@@alexamerling79yea on defense at least. I can see this easily being a top 10 defense with top 5 upside but offense is still a question mark to me. Feels like we might need another playmaker and while I see Caleb being great I can see him struggling his first couple of games.
To your point, I keep hearing/reading it’s a top 10 Defense already. Why do we think that? That was last year’s squad and that was against a good amount of mediocre teams with low expectations.
Plus, I believe we were 31st or last in the league in sacks. Yes, there’s more to D than sacks, but you absolutely need pass rush to win in the playoffs. Bears D is 2 great players away.

those two 1st rd. picks were later 1st round picks. the 2019 1st ended up being #24th overall (josh jacobs) , and the 2020 1st was #19th overall (damon arnette). a top 10 pick (much more valuable) plus a little extra (maybe a future 2nd) should be enough if "big pole" poles were to be interested in such a trade.

It’s not really 2 first round picks. Nobody in this draft at defensive end will be even close.
When it comes to MP, it all depends on what you are looking for at #9. If it's a receiver that is more important to Poles, than hell no, but if you're looking to take a rusher at #9, I think it not only makes sense, but that defense would be absolutely dominate. I personally would love to see our defense be an amazing crushing force again where teams are dreading to play us.

I thought I wanted Bears content on the daily, but I think it’s overkill. Quality of that content is slipping (or I’m just getting tired of the baseless speculation).
Haven't watched the video yet, but based on the title: Jerry Jones will not be trading any star players this off-season. They will be trying to add star players to make a push for the SB in Dak's last contract year. Trading away their best defender would be mutually exclusive with improving their chances at making a SB run.
P would he be great? Sure but it goes against what poles has been trying to do with the teams cap space. if you want a season by season contender you have to make sure the cap space makes sense

Yes to Micah Parsons’ absolutely yes without a second thought
If we could get Parsons for a 1st next year and a 2nd in '26, yes. Trade for him after the draft, before the season starts. Pick up the 5th year option and then franchise tag him. Three full years of control that doesnt bankrupt us. Then we let him go and pay Caleb. The next three years are our opportunity to surround Caleb with talent before we have to devote a large portion of the cap to him. Trading for Parsons with the draft capital I described fits our timeline and doesnt cripple us moving forward.

If I'm giving up two firsts, I 'm doing it for a guy like Mack, who is a plus on the field *AND* in the locker room. When you have a guy like Parsons with *THOSE* elite numbers and a team would be happy to see him in the rear-view mirror, that tells me everything I need to know.

Talent wise, yes you trade for Parsons, but if the Cowboys patience is "wearing thin" with Parson, he would drive the Bears crazy. I'd stay away.
I will tell you this, you pick up Michael Parsa, Caleb Williams, this bears team jumps to one of the favorites in the NFC to win the conference

In late December Parson's said this... “The Chicago Bears are going to be a very good team. The Bears are going to be a legit playoff team next year. They can win the NFC North. This team can be a top playoff team next year with Justin Fields.” does he still feel the same if Caleb is the QB, and all we have picked up? As far as issues with Parsons go... How tired is any young guy watching his team lose in playoffs year after year. You could see if they didn't at least make the championship game. He wasn't wanting to be in Dallas. The Dallas defense was dismal down the stretch.
And yes I think Jones will keep him because he is a money draw for Dallas and I thought another year and he may go for it. But he also may consider it this year because he has cap issues and still has to pay a couple guys to keep them.

Maybe include Herbert into the deal something like 9 Herbert future 1st and 75 for Micah Dallas first this year!?!!? Plenty of udfa rb worth nabbing as our third! If you've ever heard Jerry Jones talk about Parsons you'd know that he's 100% not interested in trading him. Besides, it wouldn't make sense for the Bears to trade for him when they have very little draft capital, and with what they have the need to draft of QB.

Micah Parsons can certainly rush the passer and is a sack machine but in Dallas he has struggled when teams use the run against him and he is nowhere near as effective. So offering two 1st round picks and then picking up his salary is just too much. I say trade back at #9 and get some future draft picks because there are some exciting edge rushers in next years draft that could be just what the Bears are looking for
