I couldn't agree more. Bloc Party have been my favourite band since I was 14, and the profound amount of respect I have for them and their musical diversity is immeasurable. Four would have been a disappointment for the vast majority of Bloc Party fans. The more I listen, the more it grows on me, but songs like Kettling just don't appeal to me. Doesn't mean I love Bloc Party any less. The album doesn't feel well-rounded and cohesive, but by golly, there are some absolute corkers on there.
Omg.. .why WHY couldn't they have given us an album full of songs like this and "Montreal" instead of the crap in "Four" -.-. There were like three songs in that whole album that were just incredible, and the rest were terribly depressingly un-bloc party-ish :e WHY YOU BREAK MY HEART LIKE THIS? *fangirl sob*
you can be a fan of a band and not blindly adore everything they do, being critical of an album that doesn't work doesn't make me a "so called fan" :P There are some really great songs on Four, ones that actually worked, but were still something new and exciting but most of them felt like a massive backwards step in maturity in terms of their sound as a band, it wasn't a cohesive "album", it was a patchwork of disfunction, it's a shame, but hey, my opinion :P
Four was supposed to be a messy and experimental album, four was a good album you're just being ignorant towards the other stuff that was a bit different like a bunch of other so called bloc party fans.
So he begins to lie, 3x3, we are not good people, coliseum, team a.. I tried, I tried to like them but they are just terrible songs. Some of the stuff they did on that album was good, once you got past those first few songs, real talk is a really interesting song, and softer ones like day four and leaf skeleton really grew on me, but still... nothing comes close to some of the stuff on silent alarm or intimacy. Just my opinion ofc, but after such a long break I had hoped for more from "Four"
"Four" was not crap. How would you know what song isn't Bloc Party-ish. Sounds like you didn't understand what the album was about and the concept it had. I don't see or hear anything crappy about "Four"

This song reminds me of Pyramids by Frank Ocean on certain parts, is that just me?

They were the best ones. You have no clue what you're talking about.
