      @ExploreVanUK  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi thanks for the like and sub! Glad you like the van, we do too. Actually with this one we were really lucky that just after confirming the layout design we wanted, this van came on the market mostly completed by someone who had built it for themselves but then realised it was bigger than they needed. so we grabbed it. We’ve made a few modifications and finished some bits off like adding solar, refillable gas, satellite TV and some modifications to the power, water and lighting system to make it as near to perfect for us as possible.

    Fantastic series, thankyou for sharing. Im looking at the same van and exact same layout for my family of four. Do you think it would be possible to create a bed above the cab (I realise there is only a tiny amount of space there currently) but if you imagine a base on runners that pulls out to make enough room for two and that base is held up by some aluminium profile legs, that way the sofa area could remain and 'mum & dad' have a overcab bed of sorts? (maybe some side netting so you dont roll etc) I would image if it is possible it would be me on the pullout side and the missus on the overcab bit as she is much smaller. I could even put some dinky windows in there?

    • @ExploreVanUK
      @ExploreVanUK  Před rokem +1

      Hi, yes sure this would be possible. You will obscure the side door a bit with your extension but still think it’s doable. Just consider where you are going to put supports.
      The van narrows nearer to the roof So if laying across the van be conscious of how long (short) the bed will be.

    Hi. Just wondering if you had a video on the variety of seats that could be fitted into a Daily. I am looking to fit some different ones myself but can’t seem to find a straight answer out there on my options. I had a T5 before and the passenger seats were not that comfy (sez the wife).
    Really like your videos, I have picked up some great ideas so thank you very much for all your efforts in making them.

    • @ExploreVanUK
      @ExploreVanUK  Před 2 lety

      Hi, I’m afraid I don’t. As you may know we have T5s in ours and they have modified mounting brackets to fit the original mounted. the passenger seat can be made a bit more comfortable by changing the back brackets to make it 10 degrees more laid back.

    Really impressed with your van. Can you tell me more about the heating you're using including the outlets elsewhere in the van? Thank you. Anne

    • @ExploreVanUK
      @ExploreVanUK  Před 5 lety

      Thanks Anne, we love it.
      We have a Carver system for heating in the Iveco which runs on Gas or 240v. It has radiant (great for at night as it’s silent) or fan blown which distributes the heat through the vents in the living area and the Washroom. Ours came from the donor caravan used for most of the inside of the van.
      It is a Carver 3600 Fanmaster if you want to look out for one.
      I believe Carver were taken over by Truma and I think the current model which gives the same functionality would be the Truma S3004 gas heater with the additional Ultraheat 240v heater.
      However if you are just looking for gas heating that is distributed throughout the van by the fan we had the Truma E2400 in our previous van which was a great compact unit. You can see Truma's range here www.truma.com/uk/en/products/truma-heater/overview.html

    • @ExploreVanUK
      @ExploreVanUK  Před 3 lety

      Hi, the seat is manufactured by Cogent and has a structural frame that bolts through the floor and there are spreader plates under the van.

    • @ExploreVanUK
      @ExploreVanUK  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi - thanks! - Most of the structural build is pretty lightweight with the doors / structural board and most of the equipment being from the donor caravan. We were finding with the contents we were getting close to the 3.5t limit - so we had it up-plated to 3.85t to give us an extra bit of leeway. This was possible without making any changes to the van.

    Hi, I am very interested on the seat conversion so the passenger seat swings round. I can't get a plate to fit an Iveco, which one did you use and did you have re-drill the holes to fit the floor of the van. I guess that T4 and 5 seats are the same size so will swing around..? Does the base plate make the passenger seat higher than the standard Iveco..?
    What supports your bed pull out.? I have a fixed rear double, but the sofa bed is small, so if you want to sleep on it, you have to sleep diagonally.. My boy is getting bigger..!

    • @ExploreVanUK
      @ExploreVanUK  Před 5 lety

      Hi Kris! The Passenger seat is on a Kiravans double seat swivel, which matches the new seats. It did need slight alterations to the mounting holes in the swivel to match up to the Iveco mounting points. I'm not exactly sure on any difference in height but it's not noticeably different.
      The bed pull out is simply a sheet of ply with a custom-made metal tube frame at the front edge that includes three supporting legs.
      Hope that makes sense?

    is this a 3.5 ton van? impressive if it is! we are going to struggle with a MWB daily!

    • @ExploreVanUK
      @ExploreVanUK  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi yep it is 3.5 and yes it is a struggle. We do have to be selective on what can be carried. Thankfully the interior fit out was pretty light being reclaimed from a caravan interior, as there is very little solid wood, it’s mainly honeycomb laminate / thin ply and all the equipment is designed to be light weight. So that gives us a bit extra load weight. I don’t know how some people cope with weight with solid wood panelling / wood burners etc.

    • @johndragonman
      @johndragonman Před 5 lety +1

      @@ExploreVanUK yeah. We are even considering changing sections of the original flooring to aluminium sheet for weight... and no rust hahaha. Got to love that ladder chassis.
