- Gold Rush: The Game. We get our claim in Alaska, get some tools, then get us some gold!
Our hog pan is working well, so today we're going to take some of the gold we've gotten from it and head into town with it. We'll be smelting it at the blacksmith, then taking the little gold bar off to the bank to sell it for some serious cash! Well, serious for us anyway... With the money, we'll be able to buy the extension for the hog pan and the extra mats, then head back to the claim to keep on digging!

Mud runner meets gold rush meets farming sim would be amazing
Frithgar you asked at 22:50 if people actually go out and do this anymore and I have to tell you that the entire thing is pretty much right as far as the basic hand panning goes. My uncles and I used to go out panning for gold when I was a kid and they would take along some equipment and we'd go out to a place they knew and we would set up for a day or a weekend and just dig, and pan for hours and hours.
They had a machine that ran on a generator that I'm assuming was like the hogpan with pump you can get in the game because it did a lot of the big separation for us. Those ridges on the gold pan in the game are exactly like the ones on real gold pans. They're just big enough to catch the smaller particles but let the larger rocks just roll off them. I wonder if it would help you sort out your gold from your rocks if you tip the pan away from you and see if the gold nuggets get caught on those ridges in the game like they would in real life.
There are still people out there that go out treasure hunting. :) I want to drag my husband along one of these days and go out for fun like my uncles used to do.
The ultimate sim game would be a game with FS ETS2 Gold rush etc where you can like choose your career so when I or have harvested it you could drive it many 100 kilometers before selling it

To answer your question of whether people still do things with a shovel, bucket, and hand sluice like the old days, yes. If you ever need some extra cash and you live close enough to somewhere where there's gold, claims usually only cost a couple grande to lease.
My ultimate sim game: the reconstruction era after some kind of apocalyptic disaster. Not war, but some other disaster. The basic premise it that the world gets better and happier as you go along. You start as a member of the community of survivors, and you can do whatever craft you want, farmer, rancher, miner, craftsman, doctor, anything. There's a risk of attack from bandits, but the risk is very low until you get near end-game, and that risk can me mediated by bolstering your community's reputation as a nice place to live. The idea behind that being that bandits would rather live there than attack it. I think of it as more of a optimistic look at the post-apocalypse. I could go into more detail, but that's the basic idea.
Once you start on details of something like that, it's possible to go for a while, I could literally talk for weeks about it if I really set my mind to it! Awesome idea, really like this one :)
I've actually had a stroke of inspiration after making that comment. I'm probably going to spend the next couple days writing up and fleshing out my ideas. Don't know what I'll do with it after that, but it's always good to release those creative juices when they start to pressurize.

You kill me, lol, 90% 0f the time you enter the truck from the right side door. You're showing your British roots, lol. Also I love your trial and error method of learning the game it's so entertaining, I'm sure that you know the game includes a journal that shows you how to progress quickly but it requires you to follow the steps exactly in the order it tells you, however, that would be boring and predictable, thanks for the entertaining videos.
The ultimate simulator game is in my opinion ets, fs, gold rush and something with hunting in a open world game. Its like: You have your rifle next to you while you are mining and you see a deer in the forest, you pick your rifle shoot the deer and sell the deer. I'am german so Sorry for my bad english. But i do enjoy your videos ^^
The ultimate sim game for me would be what you described I get so overwhelmed with excitement when I think about something like that I have to stop myself from thinking about it haha
My ultimate game would be a mix between gta (doing the illegal side of things) and simulator games(doing the legal side of things) and putting them together to make real life as there would be many paths to follow in your journey.
I would just want a really good duck hunting simulator. I waterfowl hunt, and irl it is really hard work. Everything from building a blind, to setting decoys, and even keeping warm. All while watching the sky. Then on top of it mix it with kind of a sims style game where you have to have a job, and a family.
I want a game where i can start a business, in several different sectors. Customise a home and buy others. One where i can rent out houses and go into the stock market. I want to be able to have gold and silver and other precious metals and have them be actual physical objects in the game all rolled into one game. Now thats a sim.
The perfect sim game for me is basically The Hunter: Call of the Wild, Farming Simulator, and Gold Rush with a giant map, realistic terrain, realistic AI on animals, realistic equipment, weapons, and other miscellaneous things, and for everything to be deformed, altered, or changed in any way

I usually like MP.. but I've been playing Kenshi and it's single player and I absolutely love that game.. literally do whatever you want.. there is no real story.. it's as of now my favorite game.

