      Heck yeah, post workout I'll have a sweet potato with butter and pure maple syrup on it, and a half pound of ground beef with a half cup of plain kefir, and two tablespoons of nutritional yeast mixed into it.

    Skip the whole grains if you don’t like em. Look at the relative fiber content and the health benefits are negligible at best. Fruits, veggies and legumes are the best option by far, starches are best for keeping you alive during the winter

      White potato works for me too, my body takes to them well. I think the white potato is underrated sometimes, they are very nutrient dense and very cheap.

    Yes this is true, my workout takes me 3 hrs and I’m eating fruit, veggies, and whole grains unprocessed Whole Foods of course. Not killing myself in the gym for bullshit food

    Honestly just eat skittles and chocolate bars. Best post workout meal and recovery meal by far. A close second is McDonald’s followed by Dunkin’ donuts followed by Starbucks followed by Wendy’s followed by honey buns and than top that off with a large 2L of Coca-Cola

    The faygo lets me know you're about it 😂. Kids today have terrible fitness influencers. I remember the 2000s early 2010s being the peak for the fitness industry on CZcams. Not only were most in shape but they were also very knowledgeable without having to read of scripts or wiki 😂. R.i.P Greg Plitt but he was my first true role model

      When I was young, my metabolism was so fast that I couldn't gain weight.
      I ate 10,000 calories a day to pt mass on.
      Heavyweight Gainer 2,500 shakes with a cup of peanut butter, milk, oatmeal mixed in. I had that crap twice a day.

    Right on Dr Mike! Full glycogen stores feels great! I'm 5'8" 200lbs and training day Macros are 450-500g carbs, 265g protein, and 27-50g fats.

      I used to eat too little for Years of HARD TRAINING. Very little progress.
      Now I eat bowls of rice and potatoes throughout the day. Suddenly my strength explodes through the roof 😂

      @@carlpanzram7081 before I had the coach I have now I didn't realize how much I was under eating. My carbs are double what they were a year ago, protein up about 60g, and fats cut in half. I'm a completely different looking 200lbs than I was this time last year. Pretty crazy to see the transformation. My coach sent me a picture of the old me next to the new me and I couldn't help but laugh at the difference.

      @@balla2828 I have a coach I check in with every two weeks. That's my current phase 4 post contest rebound. We're taking advantage of my high insulin sensitivity in this growth phase. From this post I'm up to 202lbs now and still very lean. This is why I have a coach rather than piecing things together from info for the general population of bodybuilders.

      If you're at 20-30%, you've got plenty of carbs lol. Unless you're eating way too much fats and protein. Basically nobody above 15% is eating 'not enough carbs'

    I'm fascinated by the idea of my body creating it's on glycogen on the carnivore diet. I have no idea of the science behind it but I'm hoping to learn more in time as we study more carnivores. All I know is that it is called Gluconeogenesis.

      That just means you get energy from eating meat. Its not a novel concept. The problem is your body is much more efficient pulling energy out of carbs.
      It's like having to remove the shell from each pistachio before you eat it. Way easier to get them pre shelled

      @cd0cd036 Lectins, Oxalates, Phytate, Tannins and a couple more I can't think of right now, found in plants (and grains etc) and actively DRASTICALLY block the absorption of nutrients from foods...

    Wha!? Carbs aren't protein! Sure they're necessary for energy (which protein doesn't do nearly as well) but PROTEIN!
