Mary Todd Lincoln was politically ambitious an amazing yet controversial individual whom may have been harsh but her wisdom was far beyond her years she and abe were perfectly suited for one another. She instinctly knew she was to marry one of the greatest presidents of all time.
Don’t forget the company of enemies, Lincoln’s cabinet. His was one of the first Federal coups in the United States. And the trigger man was safely removed to California. Why wouldn’t all the family receive negative spin? We still see such tactics in coups, don’t we?
my Grt grandmother was a cousin of Robert Lincoln from the Hanks side and di not have anything good to say about him one comment I remember her saying was that Robert wanted to control her and her money, Gramma called him an ungrateful Child who treated his mother disrespectfully

All of these people have rose colored glasses on. MTL was a complicated person. Yes, many of the good things in the video are true. But only one side of Mary is presented. While in the White House, she embezzled, took kick-backs, and demanded bribes. She had a vicious temper.
6:10 Robert and MTL were very good friends up until 1875. Again, this video has incomplete and distorted facts. MTL was in Florida and rushed back to Chicago convinced that Robert was dying. It wasn't a premonition - it was a delusion (she also suffered from hallucinations and severe paranoia). It was the impetus, not the sole reason why she was committed. Over 1/2 a dozen medical experts, including MTL's own physician, all agreed that she was a danger to herself.
