@@pasteywhiteboy7345 Dude, I don't think you've read anything else, I watched almost every Canucks game and he is a god at defense. Also, even I can see that it's close if you add up takeaways and blocked shots it's the same number!!! I get that Makar is good but Hughes is overall better in most people in the comment section's minds. Also, did you notice who made the All-Star Game?

i feel so blessed that i got a pristine Quinn Hughes young guns card, this player is different and his positive energy next level💯
I watch him for his hockey sense, how his mind computes offense is beautiful.
His ability to skate effortlessly, see the ice and move the puck is like nothing we've ever seen from a vancouver dman. I could watch him walk the puck along the d line all day. His shifty spin moves to shake a defender is also soooo good.
He is so fast and sure handed. God I miss seeing them play!!!!
He was top class last year and is still playing better than most NHL players regardless of team! Finally a small defenceman like me!!! Love it!!!

Even though I would personally root for Hughes for the Calder I think the hockey writers are gonna give it to Makar. Makar seems to be the heavy favorite and is featured more often in highlights
@@rrhev I agree, Hughes is a better player, but the Writers seem to be looking more at that flashy offence and hard hits Makar brings to the table, and less of EVERYTHING else which is what Hughes has (also the offence)

He actually has an underrated shot as well. Not very hard but accurate and well timed. He can get the puck through traffic for a tip in or a screen when he chooses to shoot

Is it me or does Hughes strain his back a lot
too short, too small , no matter how good you are, you still get terminated in playoff series. All giants player will crush on you, you will suffer multiple bruise and pain on your body. You won't survive playoff series !! This is true fact happen too many years for Canucks playoff.

Ahhh.Vancouver I think is pretty lucky.Petey and Quin may be the smartest players outside of Sidney Crosby.Both have skills complementary to Wayne Gretzky.Do not get me wrong.Mc David is the only real super star in the game today to me .I have stars ranked like Generals.1 to five.Mc David is a five.I still have Crosby at 3.Because I think he is still the smartest player.Petey is a 3.Might be saying too much with Quin being a 3 also.Bunch of guys at 4,One is close to a five.And plays for Colorado.I knew Quin was good,but he beat my expectation by a mile.
