    Josh Jackson always reminded me of Corey Brewer. Never thought he’d be great, but didn’t think he’d be out of the league this early.

    • @dsg3053
      @dsg3053 Před 5 lety +19

      Not the defender and shooter Corey was. Brewer is still in the league and who would've thought he would have this long of a career? Josh LOOKS like he belongs in the league based off physical tools alone. Corey always came off more cerebral, opposite of Josh. Josh being in the G League is definitely earlier than what I expected too

      And that's all it is. He'll be back in the league sooner than we think. When I see vids like these. I realize that the page has to create content. Dude is making 7 mil this year to play in the dleague to simply work on his game and to humble him (due to many off court issues he's had)... he'll be called back up soon or traded but he's not out the league by a Longshot. Terrance Ferguson was sent to the G-league for 3 games to work on some things then called back up immediately. There are a few others....Brandon Jennings is the biggest name I can think of played in the G-LEAGUE coming off of an injury while in the Detroit to get back into game shape. He was called back up almost immediately by the Pistons (this was when Jennings was still a sought after player in the league.)

      @GotAL2Say lol far from a Suns fan or JJ fan. Just speaking facts. Clearly stated it's to humble him for being arrested a few times last season as well as to work on some weak points in his game. They do this to many players. But he will be called back up this season. They way this vid is reporting it is as if the kids career is over he has 7 mil plus an option left on his contract lol. Learn basketball. The team may be looking to trade him or clearing up roster space for the preseason rotation to look at other young players due to a shorter preseason than in years prior.

    Seen a bunch of hyped/semi hyped 6'6-6'9 wings with athleticism come into the league and fizzle Because they didn't think the game or barely developed their games on a professional level. Didn't think Josh Jackson would've been one of them, but its not too late for him. Better go for it now, because next to point guards, athletic wings are the second norm. Great breakdown boss

    It’s annoyin that a lot these scouts get paid millions to not be able to correctly assess nba talent. I remember hearing a lot of those guys saying that Jackson was better than Tatum. In my head i was like “what game are y’all watching “ because I couldn’t see it. Tatum was clearly the more skilled and polished player. Better footwork, ball handling, iso moves, shootin and he was just as tall.

If anything, he needs to work on his shooting. All other aspects of his game is very very good. He’s a damn good basketball player and shouldn’t be in the g league. I say, Miami would be a solid team for him. They have good development plans for young players. Citing passing and IQ as a weakness is just wrong. Josh Jackson is not weak in those areas. Those are some of the reasons he’s heralded as a top prospect. His passing and feel for the game. Again, shooting is his only weakness. I love how hard he plays and he’s a very good competitor. He’d excel on a playoff team that plays good basketball

    Never saw him as a top10-15 pick, not to say he wasn’t good enough to be drafted 1st round in that draft class but not top 15. He gave me a Andrew Wiggins vibe, like he’s physically gifted but doesn’t seem to have the mentality to be great unless someone either humbles him or mentors him.I remember they would always say he’s competitive but it never looked like he was on the court whenever I saw him play. That class had no clear cut players like this 2019 class with Zion,Barrett and Morant.

    He's still in the league. It's still the Developmental League no matter who's currently sponsoring it. I think Memphis is doing this to try to wake him up that he needs to get better.... kind of like a scare tactic to get him to understand that this thing aint promised. The reality is that Memphis is in rebuild mode they the perfect environment for a young player thats struggling to get plenty of minutes and opportunities with low expectations / demands to produce results. They signaled this by trading Mike Conley and drafting Ja Morant... everything is about development now. But first they gotta put the fear of god into Josh Jackson... then once theg see he gets it... he'll be back up in the league in no time.... I think they just want to see how bad he wants it and if he's going to put in that effort because he's up for a big payday in a year or two... so they want to see some hustle from him.

    I believe its much more of a humbling thing. He's a pro. Going to be a good one,one day. Too gifted physically,and i remember him being upset with phoenix for tanking. His dog might be a bad attitude but he still has dog in him. That'll keep him in the league and manifest into something positive given experience. Lets not forget he was playing for the suns!!!

    The reason his growth got stunted was because the suns organization is trash he not the only top pick who’s career they’ve ruined marquis Chriss and dragan bender were both drafted in 2016 in the top 10 and neither one of them play for the team anymore and shooting is the easiest thing for a player to fix I’m not saying he can be Klay Thompson but it’s easy to fix a lot of players have become better shooters as time went on I think some of the kids come out of college with a lot of talent and untapped potential and these teams don’t take their time to develop them if they not putting crazy numbers in they first 2 years teams and fans will label them a bust and ship them out for no reason

      fiya 985 Not even close. He had to compete for time with three to four other forwards and when he did get time, he showed flashes of what he could be. The same thing happened with Dragan Bender. The suns just drafted them and expected them to be like Devin booker and when they didn’t, the suns gave up on them.

    All athlete but couldnt throw in the ocean, Need to really talk about how a lot of these kids repeat a year of school and are older than regular high school kids,so they are more physically developed so they dont develope their skill level. Once he stepped up in competition his upside was that he could be an elite defender. Code word for trash on offense. If you cant shoot at least mid range you dont have a chance.
