Holy cow this was driving me crazy, I tried e very setting but the split. Others on the FB Fiber Laser Club were having the same issue so had to share you video.
The split settings have a huge impact with the rotary! I'm able to use my settings for every diameter- it might be a little slower but the results are awesome and extremely consistent! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for setup. Split settings are where I’m failing according to this video. Will try again soon.
You're welcome!
New user…spent hours today trying to get the Rotary to do its job! This video clarifies the setup and I have grabbed as many of the settings as I could. Let you know how it turns out!
@@Goneaway-4-gud I have the rotary working fine my problem now is the image is not the same as in lightburn? I had to install a bigger lens and stretch image (w) from 2.4 to 7 inches to get uniform on the tumbler? Trying for a min to get this process right.
Very helpful video! I do have a few questions. I have a cloudray as well. I got an order to do a tumbler and the image the customer wants. I traced it and scanned it into the program. The rotary is all set up and I’ve used it multiple times before. But for some reason with this image when I press start it pauses itself. Is there certain image pixels I’m supported use? Could there be a setting I need to turned on? I’m not sure what the issue is.
Thanks- I haven't ran across the machine pausing after pressing start. Maybe post on the Cloudray FB group? Best Wishes!
I have the same machine as you and have done many tumblers, but I learned a thing or two today. One question for you. Have you tried to hook the D80 rotary up to a Cloudray CO2 laser? I am not having any success doing so. Cloudray says it should hook right up, and I have done everything they have told me to do. The steps are not correct in that it takes too big a step per increment. All the settings in LightBurn are correct. If you know a trick, I sure would love to hear it because, as you can imagine, it has me quite frustrated.
Thanks! Yes- I have connected my D80 and D100 to the Blue Dream Co2 laser by Cloudray and have it working perfectly- it can be done! To make the connection easier I ordered more connectors like on the Fiber laser to install on the Co2 laser machine. After I finish the next job on the Co2 I'll look up the rotary settings. Thanks for watching!
I don't yet own a fiber but am planning on a Cloudray. I see they have different configurations of rotary options. One has a driver included. Is the cloud ray directly connected to the rotary or does it need a driver. Thank you for answering such a newbie question.
That's a great question and here's the answer- maybe! It depends on if the laser machine has the driver already installed. I ordered mine configured with the correct driver for my machine and the rotary accessory. Any time I order an accessory for the machine I ask Cloudray what the correct compatible accessory is and they look up my machine order and point me in the correct direction!
@@thelaserchannel1 fair enough. When I place the order I'll check with them ahead of time. New question :) I was planning on ordering a 100 watt MOPA to do deep metal engraving. Is 100 appropriate or is it overkill and I should back that down? I've been trying to research fiber/MOPA as much as I can but I have no experience at all with it.
@@chrisschrecengost1235 You are defiantly asking all the right questions before making your purchase! If you're main goal is deep engraving and color engraving the AR-100 is a better route (same price). Here's link to it: shrsl.com/49shz
Do you find the speed and power settings need to be changed based on the color of the powder coat?
Yes- I've found is the easiest. Other colors are similar setting's but black needs far less power.
Thanks, I started with dark blue, and then the lighter colors kicked my behind.

Thanks! The image you traced; I haven't ran across that issue. I think the issue is more on the Lightburn side- I recommend posting in the Lightburn Facebook group. You'll be able to post photos and screen shots of your issue and hopefully get a fast response! Best wishes.
