Hey legends, in today's episode I made my way back down the coast to the shelf again... same spot as last week in an attempt to redeem myself as I lost so many big fish last time.
Used lures for a couple hours without much luck but the minute I switched over to bait things started to get interesting!
Ended up landing 5 fish and got my hook snapped in half by some sort of monster, bent the rod that hard I thought that the rod was going to snap also.
Lots of fun with locked up drag and 50lb line on a small rod n reel. took two big grunter home a 62cm and a 48cm as they are a very good eating fish plus I have a family of four to feed back home.

Hey you should try fishing for grunted on the weed banks in the old Barron river I caught a 56cm grunted their a few weeks ago
Good video mate. Nice spot out there, I always go straight past in the boat thinking those rocks would be good to fish off. Just a hint to save you some heart break: Don't hook ya lures onto the eyelets, the barb will scratch the eyelet any can be just enough for the braid to get caught in there and snap off. Hook onto the frame between eyelet and rod. :)

It's a pretty well know spot but always produces good fish. Just keep n eye out for those big lizards

Hey mate, I always carry 4 or so 128g cards, that way you don't miss anything. I hook my best fish when the camera is off and it can be frustrating at times...

Good stuff bud, can't beat FNQ... The depth varies alot around there, I'd say 8-10m+ ruff estimate. Stick around for this weeks episode, hooked a huge coral trout on swimbait n heaps of barra 🤙

Yeah keen as fuck. Located just south of Mackay at the moment and lately they have caught a few decent corals around here from the rocks/surf.
