I was just about to pull the trigger on a LS2 Assault when I saw this. This F71 is going to be my next helmet. HJC really knocked it out of the park with this lid. It ticks all the boxes. It's eyeglass friendly and I love the adjustable sun shield feature and the larger neck collar. Note that as of this date, F71 face shields don't seem to be available anywhere. I wanted a blacked-out look. But it does use the same shield as the RPHA-71 (part# HJ-38) which is readily available.
LS2 assault is my first helmet, been riding with it for two years, and i've about had it with the wind noise in that helmet. anything over 60mph and you're going deaf. i think you made the right choice
Did you find a blacked out shield? I've been looking but like you said I cannot find them anywhere.
I called and spoke to HJC about the dot and ECE rating. The rep said that depending where you purchased the helmet would determine the rating. For example if you purchase and ship to the US, you will receive dot rated helmet. If you purchase and ship to Europe, you’ll receive the ECE rated helmet. Rep said to have both dot and ECE wouldn’t be that cost effective for the end user.
Don’t shoot the messenger. That’s what I was told by HJC.
That's correct. Would be nice if they had the US version with both DOT and ECE ratings.
It is amazing how many reviews one has to watch on youtube just to find wether the helmet is ok for spectacle wearers or not. Oh well, off to the next review.

Well, on fc-moto specs show that it is spectacle compatible, which is logical, if F71 is a successor to F70. But yeah, would be totally awesome if reviewers dedicated 5 seconds of a 15 min video to say it. Or at least show the front view with both visor and sunvisor up. I can't verify for sure but the HJC USA website states that the HJC F71 is indeed eyeglass friendly.
Unfortunately, a lot of manufacturers do not specify if their helmet is eyeglass friendly. It's a shame. Appreciate the feedback.
Love this helmet but the sena(hjc smart) 21b is far from a easy install, just saying
It took us a bit to get the unit installed ourselves. We sped up the footage in our 21B/50B review.
Am I wrong to assume this is the replacement for the F70? If so, how much smaller is the visor than the F70?
Hey I work at HJC helmets. This helmet has replaced the F70 that is correct. The visor on this one changed but same exact FOV.

Was going to ask the same question since I'm expecting the matte titanium this week but in this video it was called anthracite so i was a little confused. This color is exactly what I wanted though so I'm glad to have confirmation that this is the color I'll be receiving via @SpeedAddictsTV
can the actual visor meaning the main one meaning the clear one that blocks the bugs be taken off and replaced like let’s say a tinted visor if you wanted to and can the sun visor be removable also replaced like let’s say a different sun visor if you wanted to could be possible meaning these both 2 things
Visor and drop down visor are both removable and replaceable.

So I’m looking to upgrade from my f70 to possibly this helmet, but u have a cardo pack talk system will it be able to fit on this helmet?
You can install on the cardo unit on this helmet but not where the HJC smart system would go.
The SENA integration is a really a dealbreaker for those who use comms. SENA just doesn't compare to Cardo - it's not waterproof, it's slow to connect, it's bulkier, and they're not trying to 'blend' the two systems together like Cardo is. It's a real pity HJC is trying to push proprietary comms.
PS if a helmet's not ECE it's not worth buying, DOT is junk.
Integrated comm units are definitely a hit and miss. LS2 uses Cardo for their latest line of helmets.
My guess is that it's too new and testing for ece hasn't been finished yet. I expect it will probably be properly rated shortly.

This might be my next helmet. Im probably going for mono color white. Anyone know if that front logo is removable - I really don't want to use my forehead for any company's branding. Really poor taste from most helmet manufactures.

You must try the helmet on the road for the noise. Had many problems with helmets that are to noisy.
Unfortunately, we have no means to try on every helmet for wind noise.
