LSU grad here, thanks Ethan for the comment. This was a magical season where everything came together. The planets aligned, coaches were great, players were coachable, and the unselfish approach by coaches and players all year long, may never happen again.
LSU seemingly beat every team with a single digit in front of their football team this season. It was like I was watching a different sport than the "analysts" and playoff committee this season. It was straight up disrespectful when the committee moved OSU into the #1 position after they beat a semi-alright team in Penn State. The talking heads mostly pointed at the defense as the reason LSU was not as good as Ohio State or Clemson when in reality LSU was ranked #13 (9.4 points) in the nation in first half defense (points allowed) while their offense was averaging 27.9 points for the first half. Yes the defense slacked off, but the games were out of hand early and often. I think most of these "people" judged LSU by the stat lines and final scores rather than watching the games. Whilst saying that, I don't think it would have mattered who we played or what our rank was in the playoffs, but it was really annoying having to listen to these "dumb&sses" all year and I'm glad we finished the way we did. Geaux Tigers.
@Steven Jackson Both teams had ridiculous pass interference calls on them that were huge. One was the interception LSU had that got taken back by a phantom PI & the touchdown that Clemson scored that was taken back by offensive PI. I agree that it should have been a TD, but I also think the terrible officiating was a wash.
@Steven Jackson LSU owned all the teams that they played this year. It did not matter who they were going to play, because they were head and shoulders better than the rest of College Football. Officials blew calls on both sides during the NC and even if OSU would have made it to the NC, they would've been blown out the water too. So stop the whining and recognize that this is the Best Team in College Football History. You're being a Homer, go eat a Snickers.

They had legit 6-7 weapons on offense. All the receivers were studs. QB was legendary. If the pass game didn’t go they had a beast of a RB who dominated #1 Alabama and the closest game they had. And their defense was solid.
Clemsons defense in the first quarter, and really first half, was unbelievable. Three straight three and outs against the best offense in college football history is more than impressive. Once the offense stalled out though the defense got tired. They started missing tackles and blowing assignments. I’m not saying they weren’t giving one hundred percent but it’s too tall a task to stop that LSU offense over and over and over again without your offense producing any points. I think clemson May have the best defensive scheme and mind in Brent Venables. Certainly the most creative and deceptive.
The only reason that defense got stops was penalties or LSU being backed up to the goal line other than that after LSU figured them out it was OVER for them
@@hunter4net501 Cmon, what game were you watching? Clemson's Venebles had a great strategy to start the game but once LSU made adjustments, and our offense misfired over and over on 3rd down, the defense was gassed.

I think it's just simply still the way they play offensively. LSU plays like Pac-12 & Big-12 teams but they have Bama Ohio St level players within such a spread out aggressive scheme. Even team's like Ohio St, Clemson, bama all have great players but offensively they play slightly slower, more patiently, & more focused on establishing a running game. LSU is a pass first team that doesn't play patient, they're looking for big chunk plays & home run balls all game. They remind me of Oklahoma, 2012-15 Oregon, 2014-15 Baylor, 2013-16 TCU, except LSU has the best caliber players in CFB & those teams don't. I think the overall nature & mentality of the offense combined with the ridiculous talent they have makes them this good. Jordan Bowman bama with tua is still a top team last year. No defensive issues just called playing in the SEC. not everybody gets a cakewalk like clemaon
They were not so much better than anyone else, they were LUCKY to have beat Alabama. Tua was playing with one leg, and a couple of unforced errors by Alabama. 1. Tua dropping and fumbling the ball with no one even around him. 2. Punter dropping a perfect snap. This changed the entire 1st half and as everyone knows Alabama whipped them bad the 2nd half. Alabama beats LSU with a 100% healthy Tua!

OSU was about the same as Clemson, hence the final score of that game. LSU proved they can beat any team this year by double digits, by finishing the season the way they did. UGA owned, Oklahoma annihilated, and then manhandled Clemson. Please drop the act like OSU was a legit threat. LSU's team this year was a generational team that will always be considered one of the greatest. 7 Top 10 wins, beat all 4 preseason Top 4 teams, 5 of the top 8 in the Final Rankings, and the list keeps on going and going.
To be clear, OSU was looking to put up 50-60+ on Clemson till that targeting call took the wind out of their sails, scoring on 4 of its first 5 possessions while LSU punted on 4 of its first 5 possessions. Jus sayin..
Bojokowski Imagine actually believing one single targeting call is the reason Ohio State scored twenty fewer points than LSU. It’s simple really. Dobbins had two unfortunate important drops and Brent Venables figured you guys out.

