This time, I was so grateful that I could preview the storyline of "White Snake II: The Tribulation of the Green Snake" 《白蛇2:青蛇劫起》before singing its theme song "Asking Flowers" 《問花》; it enabled me to have a better understanding of each verse of the lyrics. Both the story and the music are not as unrestrained and straightforward as those from previous times; they are even more about the inner dialogues, the struggles, and conflicts within oneself. From "Genesis" 《緣起》to "Asking Flowers" 《問花》, I have witnessed the growth of the character Xiao Qing(小青) and her transformation in the heart. From being worry-free and straightforward when she screamed and got angry in the first movie; to having an unrelenting obsession with her seen in the sequel. Is this "obsession" a predestined tribulation or serendipity? Why can't she bear to part with it? In the end, had "the obsession" or Xiao Qing caught inside the endless loop and trapped? Will that "very moment being waited for" come true?? And what does "the flower" in the song title represent??

Is the movie out internationally tho?
The English dubbed version is currently released on Netflix under the film titled 《White Snake 2: Green Snake》, or "White Snake 2: The Tribulation of the Green Snake". The movie made its theater release run in China in July 2021. Theater release is underway in Australia(Nov 16) and is still upcoming in Brazil. (Yay!) Netflix releases are already out in some countries and are also scheduled for more globally in the 2021 holiday season.
