I'm strongly convinced Bob is not a performer or an entertainer, he just lives and goes about his day, and like all of his unbelievable stories he just so happened to chance himself in the British Bake off as a part of his day
He literally is not a performer or entertainer. He fell into that world by chance after being a solicitor for years

It is amazes me that someone like Bob, who can make me snort with laughter by uttering a single sentence, also seems to have no self control when it comes to humor either - he regularly snorts, grins, and laughs his way through every appearance.

@abcxyz53 I guess I've watched it more than you then, because Greg Davies took over for Lee Mack a couple of times. But what I was just trying to say, was when all three of them were on an episode together. Bob Mortimer is not a regular. He has been on many episodes in the past, however.
Nobody should ever be able to say a bad word to Bob. Everybody should always be nice to him and give him ice cream and just let him go about his day

@@abcxyz53 that’s the joke. It’s not a northern phrase, it’s a common phrase in general (I believe it started in Ireland and made its way to the UK through the north of England though).
The joke was that he said it’s his catchphrase, like saying ‘thank you’ is my catchphrase

In an episode of Athletico Mince, he tells a story sbout his time on Bake Off.
It involves Mary Berry screaming in her temperature controlled room, and a terrible incident between him, Kirsty Wark, some missing walnut cake and a Natiinal Trust 'farting bowl'.
I believe it happened exactly ss he described it.

He's a Yorkshire lad is our Bob. It's not a heavy accent though, I think years of working in showbiz has faded it out a bit.
He's from Middlesbrough which is in the North East, about 40 miles away from Newcastle
