    I’ve watched a crazy amount of videos about PH Malik... some had some PH management and a few had some PH manipulation and this video stands out... very well done my friend.

    Would it be possible to do a video on the L140? Or do you have an idea for breeding these?
    I have a group of 12 grown ups. They are really big (at least 4 years old each) but they do never breed. The PH is around 6.5 and my water seems fine. I have a strong current and lots of flow. They have around 20 caves and lots of oxigen and grass. Maybe it's the guppies? Is it too crowded? Theres around 50-80 guppies in the aquarium too.. I have them in a big aquarium of 1m20 wide. Just can't find a lot out there about these fish and not 1 single video on youtube about breeding.

    Hey Malik! Great vid, lots of info to digest! I bought 2 more 1.5 inch babies, so now have 9! Just 3 years to wait!! Oh, they had 1 of the cory you have, rare in england, but hope to get another! My water parameters are, temp 27c, no3 15ppm after 1 week( weekly 20%h2o change) , no No2, GH approx 15, kh5, ph7 ( tap water)! All doing really well, eating lots of baby snails!!!!! I had to put some in they ate all the babies snails!!!! Tds and ec is probably 350-400!!!! So I will start using ro 50%to bring it down to less than 200! Really appreciate all the time u guys do behind the scenes to bring us hobbist the info!!

    • @AquaMalik
      @AquaMalik  Před 4 lety

      hey Terry, that's great mate, congratulations on the two new fish! my recommendation is to keep them in your tap water without altering anything until they are sexually mature .. once ready to breed then it will be easier for you to trigger spawns with just bit of RO ! Ill explain this in detail on next zeb video!

      @@AquaMalik hi malik! Super happy I've managed to buy 9! Yeh, I'm checking the h2o daily to see when the kh settles to around 8dkh! Was really surprised the ph was still on 7!!!! I was also thinking keep using tap (ph7 kh10 gh17) until sexual mature, then ro to bring the kh down! But I really think checkin h20 daily is a key element! I will go to the expense of getting a digital reader for all parameters! They about £500! But worth it in the long run! Now I'm guna watch u feeding raw turkey to ur dog! God bless!

    • @AquaMalik
      @AquaMalik  Před 4 lety +1

      Terry Stratford personally I think keeping in ur tap water is the best idea for long term success- if they need a trigger u can add small amounts of pure RO or rain water to bring kh down a bit which is what Thomas suggests as well - so this is literally what the next update on them is suppose to be lol

    Thank you Malik for your videos, you are a wealth of information. I just wanted to ask have you or anyone else reading this tried coconut coir in your tank to lower the ph! I’ve used coconut coir on my tank and in my filtration system and it usually lowers the ph while absorbing a lot of metals also!

    Hi so my ph is 8 out of the tap I’m trying to get some of my black rams and l number plecos to breed I have just ordered a ro unit and I was thinking if I do a 20% water change and I add 5% ro and 15% tap water will that bring my ph down a little I was going to do this slowly and try and keep an eye on the ph I don’t like to mess with my water but my rams have not bred in 3 months I wasn’t going do di the ro water as my tap is very hard what do you think

    • @AquaMalik
      @AquaMalik  Před 2 lety +1

      start with smaller amounts of RO to tap mix and see how much the ph might change.. once u get an idea you can slowly increase the RO mix ratio till desired ph is achieved.. its a bit of trial and error unfortunately

    Can l46 breed in bare bottom tanks? As it is much easier to clean n maintain. Or is saand a must for breeding ?

    If your bringing your tank down to the point the tank could crash that's not healthy. It's almost like your force breeding your fish and in my opinion you pay really good money for the L046 zebra pleco so i really wouldn't want to take a chance on it. That's my opinion tho. While im on a good friend of mine who sadly died a few a years ago was the best breeder in the UK and he had L046 spawning in PH 8.0 +
