I worked with Sean Taylor's uncle near tampa florida. His family was so damn proud of what he turned into (and rightfully so). Some people (and even some of these new rappers) try to act like they are "from the streets", Sean Taylor was legit from the streets, and for him to pick himself up and putting himself in a waaaay better position in life, just to get it taken away is sad to say the least......RIP young man.

Anyone who was around to witness that 2001 Hurricanes squad knows how that team was just otherworldly talented. Just filthy talent at every position pretty much. If the Canes decided to start the backups that year they would have still destroyed the competition the way they did that year. Ken Dorsey was a very good college quarterback on top of that. Very good 4 year starter. The saying that year was that The 2001 Hurricanes could have beaten the 2001 Cleveland Browns head to head.

He was the Maxwell winner, could have won the Heisman and carved up Big East defenses the way that Tua does in the SEC, and obviously Miami could have 3-peated. 2001 was a revenge tour for 2000, and I hated the Canes back then, but even the ESPN college football guys like Tirico, Fowler, and Franklin were suggesting that Miami got cheated in 2000. Musburger had no shame about saying that if you beat a team head to head and have identical records, a couple of computers should not choose the team that lost to you.

2011 Alabama would Beat 08 Florida and 2014 Ohio State. Even with that being said, the 01 canes are arguably the greatest team of all time not even in the last 20 years. That was a literal NFL team in college. Not only did they have an nfl roster they had future hall of famer NFL players not just regular nfl guys. You could line them up against anybody and they would have an advantage

Miami has more skill position talent but they were never tested by a big time team (NFL talent). Plus that era of cfb is so different now. Miami historically struggles against teams that can run downhill b/c their defense is fast but on the slimmer size----not ideal for stout run defense against 3 clouds of dust.
Exactly. That '01 probably had would have had 5 hall of famers on ONE team. That's unheard of on a college team. Name any college that had more than one Hall of Famer on one team. That's what separates them from the rest.

Ken Dorsey only lost 2 games in his entire career as a starting QB in college. And was runner up for the Heisman in 2001 and 2002.
Cardale Jones over Ken Dorsey??? Jones lost his job the next year. If Ken Dorsey finds another year of college eligibility in a cereal box tomorrow morning he’d be in the Canes huddle that afternoon at the age of 39. Co-MVP of the Rose Bowl with Andre Johnson that year.
Ken Dorsey was a First Team All-American in 2002, 2 time Archie Griffin Award winner (college football’s other MVP trophy), a Maxwell Award winner (given to the best all around player in college football every year), and a 2 time Chic Harley Award winner (another award to the best all around player in college every year).
Dorsey was a Heisman runner up to Eric Crouch in 2001. The very same Eric Crouch that was completely shut down and demolished by Dorsey and the Canes in the national title game that year.
And he was runner up to Carson Palmer in 2002. Palmer, undoubtedly the better pro career. But the 2002 Trojans went 10-2 and beat Iowa in the Rose Bowl to finish 4th. The 2002 Canes, led by Dorsey, were a horrible pass interference call in the end zone of an overtime game against Ohio State away from back to back championships and undefeated seasons.
At the end of the day, Carson Palmer lost the same amount of games in his 2002 Heisman winning season (2) as Dorsey lost in his entire career as a starter. 38-2 speaks for itself. And again, if it wasn’t for the BCS computers keeping Miami out of the national championship game in favor of Florida State (who Miami beat that year) and a horrible call in the 2002 title game, Ken Dorsey wins 3 straight national championships at Miami and finishes 39-1. He’s a legitimate college QB GOAT and far greater than Miami’s two Heisman winners Vinny Testaverde and Gino Torretta.
