    Question, I noticed that it has a max capacity mah cut off feature that you can set up. By default its off, but since I have a 4000mAh lipo, is it safe to set it at 4000mAh? I'm assuming that when you plug it in and set it up it can read how much mAh is in there when you go to charge it.

      It is a 2S to 6S charger. 1S batteries only have one cell, so most chargers don't bother with them (no balancing of cells), although if you had the correct connector you could certainly charge a 1s battery with this.

Question for you... should I or can I use my rc car charger that came with the car to charge up the newly made 18650 2s pack (it uses the balance port to charge the battery) or should I get this Imars III charger (thinking of buying it base on your recommendation) to charge with it? • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  Před 3 lety

      Ahhh... you must be from the old school of battery chargers. When you select CHARGE it also always balances the cells to max voltage. When you select BALANCE, it balances the cells at whatever voltage the battery is currently at. When you select STORAGE, it reduces the voltage to a storage voltage and balances the cells. When you select DISCHARGE it reduces the voltage to a much lower voltage so that you can recycle the battery, it also balances the cells.

      I guess you'd have to try it to find out. The battery voltage and mAh are all normal, but the question is... does your battery have an XT60 connector and a Balance Cable? If so, then you would use CHARGE. I'm guessing you only have a Balance connector... if that is the case then I have no idea if it works.

    • @CAPTAINDRONE798
      @CAPTAINDRONE798  Před 5 měsíci +1

      It depends on the charger as they all use descriptive titles. If a charger has only one option to charge then it often charges until all cells are the same voltage. Normally BALANCING is when you want all cells to be the same voltage with or without charging.

      @@joshmarauder I guess I was not clear enough in explaining that one is NOT to look at the descriptive title of the item selected because it is not the same across all chargers (a company can write what they wish to describe a process). I'm sorry but I don't think that this is a great deal to be honest... I mean, it's basically the same as an imax b6 charger, except for this one having a 100w rating instead of 80w for the Imax, but that isn't an issue, since this one has a 5 amp limit, so you won't even reach above 80 watts if you are charging 4s battery's... And a knock off b6 can be had for $20 on banggood... Yes, they might be a knock off, but they really work great, I've used them for years and their accuracy have been great... I think those are the real steal of a deal... Otherwise it's a great review though!

      Again, this charger comes with a built in power supply, it comes with the common cables and it is from a legit battery company. The B6 charger, with power supply is not going to be the same price and it does not include the common cables and many are a knock-off (China) and not 100% North American certified. However, it is the goto budget charger and even I have two of them, purchased years ago when I first got into the hobby.
