Tinky Winky (played by Dave Thompson, Mark Heenehan, and Simon Shelton) is the first Teletubby. He is the largest of the Teletubbies, is covered in purple terrycloth, and has a triangular antenna on his head. He is notable for the red luggage (described by the show as a "magic bag", but often described by other media as a handbag) he always carries. His character has caused controversy due to allegations that his character's behavior, bag and body colour have homosexual connotations (see below).
Dipsy (played by John Simmit) is the second Teletubby. He is green and is named "Dipsy" because his horn resembles a dipstick. He likes his black and white furry top hat, which he once lost and later found. He is the most stubborn of the Teletubbies, and will sometimes refuse to go along with the other Teletubbies' group opinion. His face is also notably darker than the rest of the Teletubbies, and the creators have stated that he is Black.[7]
Laa-Laa (played by Nikki Smedley) is the third Teletubby. She is yellow, and has a curly antenna. She likes to sing and dance, and is often seen to look out for the other Teletubbies. Her favourite thing is a bouncy, orange ball, which is almost as big as she is.
Po (played by Pui Fan Lee) is the fourth and last Teletubby. She is the smallest and youngest of the Teletubbies, is red, and has an antenna shaped like a stick used for blowing soap bubbles. Her favourite object is her scooter, which she calls "scoota" (she also calls it "Po 'cooter!", or just "cooter"). Po can sometimes be mischievous and naughty, as when she disobeys the commands of the "voice trumpets". She has been stated by the show's creators to be Cantonese[7], and as such, she is bilingual, speaking both English and Cantonese. Although many are unsure of Po's gender, or consider her to be male[citation needed], she is clearly referred to as female in several episodes, such as in the episode "Dad's Portrait". Many refer to her as "he" even though it is "she" (the same happens with Laa-Laa).

planetX15 She hid it from everyone except her family. She came out to her university friends first and told them she was the sun, who then encouraged her to post it on Facebook. This video was made back around 2007. She would've been 10 or 11 years old back then.

I knew it! I knew Po was Chinese! Like when I was growing up and didn't attend preschool yet, at home I only spoke Chinese. And I thought I understood Po the most. Also when I was a kid I always thought Tinky Winky was a guy because dark blue colors I would associate with boys I never thought him carrying a red handbag made him gay or any less of a boy. I still think it's okay and I was always jealous that he got a cool red handbag.

I believe the Teletubbies started in 1997 and ended 2007. If she was a toddler (about 5 years old) in let's say 1997, then that would mean that person is 25 now. So that person is probably around 25

Omg. I always knew Dipsy was the black guy of the group. He was always so chill. He was my second favorite right behind tinky winky. If you watch the little segment where they're saying their names, dipsy would always do this little dance. He had the most rhythm.

They used Flemish giant rabbits during filming, which grow to be around the size of a medium-sized dog and weigh generally between 6 and 10 kilograms. Mind you, I'm far from an expert on rabbits, but I read about them somewhere a while back.

I watched Teletubbies my whole life as a kid. It thanks to them making my childhood more bright and funny and inspiring the spark of my imagination to this day. And even today I still smile at the sight of Teletubbies cause of the good memories I have with them. The cuteness, the comedy and the whole experience was truly heartwarming for it reminded me of my magical childhood that I dream of going back to the good old days.
Seeing this makes me so happy as I loved this as a toddler. I thought after the show ended that was it but no, the Teletubbies continued staying in the public eye still beloved as ever and now at age 26 revisiting them and remembering all the joy they brought to me, it makes me so happy🥹

While I find this series extremely juvenile and lacking in substance, I do need to hand it to those actors for enduring such harsh physical conditions for 365 episodes. It must have been worth it to have been a part of a franchise that was seen around the world, and has touched the lives of millions of children. Even if it made the parents groan in misery.

Okay... Everyone either makes fun of teletubbies, make conspiracy theories about them, or just are scared of them. I think im the only one on the planet that loves teletubbies! They're cute, they look soft, their voices are adorable, my friend says shes concerned for me, but she has a mental breakdown if she sees a bee mask meme so she shouldnt be worried if i like a toddler show.