I’ve been saying I think the raiders are gonna trade and get him I can see Gruden doing it
I hope so
Let’s not forget auburn was a three point game Auburn’s the only team that gave LSU a run for their money
William Heacock true but same time auburn had win 2 offsides and was down by liek 13 with 5 mins left that game was over bro LSU been milking the clock in 4th the whole season
Talkin with meeks podcast!check it out!
Saints brass are in talks with the Bengals. Kamara and another player are involved. Plus a few picks....Payton told our GM to go get him (Burrows). Just passing it along.....it’s all over the SAINTS forums...BURROW and BREES are close along with MICHAEL THOMAS. BURROW is friends with MT13. it’s not impossible, there have been numerous blockbuster trades. Eagles went up to grab WENTZ, Falcons for JULIO. IT HAPPENS...
interesting.....
Slippery.... the falcons traded everything for like 2 or 3 guys and look at them now
Hate when people think that the best team in any given college football season could beat the worst team in the nfl. Absolutely ridiculous and it would never be competitive , the worst nfl teams are superior to any college team in all aspects.
aht?
*except georgia
My opinion is Ohio State would have a strong chance at beating LSU . I realize we lost to Clemson and everyone seen that . The Ohio State secondary and pass rush would be effective against LSU . Joe Burrow would have a lot of incentive against Ohio State and vice versa .
Told u all year LSU was the best, then Clemson, they your Ohio state
No
I know bama lost to auburn but I believe they could've beaten both ohio and clemson. That iron bowl was a fluke lol
@@haroldhall1517 No, but you could swap Bama for Uga at #4 in final rankings.
Harold Hall Why would you think that with defensive issues Bama had all year?
Jordan Bowman bama with tua is still a top team last year. No defensive issues just called playing in the SEC. not everybody gets a cakewalk like clemaon
Five year senior with no classes played a big difference.
He did have classes. He just took them online. Nothing wrong with that
Hi pat
Jambalaya Joe Burrow
They were not so much better than anyone else, they were LUCKY to have beat Alabama. Tua was playing with one leg, and a couple of unforced errors by Alabama. 1. Tua dropping and fumbling the ball with no one even around him. 2. Punter dropping a perfect snap. This changed the entire 1st half and as everyone knows Alabama whipped them bad the 2nd half. Alabama beats LSU with a 100% healthy Tua!
the targeting rule is too soft. you can get called for targeting so easily nowadays. kinda wack
dude speared justin jefferson. i get that football is turning soft but that’s a little too much
Don’t lead with the crown of your helmet. It’s that simple. They tell peewee league kids this.
zeke marchese he was diving over his teammate to make the tackle and he got hit in the damn shoulder pads like cmon. gonna be playing 2 hand touch soon at this rate
@@advise1908 wtf are you talking about. Dude straight up turned himself into a spear. If you're looking at the ground while tackling you're an idiot.
@Steven Jackson ok boomer
3 points better than Auburn. 7 better than Texas....
Imagine the browns trading baker (because he is trash) and there first rounder to the bengals and have burrow throwing to Obj and Landry 🤯
They didnt play OSU say cant say everyone else
OSU was about the same as Clemson, hence the final score of that game. LSU proved they can beat any team this year by double digits, by finishing the season the way they did. UGA owned, Oklahoma annihilated, and then manhandled Clemson. Please drop the act like OSU was a legit threat. LSU's team this year was a generational team that will always be considered one of the greatest. 7 Top 10 wins, beat all 4 preseason Top 4 teams, 5 of the top 8 in the Final Rankings, and the list keeps on going and going.
C W83 That would have surely been a game, I think osu was clearly the better team between them and clemson
offensive holding. one reason they were as good as they were
Because they had a better team lol!
is he high, i mean i’m agreeing with everything he says, but is he high?
sportster hopeful hungover from the game lol
To be clear, OSU was looking to put up 50-60+ on Clemson till that targeting call took the wind out of their sails, scoring on 4 of its first 5 possessions while LSU punted on 4 of its first 5 possessions. Jus sayin..
Yeah but who scored more huh? Lsu or Ohio state??
Bojokowski Imagine actually believing one single targeting call is the reason Ohio State scored twenty fewer points than LSU.
It’s simple really. Dobbins had two unfortunate important drops and Brent Venables figured you guys out.
Looks like he stopped all that, sometime during the game.mixing it up .
i do not say this to be mean but your on air partner looked like he was you son and you were taking him to his first game
Dear Ohio State fans,
That's what the REAL #1 team looks like.
They weren't so much better than everybody else they beat to Alabama and Auburn by a combined 8 points
