    and wish I could do some carving on the stock when I get it.

    Anyone who can do carving engraving etc has a God given talent. I really like carving and engraving if done tastefully and sparingly. It really adds to the overall appearance and appeal of a period correct firearm. Sadly I do not have that talent. I love the single shots both breech loaders and muzzle loaders. You speak of the grain structure and I agree. I have fought it in times past on my few projects. How many hours did that particular rifle take? Gorgeous work by the way........

    Yep! Use the shadows! I have every light off except my swing arm light when I'm carving.
