    In 1982 my mom bought me a guitar at a yard sale from an old lady for $50. The paint was warn. It was a 1956 Fender Stratocaster. 🤑

    Church sales I found the most gold for ¢50 ..2 weekends ago got a $800 14k XOXO necklace for ¢50 ..three others pieces that were 14k and all added up to 1800 for less than $20. I gave a little extra cuz I felt bad, but was so stoked❤

    I feel much better after watching this video. I’ve found several single loop earrings that are 10,14, and 18k. I’ve been holding on to them just because I knew they’re gold. Glad to know KP represents real gold and isn’t plated or something. 🙂
    Thanks. Good looking out. 😎

    I think it is important to note that there are springs in the clasps of most bracelets and necklaces that will be magnets and stick to the magnet. That will still be fine.

    Is there any scrap value at all for gold filled items? I basically got two 12kt GF tie clips for free the other weekend at an estate sale. Just curious if it would be worth my time to take it to a local gold buyer for a quick profit

      Magnet just saves time. If there are 10 rings and 9 are magnetic then you only need to inspect one

    • @katiebailey9180
      @katiebailey9180 Před 3 lety +1

      @@SilverSeeker Very true. But I am also looking at stones, not just metal content. Which is why I use the loup to look for hallmarks and then stones. Even a junk ring can have real stones that you can remove and utilize for another piece of jewelry. I know you are concentrating on metal, which is super important, but I look farther into the possibilities. Metal isn't the only thing that will hold value if the physical money is dissolved in favor of Ecommerce! Just my thoughts. Thanks for replying! 😊

  • @TheBigMclargehuge

    I think it's extremely unethical to knowingly buy gold from someone who is ignorant that they have gold. It's like fooling a blind man into thinking he's giving you a $1 bill when he's giving you $100 bill.

    • @SilverSeeker
      @SilverSeeker  Před 3 lety +1

      At a yard sale? Disagree... the person holding the sale didn't pay you to come be an expert and appraise his goods, and if he didn't take the time to research the items before he put them on sale at his own yard sale then that's on him. Now if he say walked into a coin or gold shop and they gave him bad info or lied to him then yes, that's unethical.