If you get a pump system going for your tire 1 then you can easily get your matts to 100% and when you have done that you get a 39oz gold peice which is enough to get tire 2 stuff (At least thats how i did it). Hope this helped :)

I know I'm kinda late to this, but my ultimate simulator game would be a game where you can, for example, drive a truck, then load the cargo onto a train, drive that to an airport, fly the cargo to anywhere in the world and so on. And of course, there must be an optional multiplayer. You then can choose whether you want to go to a public server or a private server.
So $441 for the .36 bar.. that's pretty good. I calculated it based off your previous game.. you got like $62.5 I think for .06.. so 6x that would have been $375 so I say you made out.. Made $441 for the bar - $12 gives you a net profit of $429 vs. the assumed $375 you would have gone not smelting, for a total of $54 bonus dollars at the cost of 1 hour of game time.

Have you tried to dig in the river? The fact that the river lights up in a gold banner I believe means that there is a point where gold should be located.
the ultimate sim game for me would be to combine every sim game out there with PUBG... so you can have gold miners waging war on farmers to capture the land, possibly on many fronts, before proceeding to very realistically exploit it to their gain
of course you'd need some backstory to maintain the disbelief, for example you can have some exposition about the society in the background which enables the players to carry out acts of aggression without repercussion, as well as somehow granting access to all the tools and resources they need for the gameplay to work... however this kind of lawless frontier-like environment does preclude some types of sims such as trucking and bus sims, unless you prop them up with plot devices at the risk of cluttering up your sim universe
i have a friend with some of this equipment he goes out every now and then on extended camping trips.

First you'd need magnetite. Don't worry about it for awhile.
Just a heads up, never press Tab or Escape while you're in the menu for the tablet. It takes away your cursor so you can't click shutdown and so far I have not found a way to reset that other than loading your last save. If you save in that moment the save actually keeps you in the tablet also without a cursor.
I’ve had this ultimate game idea for a long time. I really think about it more with farm sim. I’d just like other games to be integrated. For example farm sim you only have tractors no simi you can contract euro truck drivers to take your grain to sell. And euro truck drivers will take your contracts. Then you can hire flight sim pilots to come with a piper cub to spray your crops or hire a heli to take you to mining camp. You could also hire a train for stuff. This can go on forever. But the basic idea isn’t a single game but all the games integrated. So for example fs 18 I harvest my crop and and planted. If I had euro truck sim I could jump on there and drive my grain to sell point. But best of all if I had friends who drove euro truck and played flight sim and construction sim... etc we could all work for each other. Also if I play all these games I can do stuff when I’m waiting for stuff to happen.
There is a game just like this "identity" it's been in process now for around 3 years

You get an 40 ounce bonus once you reach one ounce.....sell the bonus in gold and you can pay a mobile washplant including an excavator.

I don't know what I was at but I had the pump and the 4 mats when I got the 40ounce bonus. My advice to anyone starting the game new is to get a loan right at the start to be able to afford the hog+pump, both sluice bits and the 4 mats. You will easily make the money back and it avoids all the time wasting.

I think that the ultimate simulator game would be with the hole planet earth with the benefits of The Sims, Flight Simulator, GTA, American and Euro Truck Simulator, and where you really begin has a child and you have to do what you do in real life, school work etc. and the career choises, it has to be really realistic in the way that we people see the things

A really good mining simulator game is missing. Early 1800's 1900's mining. Following a coal, copper, iron layer under the ground making tunnels. Expand it also to current times. Game if made right could be great start for future geologists identifying rock formations and know what mineral deposits are found in such formations.

My ultimate sim game would be: A HUGEEE multiplayer map, as big as Europe, where you can choose your job and you can interact with other jobs. Example: as a farmer, you would hire someone else that works at a trucking company to transport your grain or cattle. As a gold miner, you would have to hire someone that can move your huge mining equipment. If you break down as a trucker, you would have to call someone to tow your truck away, and you would have to take it to a shop to fix it. That would be the ultimate game for me in general.
BTW frith, if you get 1 oz of gold, the game wil give you 40! Also, you can get a loan at the bank

I'd love a game with building capabilities like sims, hunting like in call of the wild, farmable capabilities like G/R and fs17. Fishing like in fishing planet. A fully working town with shops for all money making possibilities and the possibliity of servers so you can have friends and create a community. wouldn't leave my desk hahahaha.

