Am I the only one who actually loves the concept of Triborg? Most people just saw him as a way of shoehorning all the cyborgs into MKX but he's actually canon with his own backstory and his lore expanded on by his many interactions with other characters. I think it's awesome character development for the Cyborgs especially Sektor seeing as how he's become what he has always wanted to be: Almost purely machine. Together with the others, he's pretty much Ultron at this point seeing as he can't truly die as he has no organic form and his concioussness can be transferred at will.
It really sucks how they didn't even bring him into the MK11 story to have any interactions with his past self. I'm just saying that with the right development and and having him expanded on, he has the potential to become one of the best MK characters of all time.

Sektor is easily my fave fighting game character! he has it all! the cool factor, the rockets and teleport, the red color scheme. I love this character.

Regardless of what the people in Netherrealm say, I choose to believe that comics are canon until some other comic or a future story is release that would contradict it. Even then, it would have to contradict the entire event of the comics and not just a small portion of it

This was a great collaboration. I find it funny how the Lin Kuei aren’t ninjas but Sektor has the most ninja-like role in MK 11. He was basically a bodyguard for Frost and by the end of Johnny’s chapter he self destructed to destroy his enemy’s base and give Kano a guarantee escape

Sektor and Cyrax should have been playable characters in MK11 they played vital roles in the story and Smoke really should have returned.
They still can be added
Sector fell victim to identity politics. They included Crappui over him and gave her his signature rockets because they wanted to fill a quota. Same with Frost.
@@PetterNe Frost never was involved in politics just being a female doesn't mean identify politically correct. She had a story in the role of being in the game and was in the last one.
I hate how the Cyborgs are just treated as Jobbers nowadays. As a Sektor fan it sucks to see him lose pretty much every story fight and be treated less then the rest of the cast. In MK13 (when it comes out in 90 years) He should reprise his role as leader of the Tekunin.
Canonically these dudes (especially Sektor) are the kinda guys that could take down a country's government in a single night. They haven't been a genuine threat in MK since the Midway era. They've been a joke since MK9 which is disappointing cause they're so damn cool

Yup, during development those were their placeholder names.
There's also a guy named Mustard who plays Cyrax! He and Ketchup run a YT channel together.

Funny, I just posted exactly this. I believe Sektor in an upgraded, Skynet-esque, form WILL actually be the final boss in a future game. Would be SO much more interesting than another generic sorcerer.

I wonder why Netherealm never released Cyrax or Sector. They were already voiced and programmed which would be quick cash for them.
They're not really programmed properly. They just pulled in Triborg moves from MKX. This is similar to how Rain in MKX just had the moveset pulled in from MK9. They work as opponents, but aren't fully fleshed out in the way that playable characters are. I agree though, a lot of the work is already done.
Secktor & Cyrax should have been DLC characters in MK11, I love their designs
Despite being the most powerful cyborg, Sektor loses almost every story battle simply because he’s a villain. That’s bad story writing right there.
That's a problem with pretty much every villain in Netherrelm games. You almost always play the heroes, so the villains just take turns losing arbitrary story fights, coming off that much less threatening every time.

no it's not it's just normal story writing, especially when you're limited to using a select roster naturally the good guys you play as need bad guys to fight
I really hate the idea of giving fan favorite characters like Sektor and Cyrax new designs that look good but leave them unplayable, if they weren’t gonna be playable then why go that extra mile? Same also applies to Ermac whose another favorite of mine.
Because NRS wants 💰 so if you THINK you'll get what you want, you're more likely to fork over 💵 to NRS 🤑 🪙💲💲💲💲💲

I think they should clear up the reason for the Lin Que seemingly having all kinds of styles of ninja: grey Smoke genies, blue cryomancers and a weird yellow glass bomb and net guy; but later it seems Everyone picks up the Blue outfit. I get that Sektor was Red to maybe denote his status as the son of the boss... or second in command or something... but what if anything did the other colors mean? or was the Old Lin Que actually more INCLUSIVE then the current "Cryomancer ONLY" Line Que.
Sektor's head was taken once by sub zero but defeated by Sub Zero and he said

So now with another reboot we might get some new cyber ninjas maybe hydro, toxic, and maybe some others hopfully 12 will be a little like decption and have a better storyline
Like Deception? Then Ermac and Kenshi need to come back and have the redemption story retold on screen this time around for both new and old audiences.
I'm sorry, but who's Toxic? I'm only familiar with Hydro; except that's really just rain. Don't know why Rain didn't have that as a code name; assuming he spent some time with the Lin Kuei; ad stated in his old bio in the ORIGINAL time-line 🤔

Im not losing hope for Sektor and Cyrax to appear in mk11 and with my speculation for 19 DLC characters is still a realistic possibility.

The lore of mortal kombat is so beautifully cheesy and over the top that you can't help but giggle and love it.
There’s plenty of well written lore as well but the problem is the writers are always inconsistent in their storylines that it just ends up confusing people especially newcomers.
Well that and... they suck. Stick to character designs and abilities. Your story lore is now pointless 😒

I feel if sektor overthrew his father, he could have also converted the grandmaster as a cyber ninja a.k.a triborg who replicates the abilities of sub zero, smoke and cyrax.

3. you got the order of cyrax's story in mk3 and mk4 wrong. cyrax wasn't rescued from the desert and freed from his programming by the sf, he was rescued by the lin keui, but later defected and was then freed by the sf. so there is no retcon.
4. you say a long time passes between 10 and 11. that time is only 2 years though.
That was a great video, but more importantly shows the "multiple" lost opportunities NRS has with the character. Easily the most interesting character in the franchise. But NRS deem it fit to focus on sassy teenage girls over that which made this franchise popular to begin with, so that’s why people are losing interest.

I really don't like how they keep going back and forth with character deaths. They should move the characters forward without killing them unless it is meaningful. In the MK11 DLC skin packs, they gave Kano a cyber suit -- couldn't that have been in the story? Maybe somehow Sektor was so severely busted that you couldn't salvage him , beyond Kano wearing him as a mecha and using the AI? That would have been a fun reveal where everyone thought the color redesign was showing that he's with Kronika and instead it's Kano.
Because this has been a thing since the original timeline, get used to it even if it doesn’t make sense from a narrative standpoint.
He does make a good point from a story perspective though 🤔

I still hold hope that Cyrax is alive and Sektor will see the errors of his ways and both will come back as the "good guys"
I like them both, but having Sektor as a good guy would ruin his character. He is a good "bad guy", he gives the whole Sektor and Cyrax a good dynamic.
I can see even Noob-Saibot becoming good, but Sektor was always the most evil and ruthless Lin Kuei member, he was stated to have no soul at all even as a human, bro is just beyond redemption.
Sektor was actually redeemed in Cyrax's ending in Armageddon. Best thing that ever happened to his character

In the comic MK X he is the most neutral character, who not interesed in plans of Melina and Shinnok, he just develops and serves his clan.

They fled with him to Japan where they formed the Tekunin
so i get that scorpion and the original sub zero are immortal but do they explain when the cyber initiative starts? Like do the ninjas in mortal kombat exist within feudal japan and live to be immortal due to their powers and the cyber initiative is something new? Or did it the cyber initiative start during feudal japan. Sorry if the question is confusing or weird I’m new to the series and have been curious as to how they can have this technology in feudal japan or if there’s an explanation for it.
Don’t forget about the leak that says that there is a high chance that Sektor could be added to MK11
