  • Welcome, dear viewers, to another enlightening journey into the pages of biblical history. Today, we delve into the captivating narrative of Elisha, a prophet of the Old Testament, whose life unfolded in a time when God actively engaged with the people and leadership of ancient Israel. Elisha, the recipient of a double portion of Elijah's spirit, embarked on a prophetic mission to guide Israel through religious reforms. Join me, Lucas Dário, as we explore the fascinating story of Elisha, the prophet of peace and healing, on this episode of Witnessing Jesus Christ and the Overflow of Sin. "What is the meaning of the name Elisha may have come from the Hebrew and Lixa as a result of the combination of the elements "El," meaning God, and "sha," meaning salvation, literally meaning "God is salvation." Elisha was a prophet of the Old Testament who lived around 800 BC, a time when God directly involved himself with the people and leadership of ancient Israel. During this period, God sent at least 30 prophets between the northern kingdom of Israel and the southern kingdom of Judah in an effort to turn their citizens away from idolatry and other sins. The prophetic mission of Elisha was to prepare Israel for new religious reforms.
In today's video, we will talk about Elisha, the prophet who received a double portion of Elijah's spirit. My name is Lucas Dário, and welcome to Witnessing Jesus Christ and Sin Overflowed with Grace, and there, there, there [Applause]. Beloved, I ask for help from all of you to subscribe to the channel and activate the notification bell. If you like the video, leave that like; it helps me a lot to produce more videos. Without further ado, let's go to the video.
Young Elisha, God who sees secrets always knows all his, and he had already declared to Elijah that there were seven thousand people in Israel who had not bowed to Baal during a very difficult period when Elijah was nearing the end of his ministry. God instructed him to anoint a young man named Elisha as his successor. Elisha, the son of Shaphat, was from Abel Meholah in the Jordan Valley. After years of training, Elisha would become the spokesperson for God in the northern kingdom, and his ministry would be filled with signs and miracles, proclamations, and warnings, making him known as the prophet of peace and healing.
Starting as a disciple, he was divinely guided by God to seek his successor. Elijah found Elisha in a field plowing on his father's farm. Elijah placed his mantle on Elisha's shoulders, a symbolic act designating him as the prophet. Without hesitation, Elisha accepted the call to serve, leaving the comfort of his family and home to pursue a less predictable life that would require personal sacrifice. He began his ministry as Elijah's student and personal assistant, showing faithfulness in small acts like humbly pouring water on Elijah's hands. Elisha's training under Elijah gradually prepared him for a role he would eventually fulfill alone.
The Bible mentions Elijah and Elisha revisiting religious training centers in Israel attended by groups of men called the sons of the prophets. Towards the end of Elijah's ministry, during a round of service among three of these schools in Gilgal, Bethel, and Jericho, Elisha's faith and resolve were tested three times. He was invited to turn back, but Elisha learned not to give up easily. Just as in his years of growth walking behind a plow, he was now engaged in a much larger line of work, and he would not be discouraged or distracted from his task.
Elisha, the successor of Elijah, on the day Elijah understood that his ministry was coming to an end, and Elisha would take his place, Elijah said to Elisha, "Ask what I may do for you before I am taken away from you." Elisha said, "Please, let a double portion of your spirit be upon me." The double portion is the portion that rightfully belonged to a firstborn son. Elisha asked for twice as much of Elijah's spirit as any of the sons of the prophets would receive. He wanted to be recognized as Elijah's spiritual firstborn son. Elisha did not ask for worldly honor or a high position among men; what he truly desired was a great measure of the Holy Spirit that God had freely placed upon the prophet Elijah. He knew he needed the Holy Spirit of God to stand up to the responsibilities that awaited him.
Elijah responded, "You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so."

The book of Ephesians tells us to speak only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs. Jesus give me courage. I’ve been struggling for the last three years. Being a single mother raising two children with special needs things are rough on me especially since suffering a heart attack two years ago and my on going battle with lupus. I’m overwhelmed at times Jesus help me as I struggle to support my two beautiful sons. I’m trying to balance everything on my own, but Lord I feel like I’m failing. I’m struggling to make ends meet, to pay bills, and to put food on the table for my children. Guide me Heavenly Father and give me peace in this world.

Peace be with you and your children. Let me help you understand something first and then test yourself later. Your message tells me you think you're a Christian but 99.9% of people say that but turn out to fall well short of the mark. You've said (and I do really sympathise) you're doing it all on your own with no help, you are afflicted by health issues etc etc. This said, God is on mute with you - at least that's what you think. I can tell you that God is never on mute and He is always watching EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE. God does test people in their faith, but you're struggling as you're not talking to God - having a conversation with Him everyday. You only ask for His help but offer nothing back that HE wants. You're treating God how you treat others. Your selfish, you do not help your neighbours as yourself. You blame others for your predicament and God. You feel sorry for yourself and seek sympathy and attention constantly (why you wrote your message) and give little thought to how others feel. If this has got you angry, then it's because it's all true but you still deny it. You want money to buy material things. You are miserable because you can't have them as the money has to go on the things you don't want to pay for. Put it another way, do you ever consider how much pain and suffering Jesus went through? What about His Mother Mary? No is the answer. This shows the two biggest things you lack the most - Love and Humility; the two things that both Jesus and Mary embody and are just waiting to give you.
Now you can see (hopefully) why you're struggling. Your version of being a Christian is like 99.9% of all the rest...it's compromised by the material gods you worship, You treat God like an idiot, you give little or no thought to Him in the day, you use Him as a last resort....and so the list goes on.
All the above was a description of me. You saw yourself in my faults so I'll tell you how I overcame. came to know OUR FARTHER.
      1. I prayed to Our Farther and asked that He help me learn about the life of The Blessed Virgin Mary.
      2. Through asking the above, The Farther introduced me to Poem of the Man-God by Maria Valtorta. My life was completely changed after this and just gets better and better. Listen to the book on CZcams.
All I will say is that individuals make the problems for themselves. God has nothing to do with man's mistakes. Do as I did and see how it all changes.

Almighty God, we pray for a renewal of strength for those feeling weary and exhausted from the effects of cancer. Lift their spirits and invigorate their bodies with the vitality they need to face each day with courage and resilience. Pour out your divine energy upon them, infusing them with a sense of vitality and vigor. Surround them with opportunities for rest and rejuvenation, allowing them to recharge their physical, emotional, and spiritual batteries. May they experience a fresh outpouring of your strength that enables them to overcome every obstacle in their path. Amen.

Before he settled in Samaria, Elisha passed some time on Mount Carmel.[4] He served from 892 until 832 BC as an advisor to the third through the eighth kings of Judah, holding the office of "prophet in Israel". He is called a patriot because of his help to soldiers and kings.[5]
In the biblical narrative, he is a disciple and protégé of Elijah, and after Elijah was taken up in a whirlwind, Elisha received a double portion of his power and he was accepted as the leader of the sons of the prophets. Elisha then went on to perform twice as many miracles as Elijah

Why don't you honor God by using capital G in God??

    • @walterlebzax9585
      @walterlebzax9585 Před 4 měsíci

The capital letter G is primarily used to personify the God of the Bible, much like how first letters of names of people, cities, etc. are written in capital letters.
We do not use the capital letter G to honor God; it is just the convention when using Roman letters. If you wrote the word "God" in lowercase letters, it would simply mean "deity," but if you wrote it in capital letters, it would mean a particular biblical person or character.