Don't tip the dirt balls out.You have to get water in the pan and wash it around to get the gold out of those dirt balls. You have probably lost 3-4 times the amount of gold you have collected because your just throwing it out.

As for setting be nice to have a rural and city option for a few continents, so North America, South America, U.K, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Australia, South Africa, Asia and Middle East.
My ideal game would be a sim/RTS fantasy game. In single player mode you'd choose a race, human, elf, dwarf, or troll. Each race raises it's own unique crops and animals, has it's own buildings, culture, implements, tools, trades and weapons. You choose the difficulty level including sandbox which has no enemies or disasters. Other levels include those to varying degrees as well as specific goals to reach in order to claim a victory ( sandbox mode excludes goals and a victory ). The enemy is the AI.
In multiplayer you can choose to live in peace and band together against an unknown enemy, which can be the AI or another group of players using the same races or different ones like gnomes, wizards, ogres and the undead. Or you can just compete against each other to achieve set goals or fight each other for map dominance.
The game requires resource management which would vary according to race as well as peace time vs war time because weapons would need to be manufactured. The game would need to have the ability to alter the terrain to mine, cut down forests for weapons and to create fields.
I think the ultimate simulator could be called... LIFE, DEATH & DECISIONS. Where you play your character from birth to death by making life changing decisions in an open 3D global map, every act, decision and judgement builds your characters looks, personality and lifestyle. Once you create your character you control their life at different stages along their life journey. Starting initially within the womb where you design your babies attributes such as colour, race, size, body and facial features and any abnormalities which grow as your character grows.
At each stage of life you make core decisions and side choices which affect your characters development and the people around you who you interact with creating possible future ripples in your timeline. The gameplay would be a complete interactive 3D world, at first your choices are few and far between such as rejecting your mothers milk (Problem Child Path) , but you grow and venture forward and more and more avenues open up such as little leagues (Sporting/Celebrity Path), video games (Gaming Expert Path), behaving in class and doing your homework on time and towing the line (Bookworm/Geek Path), mugging the little old ladies for their pensions (Bank Robbery/Mob Boss), Running away from home and live in the wilderness (Bear Grylls/Adventurer). These key stages along the life line could be for example from fetus to 6 months old, the evil 2's to 3, then onto 5 to 6, then at 9 to 10, then at 14 to 15, then before adult hood 18 to 19, skipping along to 29 to 30, then at 39 to 40, then a big jump to 54 to 55, then finally just before death at 80 years old. As you grow you interact with others around you. Your parents, siblings and family, at primary school other children and teachers, at secondary school friends, gangs and the law, adulthood love, happiness, your career paths, your hobbies and building your own family, later on going through a mid-life crisis, then into your retirement years and finally a look back, meet up or set you estate straight before the big sleep. This would make the perfect sim game in my books. A real life sim.
Ok, that's some awesome ideas you got there! To be honest, a lot of it is not far off of what they're planning with Chronicles Of Elyria, although that's fantasy rather than sim, but controlling characters as they grow up, then grow old is all part of the core of that one!

I had an idea for a multiplayer Oregon Trail sim. On the subject of Fantasy, I've always was a High Fantasy/American Civil War or World War II game.
Frithgar you said pretty much everyting about my ultimate simulator game but I would add ETS2(you would need sell your crops by yourself or just earn money by transporting other players stuff) and something with racing like Forza Horizont or Project Cars 2(here you could earn more money and buy more cars or machinery but if you drive bad you could die) :D

Cities skylines and gta. Make it multiplayer I guess, but I'm more of a GTA single player kinda guy. But make the area bigger. Maybe 8x the size skylines is now.
Shoot, mix it with all the components of the sim games you're talking about. Zone farmland in skylines, then go into first person and build a farm, mine a river, whatever.
It is 30 to enter early access it is a self maintained economy so there are no npc every thing you have Is made by other players
