- Just as a church is more than a building, a Rosary is more than just a linked set of beads, or simply a prayer aid. The Mysteries of the Rosary center on the events of Christ's life, repetition in the Rosary is meant to lead one into restful and contemplative prayer related to each Mystery. And just as a church can ignite particular feelings and memories, so too can a Rosary, bringing us on a unique path to our goal of welcoming Christ in our hearts.
In this video, Jacob Smith, a third-year candidate with the Priests of the Sacred Heart, shares the stories behind several of his favorite rosaries. He includes his first Rosary, one that he received in Rome shortly before his conversion to Catholicism. "It was the first Rosary that I prayed the Rosary with," he said.

Love this post!!! I converted 41 yrs ago. Our Mother has been with me since childhood through the Rosary. I make them give to cancer patients where I received treatments 3 1/2 yrs ago. I've collected special rosaries over the years and give as gifts to family. They love them!!! 🙏📿🛐🕊️ as you study for the priesthood!!!
I have been praying the rosary for the Holy Souls everyday for over 31 years. I will pray to Our Lady's for her protection of you're vocation as a priest.

I have a rosary and plan on getting a Saint Michael chaplet (thing is I'm a Baptist and I love the rosary I think it is a beautiful devotion and a great way to meditate on the life of our lord)

I prayed the Rosary yesterday with a friend of mine in her late 80s, she has a great devotion to the Immaculate heart of Mary and Adoration of the Holy Eucharist.
At the end of the Rosary she said to me "have a look at my beads, but be careful, they are like myself, delicate!!
How old do you think they are, the date is engraved on the cross, but hard to make out as it is worn, she said.
She handed me the beads, the bronze cross on the beads was a Penal Cross, after some time I could make out the date engraved on the Cross, which was 1725.

Have you heard about Timoleague Chalice? An irish family in Timoleague had a bundle left by the priest in penal times. They were told somebody will come to collect it but nobody claimed it. After 200 years they decided to open it, it contained chalice and vestments. I admired their patience, honesty. Now I wish they waited a bit more. Chalice ended up in the museum instead of being used. Soon 'hard times may come again'.

I had six rosaries at one point I just started collecting them and then I gave him away to people that I thought could use them because they were catholic and fell away and I keep on urging them just say the rosary and I hope they will , and I just happened stop at an antique store and I found another rosary but I like and I ended up buying it and I've had it blessed twice, and on my next payday I'm going to go out and buy the other 4 rosaries at the antique store and I will give them away people that I think that could use them and hopefully they will save them and I did end up buying 1000 Hail Mary rosary where you say 50 decades of each Mystery and just to say all the Mysteries on the thousand Hail Mary rosary takes about 5 hours it is actually fun say a rosary 1,000 * and I didn't end up saying on the thousand Hail Mary rosary just the joyful and it took me a little over an hour and since I don't watch TV anymore I have nothing better to do let me pray my rosary.
Do you know channel GabiAfterHours? Recently he spoke about mental prayer and how it can deepen rosary prayer as well. I do the same, get and give away. I like to have rosaries around the house so I can start prayer any time.
I don't collect rosaries. I keep them around the house to have them always at hand and use them or give away. It's prayer that counts. I make and fix them.

Your fist rosary contains cross which is upsetting to me. One of old prophecies says in the end of times sign of cross will be changing. This started with this cross of JPII. Upper arm, isn't straight. Now we have strange crosses of Francis.
