    We run a strip of white aluminum down to the ground when it goes into the dirt like that then put the starter over it. An option for above that stone would be to do a freeze board and keep it going around the gable looks like it would like up just a quick thought.. might look weird with siding being that narrow

      The issue with the youtube algorithm is that once you stop posting at more or less regular intervals, it stops showing your videos to your subscribers and other potentially interested users on the Home Feed.
      For example:
      The last video I saw from you was the caulking one.
      After that, you went rogue for me.
      The last two videos were not recommended to me in my feed.
      I had to manually search your channel.
      There are 3 main tabs (pages) that youtube users usually are at.
      Home Feed
      Explore (Trending)
      Subscriptions Feed
      Back in the day, the subscription feed was the most important page. Then the Explore (Trending) page became #1, also the Home Feed was introduced.
      Now the Explore (Trending) is 1st place, Home Feed is 2nd place and the Subscription Feed is basically inexistent.
      I order to get on the Explore (Trending) page you need to get hundreds of thousands of views in a very short amount of time. This is very hard to achieve since you are not creating cancer content like 99% of those who are on that page.
      If you want to get your videos on the Home Feed of the people that used to watch your videos and that might be interested in your content (Note, I didn't say subscribers) you will need to do a few things.
      You have the ability to use the community posts feature. I might have seen them on youtube. It's a text post with a link/video/image/voting poll attached to it.
      Start using this feature. This community post will be seen not only by your subscribers but also by people that have interacted with any of your videos.
      You can do the following.
      First.
      Ask questions regarding what videos people would be interested in. It does not mean you need to produce content on-demand, but I can help you with some new ideas.
      Create a voting poll on (whatever you think is worth it). What are the best shingles? Which one would you use? Is this tool better than that one? Do you want to see long videos or you prefer the short format? ( I can answer the last question, the long videos are great, I love watching listening to them when I work/cook/clean the house, I also sometimes grab some food and just sit down have a break and watch them, also great before sleep).
      At first, you will get little response, but with time you will get more and more people engaged with them.
      This will also remind people that you are alive and they will search for your new videos even if they didn't get them in their Home Feed.
      Second.
      Live streams are a great way to interact with your community and to boost your activity inside youtube.
      This shows youtube that you are engaging more with your audience just like with the Community Posts, and they give you a better score inside the algorithm.
      If you can keep your live stream over 1hr that's really good in youtubes eyes.
      Also, this is my honest opinion about you live streaming. If you can do it on the job site that would be great, people (and me lol) would love seeing you work live and having a chance to interact with you.
      Make sure you announce the livestream. Search for these keywords in order to see how to do it. (How To Set up And Schedule CZcams Lives)
      This will appear in people's feeds and they will have a chance to hit the follow button. Once you go live they will get a notification. Also they will know exactly when to expect the video to drop.
      Announcing it through community posts is also a good idea.
      Make sure you do a few test runs since you might need some elbow grease before you get the hang of it. (on how to set it up properly)
      Make sure you have a powerbank for the phone with you. The livestream eats up battery fast.
      Keywords for videos about livestreaming setup. (How To Live Stream On CZcams - Start To Finish)
      Streaming once a month is a great way to keep everyone in the loop and to grow your audience. If you could do it a couple of times a month that would be even better.
      Third.
      I know this is the part that everyone hates, but it's a vital part of the youtube algo.
      In the editing process add a couple of things.
      Search for the following things:
      Free Download: Subscribe Button + Notification Bell (+ Sound FX) [Green Screen/Alpha Channel] HD
      DaVinci Resolve (Free Video Editing Software) - It will cost you nothing and it's like Sony Vegas or any other premium (expensive) video editing software.
      You can find all the tutorials you want on youtube on how to add the subscribe button + sounds to your videos. DaVinci is a very popular software and has a huge user base.
      Add this at the start of the video somewhere in the first 30-60 seconds.
      Add it at the end of the video 30-60 seconds before the ending also verbally remind people about Liking/Subscribing/Leaving a comment.
      All of the above will boost your views.
      At first, it sounds very complicated, but after you do all of the above a few times, you will not only be the fastest shingler on youtube but also the fastest youtuber at the end of the day.
      You will learn to create templates and you'll optimize your workflow after a few tries.
      I really do hope this answers your question and helps you in creating new videos, boosting your views, and having a great time with your audience.
      Thank you again for all the educational videos you make also keeping them funny and hopefully longer than 15 minutes. (The hour-long are my favorites)
      Wish you all the best, stay healthy and safe!
      P.S.
      Search Google for vidIQ Vision for CZcams, it's an extension for the chrome browser, there is a Firefox version also if you don't use chrome. This extension will help you see what kind of keywords to use in order to optimize your youtube videos.

  • @Phoenixrising8313
    @Phoenixrising8313 Před 2 lety

    On the starter if you started from the low point and the house was that out of level, why not run j channel instead of starter where it ran high?

    • @NWIVeteranConstruction
      @NWIVeteranConstruction  Před 2 lety +1

      Well tbh that's kind of the easy way out and will draw unnecessary attention to the fact its different when it's done. All we had to do was determine where we were going to have problems and cut it off. It was Not that tough and is worth it in the end because everything looks uniform as it should. Personally I would never do that lol even a remodel job like this should look like new construction in the end

    • @Phoenixrising8313
      @Phoenixrising8313 Před 2 lety

      That's fair. I would use coil stock or j channel rather than bring out the spade lol.

    • @Phoenixrising8313

      Why snap a level laser line? I go off the soffits. Putting level siding on a sunk off level house will it not throw your windows off and your top piece?

    • @NWIVeteranConstruction
      @NWIVeteranConstruction  Před 2 lety +1

      @@Phoenixrising8313 I agree. I like going off the soffit too. I usually check from that line up to the soffit as well and tweak it if necessary or if possible to get the best outcome. Just something extra I like to do. When you put that laser level line you can check both and it makes the install easier. The corners line up perfect, you get the same reveal on the soffit most times. Works well, and I would personally rather have it match up with the soffit instead of a window. All preference really. And I absolutely have had to use coil stock as well
