Ranjit u forgot to mention some known issue of S3
1) Sudden Death or Sudden Hard Brick
2) sometimes S3 just explodes while charging (check gsmarena blog section)
3) sometime smart stay doesnt work etc

Thanks for difference between both. I am too using S3 since 10 months or so. But I like Nova Launcher instead of Touch wiz. Nova makes phone so smooth that you hardly find any lag.
Yes you are right, nexus 4 has throttling which causes gpu and cpu slows down, in india it will pretty quickly get hot due to temperature and will cause cpu to slow down

Hi Ranjit.. Very helpful video. One question. What do you feel about HTC one x compared with nexus 4. Should I move to nexus 4 if I am a HTC one x owner?
Actually I just got my nexus 4 like a week ago I'm happy with it and the battery life is pretty good by turning off gps and nfc and some other things I'm living it :)

The International s3 is quad core, 1gb ram.
The north american version is Dual Core, 2Gb ram.

Hi Ranjit nice video comparison of Nexus 4 and S3 but i personally prefer S3 bcoz two main reasons Storage and upgradable Android OS and even Nexus 4 is great but the only drawback is the storage otherwise its the best android phone in this price range

Thanks. This video tells me exactly what I want to know. There's no need for all that 'production value' unless there's a practical usage. For future videos, might I suggest a comparison between GPS lock times as well? I find that is an undervalued subject in a situation where pin-point accuracy and lock-times are important for us living/traveling in the city.
My N4 easily lasts the day and it gts warm not hot!!! Maybe you were using it few months back. Updates have brought improvements or I guess I just might be lucky!
Once N4 is rooted Use Set CPu or android overclock to change the CPU frequency form 1.5 GHz -> .1.2 or less thus this will save up battery little bit as well as it wont heat up much

Nexus 4 is oriented to be used by developers. The reason why one should prefer nexus4 is that it is "unlocked" which means we can use all the custom roms like cyanogen mod on it, without breaking the guarantee. Even Ubuntu touch is seen working on Nexus4. Hence for those of us who are android developers, or techno-freaks, Nexus 4 is the best choice over any mobile produced yet, as it provides the best hardware and space to make modification on source code and try and yet not loose warranty.
Battery life is decent for the n4 camera is pretty good once you get use to it the n4 is ridiculously fast and will be the first of the androids to get admin updates I'd go for the n4 I've played around with the s3 and I'd go for the s3 for expandable storage and removable battery

You are lucky one of my friend bought Nexus 4 and he used to get 3-4 hours of battery life before he needed to run for the plug. He sold it out.
Nexus 4 also have more powerful processor which is qualcomm snapdragon s4 pro

using my nexus 4 with Franco kernel and getting a battery life of 1 day 10 hrs+ with 3.5 hrs of screen time !

cant say about india but here in UK nexus 4 is awesome..i personally use it and the battery life is good..i get around 14 hours on moderate use (always on wifi)..camera sux big time!!

your wrong sir...international version of s3 has quadcore processor adn 1 gb ram... what your referring to is usa version with dual core s4 processor adn 2 gb ram :) ..

The nexus 4 is an amazing phone it has no lag in games nor any ware I had the phone for a couple of months and I hated the fact that the back will get hot and the battery life is horrible but I love the fact that it has no lag and always stays fast because of the 1.5ghz quad core processor but at the same time the galaxy s3 is not bad it dose lag time to time but not as bad as you think it would and I love all the features also the processor is not that bad

In theory yes, but check nexus 4 vs s3 gta vice city performance video on youtube, s3 clearly has better graphics and less lag than nexus 4....

S3 will still always beat nexus 4 in battery life because of the AMOLED screen which consumes WAY less battery as compared to N4's HD IPS

Nexus 4 is best for gaming also because it has more PPI which is 320ppi and the GPU on this phone is one of the best GPU in world whereas s3 has a slightly lower PPI which is 306 PPI and GPU is not as far as the nexus 4 gpu
i read in one of the review that when the phone hangs n feezes it does not hard rest by pressing and holding power button or power + volume button......n we hav to wait till d battery completly ends ???

lol .. international version is i9300 which has 1gb ram all over the world and has quad care exynos processor.
s3 i9305 LTE version only has 2 gb which is not sold internationally.

go for xperia sp nexus is good phone but have crap battery life ...s3 is way good but is old now and xperia sp is way better have bigger battery and higher ppi display than s3...and the price point the xperia sp is most affordable medium high end phone than s3..and have a powerful andreno 320 gpu than .s3 mali-400.

If you're getting only 10 hours of battery life on your Nexus 4, you're using it wrong.
Poor battery life and no storage expansion makes Nexus 4 a bad choice :(

I don't know about s3 but this nexus's camera and battery life really sucks man........ with heavy usage battery won't last more than 4 to 5 hours.

There are few things you missed out in this video. Here are those:
1. Galaxy S3 supports USB OTG and Nexus 4 doesn't (that was the deal-breaker for me!)
2. Galaxy S3 comes with huge CODEC support for audio and video whic is definitely less for the N4.
3. Galaxy S3 has a better display (though the resolution is same) as far as Indian outdoor conditions are concerned as it is quite bright in here.
4. I never found S3 lagging if the power saving mode is off. It lags only when the PS mode is on!
5. Nexus 4 has a glass back which makes it twice as prone to shattering on a fall as compared to S3. N4 is actually quite a fragile phone.
6. I have always found accessories more easily for the S3 because the omnipresence of the device in India.
7. For those seeking Pure Android experience which is missing on the S3, they can always root the phone and install custom ROMs which are plenty for the device and make it really faster than it already is!
I am sure this will help many of you trying to go for a better phone in a slightly mid-range budget! Happy androiding!
Also the non-removable battery for a device with a horrendoous battery is not always welcome! Add to it a non-expandable storage! What were you thinking Google releasing N4 so late in India and at such a huge price tag!
