    Tuesday Tips has become essential viewing and not just for Unify owners but, as in this case, to get the best out of the other included virtual instruments. Like others here I have had Dexed for ages and used the presets but this is a really handy tutorial on how to tweak it to make your own. When things get back to normal and someone asks "What kept you going through all of this?" I am pretty sure that "looking forward to Tuesday Tips" will be on the list 👍😎 Huge thanks SkipPy! blown away at the sounds after grabbing this synth HOWEVER the 'show dir' doesn't open a file explorer, only able to launch file explorer via 'load' (windows 64 bit using reaper) (&&& functions as expected in standalone mode, outside of DAW) ... any way, totally would recommend, super happy with the synth. and kinda worried about infinite bliss while browsing the 3k patches in the 'DX7 All The Web' ... also 17:01 totally reminds me of Rhye's opening for "Phoenix"

      There is - Next to each of the 6 OSC "LEVEL" knob is a knob named "Key Vel" which is the sensitivity to velocity. Make sure you look at the Algorithm because the Key Vel knob controls volume on the operators that show up at the bottom row, but any row above they control the sound going from dark to bright timbre by velocity. Hope this helps.

    So just to make sure, this is royalty free, correct? If I were to use this vst in my music and release it on a streaming platform, I would not have to pay any royalties to the people who own Dexed?

      N Escudero - correct. Free to use on anything! Hope you write a huge hit! 👊

    can you control the feedback how you can on the reface DX?

      There is a feedback parameters that you can modulate via automation or inside of Unify and attach it to one of its 8 realtime Macro Knobs.

    WHat I still don't understand, do you run dexed inside of a DAW or on it's own? I'm trying to run it on its own but when it opens, it's too big for the screen and I can't resize the window.

      Dexed is a plug-in and I don't believe it comes with a standalone version. You need to use Reaper or your DAW of choice, or our own Unify multi-plugin playground that comes as both plugin and standalone. If it doesn't fit your screen you need to increase the resolution of your monitor. Dexed doesn't have any screen resize options.

    This is an interesting plugin but my interest in it is layered DX sounds. I can load up two or more instances of Dexed in my DAW, so I'm thinking why should I get Unify? Maybe someone who understands the Unify concept could explain. :) Also, have I understood correctly: Unify can load VST2 plugins? Because that would solve the problem with Cubase 12 not supporting VST2 plugins anymore.

    HEY how do i get reverb off dexed it has massive reverb and cant figure out how to get it off thx

    • @PlugInGuruVideo
      @PlugInGuruVideo  Před 2 lety +1

      DEXED doesn't have any built in effects - so it must be something in your DAW's mixer adding reverb. There are some patches that have poorly simulated reverb but for the vast majority, they are totally dry from Dexed.

    But can I create a bank of sounds and export them to my physical DX7 over midi transfer?

    • @PlugInGuruVideo
      @PlugInGuruVideo  Před 2 lety

      Yes you can.... "Fully supports DX7 input and output Sysex messages; including controller change. This means that you can use this with a native DX7/TX7 as a patch editor and SysEx manager."

      @@kr1340 - I am sorry but I don't have experience doing this - I do own an original DX7 but have not done this or used Bome. So google and CZcams are your friends.... or maybe a forum somewhere...
