If u have problems finding exe, just click the old one and do the same steps, except on the properties just remove the “old” that’s right before the “steam -vgui”
I did that but for some reason it still opens the new one, also it checks for updates before doing so. I do also have a normal steam icon which I assume is the new version above it
@@edoardosangiorgi2443 shortcut Should say “steam.exe.old” and have the normal steam logo, but it’s okay if it checks for updates mine does too

OMFG Thank you so damn much bro. They messed up all my config settings for apex and this has literally saved me. I couldn't recreate my previous settings for some reason but this still gave me the new version of steam and kept my old settings. You are single handedly saving the apex movement community 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

For everyone having trouble activating this: make sure steam is closed in your task manager, before doing the steps. Steam will stay active, even if you close it. After that the steps will work

i have checked my task manager to make sure steam is closed. i have my steam shortcut on desktop already but when i apply the new changes of the properties, it takes a while to load it up but it opens as the new version again. Does it have anything to do with the fact that my steam is in /E disc?

ONLY DO THE OPEN IN FOLDER PART IF YOU DONT HAVE ALREADY HAVE THE DESKTOP SHORTCUT. You have the exe or your steam literally woundn't launch. You need to press open in file location twice. watch the whole video before commenting

Hey at first it didn't work but then I used the steam -vgui on the regular steam shortcut on my desktop and it worked, hopefully this helps someone.

I dont know what im doing wrong, i uninstalled steam and restarted but I cant find the .exe. Even after reading the comments and trying to just use my original steam shortcut it still isnt working.

On my steam properties it doesn’t show shortcut it just shows general comparability security details digital signatures and previous versions

Dude I get 5fps with the new system, and for what, some unintuitive nightmare. They need to abandon this change. What improvement did we get, they even cut out heaps of the old features!

Putting steam -vgui did nothing for me. I had closed steam with task manager aswell before doing the steps
Try turning off auto startup on steam and restart and then load up the shortcut
@@rubyiwnl haven't tried it and I know you right cause every time I task manager end steam it just opens back up.
Doesn't work for me. Could be regional in forced updates, I have no beta options on. I had previously but was able to get back to the old version, this time it's changed again and no vid has a solution. I'm stuck with this modern ugliness, 5fps in big picture menus and many lost features that I relied on, and a cursor that won't leave the game even if I am out of the overlay. It is so immersion breaking. Clusterfuck, Gabe.

For everyone who has problems to load his old saved configs, you can move your saved files to the new file location:
The new file location for your custom configs changes from :
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YOUR ID\241100
emote\controller_config\1172470
to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Steam Controller Configs\YOUR ID\config\1172470
I hope this also helps anyone who wants to backup his files on disk.

@@xjcfreezydon’t reinstall steam that will just give you a headache and not fix the problem, all you have to do, is do the same thing he did on the old exe, just delete the “old” part from the properties whenever you are typing the the “steam -vgui

@@iggs21yt so how i got it work was i ended steam in the task manager and then right clicked on the steam shortcut you created and opened it manually from there don't double click the shortcut
