Cameras of this type were used at school for photographing an annual panoramic portrait of everybody. There was always one sporty "volunteer" allocated, with tacit approval of the teachers, the task of standing at the start end of the group, then sprinting around the back to the other end so that they would appear twice. It usually worked.

I love how Conner's hair seems to be different in every video.

    Two short remarks:
    - You don't want to let the transport lever snap back. It's held by a very fragile screw that will break sooner or later.
    - The speed of rotation of the turret does not change between 1/8, 1/4 and 1/2 s. They vary the exposure by adjusting the width of the slit through which the film is exposed, much like the shutter curtains of a conventional focal plane shutter above the flash sync speed.

One got the horizon perfect. One of my favorites.

I wanted to get into the panoramic system and I was looking to get a bronica with 6x6 backs and 135W panoramic back. That dream quickly faded when I found out that the 135W are more expensive than couple of camera bodies. Would've been a great system from what I've seen in videos and pictures.

Janne, calling an image taken with a lens covering 80-83 degrees angle is hardly “panoramic”. Letterbox, yes. Panoramic, no. Cameras like the Horizon 202, Widelux, etc cover angles >120 degrees.

    Interesting cameras!
A really interesting experiment would be to put the camera on a smooth swivel, and have it turn at the same speed as the shutter, to constantly keep a still subject in frame. Would require a bit of engineering, I'd say!

In his book End Time City, Michael Ackerman did some amazing handheld work using a swing lens camera, sometimes rotating the camera through 90 degrees mid-shot

Can someone tell me which Horizon is worth buying?
Money is not an issue, I just want the best one. There's the 202, the S3 Pro, and the Perfekt. Which one is best?

i would go for the S3pro.
202 is way too cheap and limited.
Perfekt you will have 1/500 but loose the 1".
In a perfect world i would go for the perfekt. but the 1/500 is way to fast and i think the quality build is less worst than the S3pro and you will have more lensflare/leaks.
(i had two perfects since 2009 and now i am with a S3 for 4 years just now i am getting more problems with the camera).
believe me. flares and leaks are cool only sometimes. but when you start getting this things in a picture of a place you will never be back there again to redo the shot. its pretty enraging.

Kodak made these back in the early 20th century.
