  • Update 05-20-19. I have put 140 hours on the bike. The OEM Clutch and Rekluse basket are still working perfectly, no drag at all and starts in gear no problem. I have been changing the oil with Rotella T6 every 2 hours of ride time.
Update 12-30-18. I have put 120 hours on the bike since I installed the OEM clutch and rekluse basket in this video. I still have ZERO issues with clutch dragging and continue to race hare scrambles for AMA District 17.
    This video was made 01/15/2016.
The OEM Clutch Kit FIXED all of my issues with the clutch dragging, also I run Shell Rotella T6 oil.
I have put 65 hours on the bike since this video was made, which 90% was hare scramble racing and the clutch still works great.
Update 12/21/17 Just wanted to let everyone know that the oem clutch is still working great a zero clutch dragging issues. I know the OEM clutch is expensive but I have another 70hrs on the bike and it still is working great. 80% of the hours on this bike is race time.
    Hope this helps

Unbelievable! Informative, clear, logical presentation AND follows up with the outcome of the fix. What a champion!
Anyway, than you very much for the great info. My EXC has the same symptoms and same dimpled plate kit. I will try factory parts and see you it works. Thanks again.

I bought the rekluse torque core manual drive clutch and I have noticed that it does not want to disengage. I have to pull the clutch lever all the way in for it to disengage the gears. Same thing It doesn't want to start in gear. Im wondering if I need to up my change the position from 1 to 2 on my pressure plate

Good info. I have opposite issue. Stock ktm clutch dragging bad. Put in new clutch basket and new OEM clutch, lasted 10 hours and dragging again. Going to try tusk clutch and see what happens, glad you put out your review though, it gives perspective. What oil weight are you using?

Your video just helped me a lot ! If my 250sx was off, and in gear with clutch pulled in, and you tried to push it, it would try to turn over the engin.. I think I’m just gonna have to pony up and get new basket and clutches..

Yep, dragging clutch. You idle mine and it dies. The dealer was out of the stock kit as was RMATV. Ordered up this one. Been on for a couple rides and two races. It was killing me last weekend when I got hung in a mesquite tree! Wish I'd have seen your video before I bought mine. I was about to rip it apart and check the adjustment on the belville washer to make sure its flat. I have a 13 with the slightly different pressure plate and inner hub. Its the DDS set up. Was planning to inspect the clutch basket. It looked good when I pulled the stock one out (It was hammered and slipping at anything over a 1/4 throttle). My next move after inspecting the basket and making sure the tension on the springs was correct was to order up the stock kit. Might just do that and toss this stuff in a bag for a spare! Its a expensive for a lesson if my basket is wreaked.... live and learn.

I replaced my clutch kit with the oem one, replaced the push rod, Bleed air from the system like 10 times, rebuilt the clutch slave cylinder. the busket and the hub have a veryyyy small notches barely can feel them .
Using the Motorex 10W50 4T oil. KTM 300 EXC 2012.
