Semi-Epic Enclosed Sword Fight - Gaelic vs Chaos

- This is a recording of 3 double match enclosure fights (6 fights total) at a Sword Arts meeting in February 2017. The swords involved are the Gaelic Longsword vs the Chaos Longsword.
The fight is within a small enclosed box marked off to ensure limited fighting space. Since neither fighter can advance or retreat very far they have to execute their movements accurately and skillfully in order to not lose ground. Lack of proper distancing will get you slain or pushed out.
Side note: It would be awesome if someone rotoscoped the swords as lightsabers and slipped duel of fates on in the background. Just saying.

Yeah, the fight after that one he does pretty well too. Remains calm and then just exploits an opening with a clean strike. Pretty solid.
Yah he does very well, but he kinda ruins it with the spins, which is basically a worthless move XD

I did this with my friends and we have three lives and somehow battle lasted an hour and we swung with all of our might so if ye get hit it's gonna hurt

Yes. It would be different if it looked like that. If people train, gain active fighting skills, and the rules of the game promote ability as well as stats then LARP probably could look like that. Would be pretty cool.

Reminds me of machete fighting. Excellent speed. They both have some excellent technique, even if some of the moves look a bit too anime, they still pull them off
Their grasp of measure and timing seem pretty good even, but the bizarre back turning with no purpose just baffles.
@@Pretendeavor1337 The back turning is probably for a powerful and quick (Albiet obvious) slash upwards, we all know it's all in the hips.
turning into a cut both exposes your back and makes the cut slower because time was taken to make the turn. There is no sound reason behind it.

Fought in one of this contests at a fair, with foam rubber swords and where you could enact all those exaggerated movements. I'm about to start medieval fencing, but I think this style will remain the most fun, it is definitely the perfect balance between play, epicness and serious fight (with some degree of pain)

PS: I am just a beginner, I stumbled upon this video and decided to edit it and learn light saber effects at the same time. I only edited the swords of one of the swordsmen though due to lack of free time. Those were real skills not fantasy ones bruh. I'm not sure about that time stamp but, no one was hit in the face at all during the fights in this vid.

I know for someone it might look cringe but look closely this is a fight that actually aims to hit the opponent and not aim to hit the sword, each time they doing this activity the conclusion will come to that they really gaining real experience of getting slash stab or hit meaning they will know how to avoid it dodge it block it a good form and posture will form up and can convert to the real weapon.
Can't deny that this activity is really effective in what they are doing

I'm pretty confused since they kinda used some of the samurai basic sword martial arts. Not only that but they have great reflex, great anticipation makes it looks like they aren't ameturs. They kinda have a lot of opening which in the real fight that kind of mistake would've been fatal or less
It's always the leg sweeps or backslash with swords and staffs a surprise is always unexpected
