is like the butter face nice girl who will make you a ham sandwich. The Streetfighter is like a hot model who you are just happy that she lets you take her for a ride.

@@pavelpetrov9626 My opine is the BMW is kinda bland like a Honda, does everything well but no personality. The Streetfighter is best on the road with brutal power and manners and the Aprilia has more finesse carving up the track. All will fit you though, you can't go wrong with either.
@@pavelpetrov9626 only and best way is to go for extend test rides. better do a rental over a weekend and use them. Then hear to your heart what to buy.

I’m confused…did bmw make s 1000 r in a M package in 2022? From my understanding 2023 is the first year for the M 1000 R and the numbers look to be right there with the v4s
Yes but it was just an M package on a s1000r vs it actually being an M1000r. It just gave you a few premium accesories vs the whole new shift cam engine in the M1000r.

Not really, the v4 SP(2) would be the comparison to the M1000R. The s1000r comp is comparable to the v4s.

V4s and 1ks aren’t even in the same class. Should’ve used a v2 for this review.
haha so the V4 it is then. Tried your best to not talk about the V4 while on the S1000R but it clearly doesn't give you the full experience that the Ducati does. I'm jelly of the track time, it has just been way too hot to do one here.

Nah the Apriliia V4 is still the king of best sounding motors out there. It’s got more anger, sounds mean. That’s coming from lots of other people’s opinions. But hay you’re bike sounds good too and so does my 1290r with the Akrapovic system. Lol
I own Tuono 1100 and I honestly think Ducati v4's sound meaner and better IMO.
@@Fearless154 yes. the SF 2021 is meaner than the Tuono 1100 Factory. Did comparison in real life over months, sold the Tuono (after five years owning some Tuonos) bought the SF-V4S. Driving (fast) feels more relaxed now. Hard to tell. I like it very much.
Why is this even shown as a comparison? The Ducati is in a completely different stratosphere. The SF S comes with full Öhlins suspension, Brembo brakes, 40 more HP, more torque and a V4 engine that has tons of character especially in the low to mid rev range not to mention historic winning pedigree in MotoGP and WSBK (more WSBK constructors titles vs any other marque). BMW ? An underwhelmingly whiny inline-4, has been sitting on nearly the same BHP figure since this arrived 8 years ago, recently done away with Brembo brakes (now using cheap American Hayes brakes), no Öhlins and rather video game cheap looking graphics package and paint. BMW has also failed miserably on the world stage if racing with zero historical impact in WSBK and no presence in MotoGP. The Ducati has the passion, the looks, the power and the pedigree hands down over the BMW.

Bmw still uses brembos and ohlins. Yes they're underpowered. But they dyno stock at around 165whp. Bmw definitely underrated their numbers. They're probably closer to 180bhp

The Streetfighter is awesome but in basically every comparison it´s cheating, it´s so much more expensive than the competition, even the base model non S model is more expensive than the S1000R, SDR1290, Tuono and ZH2
compare Tuono 1100 Factory ( 2020, 2021 models) with SF-V4S:
you have to extra buy a set of forged wheels.
with that, the Tuono is near in price to the Ducati.
If one sells a Aprilia, he will sooner lose much more money than with the Ducati.
So, what is "more expensive", if you take this in consideration?
