The fact is that womens sports dont bring even 1% of the viewership as mens sports do bc men are much better at everything than women especially sports.
Its not fun to watch people shoot layups and miss half of them. 99% of them cant dunk and cant shoot nearly as well as men.
Even women dont want to watch womens sports. Women love mens sports.
The only thing women have to offer is their looks so if they played in bikini 👙 then maybe they would get more viewership.

You have to put butts in the seats before teams can start to increase pay. Somehow they forgot to mention that the WNBA as a whole looses about 10 million dollars a year, the league has to turn a profit before they can start paying players larger salaries. They also didn't mention that the NBA gives 60 million dollars towards WNBA players salaries, if you're going to attack the pay difference you have to break down the reasons why it exists.

Hard not to conclude that her salary is in fact too high.

The whole discussion on the show was stupid. The NBA helps support the WNBA. No one watches the game.
The hype of Clark is what made the NCAA game big. Her first WNBA games will be watched, and then no more.

76k for 3 months of work? I will take that in a heart beat. A "Pay Gap" implies that there is a comparison within the same company, but the WNBA is a seperate, unaffiliated organization than the NBA so there can be no "pay gap".
Next, last year's revenue for the NBA was $10 BILLION, while the WNBA was $60 MILLION. That's a difference of almost 200x; thus you would expect the average salaries of the NBA to be at least 200 times more than the WNBA.
The fact is that WNBA salaries are too high. The proof is that the league loses money every year, and has to be subsidized by the NBA.
Comparing today's WNBA salary to today's NBA is crazy; the better comparison would be todays WNBA, to the NBA salaries of 1980. In 1980, the NBA had revenue of $180 million, and an average salary of 180k per player.
The wnba is inferior, in every way, for all levels of men's basketball, and is a real horror to watch. Improve the entertainment value, on the court, and the dollars will eventually follow. That's what happened with the NBA.

That's why. According to NBC Dallas-Fort Worth's Sanjesh Singh, the WNBA made $2 million in revenue in 2023.
