Erin, you are an absolute superstar! For having used a satnav for the first time, you’ve done much better than I did when I had my first satnav experience. You have done exactly the same mistakes that I did 😂 but don’t worry. I did make all those mistakes, and now here I am 4 years and 150,000 miles later, starting my training as a professional HGV driver soon. You will do it, you will get there, and I stand by my statement from earlier: I can’t wait to hear the good news of you passing your test, because I know without a doubt that you are going to be a good driver! So, keep up the good work! Your first road trip across the country with your friends isn’t far away from now 😉

Driving is not hard to learn!
It’s people’s nerves that usually cause them to fail.
I’m glad I passed in the 90’s though lol these days the DVLA have made so many hoops to jump through.
The youth of today have more to cope with than I did (Passed 1st time 😎1994) no theory/no hazard awareness.
The difference was in our day common sense was more common than it is on today’s roads. 😂
Kids are not taught to think for themselves as we were.
This probably helps limit the number of nervous new drivers on the road, who have always been the biggest risk of accidents.
But some of the idiots in these videos are hilarious.
The dude who failed the emergency stop 🛑 lol one hand on the wheel, chatting away without a care in the world instructor and examiner both lost for words!

This will have been very beneficial for Erin, as I think she does have good instincts, she just needs to have more confidence in herself, the feedback you gave her will have done her a world of good ☺ I remember my first time driving without anyone saying anything, it was a bit scary, but when you get taken out of your comfort zone, you end up adjusting to your surroundings and becoming more comfortable with them.

I was suddenly wondering Aman, sometimes at the start of the video, when your learner starts the car you press a button on your middle console. What is that what you have to do? Just curious.

eh. she can barely keep it in the lanes despite being told 700 times.
Quite often when the sat nav gives two instructions, e.g. bear right then bear left, detailed examination of road markings gives optional approach lanes for first part. This can positively influence the driver into the better overall lanes plan with the secondary turn in mind. 15:12 notice on approach three lanes are suddenly available typically middle one goes both ways. Very often these lanes are convenient and have the longer queue. as locals know the problem ahead..
I think this will help Erin. It will push her on to be more self reliant.

Nice drive on the whole. The only real issue is planning after the turn . At the moment you are only thinks about the first turn and not the second turn. So when turning rights and you have 2 lanes and are going left be in the left lane then youre ready for the left turn and its not a panic to move left. Apart from that excellent drive.
Got to follow the nav during my 8th lesson which I liked a lot, but I did get to see the map on the screen as well. That helps. Not sure how I'd do without visuals. Also, passed my theory today in one try! Your videos helped a lot, even though we drive on the other side of the road.

To be honest she did REALLY well. Ive seen way worse from people that have been driving for some years and are just plain ignorant. Taking instructions from a satnav can be hard as some tell you very late or mislead you with the instructions. Well done!

11:18 When I was taught I was taught to go in speed increments for gears: 1rst below 20 km\h, 2nd up to 40, 3rd past 60 and then based on a feel, and then go down one gear when going uphill. Idk if mph increments would be hard to see or wtv but I loved that trick, especially in new, well insulated cars when you can't really feel or hear the engine well 😅

Some of that was really good Erin, but there were a few hair raising moments! But these first mock tests often go quite wrong, Learners get a bit stressed suddenly having to make all the decisions for themselves, but it's a really good learning curve and you'll go forward and sort it all out, well done.
To be honest watching her progress through the videos and for the first time being “alone” it wasn’t that bad 🤙🏻 keep it up Erin!

Aman should invite her back a year or 2 after she passes to see if she's developed any bad habits. That would make for a fun video, I think.

When I was learning to drive for a year with an official instructor he never ever made me follow a satnav. Then on my test day I had to follow a satnav, luckily for me I had grown up commuting from south England to north wales, so listening to a satnav was a common occurrence growing up. That’s probably why I found following a satnav straight forward in a driving test with no practice from an instructor

Wish my driving instructor was like you, everytime I make a mistake he criticises me so much over every little thing :( I know that mistakes are a massive part of learning and I learn from them but he makes me feel so bad about them:(
I thought I was the only one who felt this. Exact same thing happens to me I wish my instructor told me about my mistakes as calmly as Aman does.
A couple of lessons going back to basics will help Erin come back and have more head space for the more challenging scenarios

11:29 Was a "Heads Up" or hint to choose whichever straight ahead lane was furthest to the right. The lane chosen was not the easiest overall and the subsequent right turn involved a lot of position changes to complete. This could have turned out problematic ith a higher traffic density.

Erin actually did really good considering, I hated lessons when my instructor wasn't talking it's so awkward!! Also hate the TomTom Sat Nav, Apple Maps sat nav is so much better and the only one I'll use haha the TomTom is so confusing for no reason

I agree! I still remember my first time following a satnav during an independent session, and I’m not afraid to admit that she did better than I did at the time. I’ve done exactly the same mistakes, with the addition of panicking in the middle of a large underpass roundabout with heavy traffic. But her confidence is starting to show, her ability to recognise and respond to a mistake is indeed something she should be proud of. Routine will come with time…
And today, this very session made me realise why I love watching Erin practicing so much. Because she reminds me of me when I was learning.
19:45 I initially worried the red light was for Erin though I knew it wasn't because Aman would have taken control long before if it was. The filter lights to the right was very eye-catching but I'm guessing it will be different IRL.
I finally passed yesterday after failing 4 previous times, so if anyone here is losing hope, just know that you can do it! It might take some of us more time, but that does not mean you will never drive. I almost gave up and passed yesterday in the middle of a pretty bad storm.
Took me 3. Had same examiner the first 2 times.

Erin YOU must al ways check your blind sports before changing Lanes as well , not just the minors you can not sae your Blind sport just on minors, encase off Cyclist or motor bike , a part then that your a good driver Keep it up
