  • Striking Sequence 1:
It’s like shadow boxing with the sword. You can practice it alone. With this sequence you train the basic cuts 1, 2, 7 and 8 plus the hanging and footwork. Furthermore you train the hips rotation and the L-Step.

That Cold Steel Gladius is the PERFECT training sword... Double-edged, you don't actually HAVE to turn the blade after a cut, you can just backhand (reverse) your next angle, depending on what movement set you're working.

The sequence here looks similar to an Arnis sequence I practice.
    Also good video

Actually, the Gladius is the perfect sword (ie not just training) and the Romans used the short quick jab primarily...

have you got this in a segment by segment video, trying to watch the foot placement and sword movement, at the same time is very difficult for an absolute beginner.

How could you ever think the Roman sword was ever used in such a way? I am shocked at how much people don't know about how it was used in battle. You would have been killed in the first minute of battle swinging it around that way.

I'm shocked at how you failed to read the title. I'm shocked at how you failed to understand what the video is about. I'm shocked at how you assume this is about the use of a gladius.
