Plus, yeah they still need petrochemicals and rare earth minerals, etc. Not a good deal for the environment.

I used to build drag cars, drove them and more. The Tesla will kill it off the start and for about the first 1-200 feet, because electric motor is instant max power - its the nature of an electrical motor. But, then the gasoline engine will start hitting its power band and pass it.

A model 3 isn’t that fast my dudes. I owned the performance variant and even that wasn’t that quick. That one doesn’t even look like the Duel Motor either which means its really nothing special even by average car standards.
People have no clue how much pollution is created in the making of an EV. Strip mining to get the lithium, oil in the rubber and plastic parts and lubricants, and the natural gas power plant that they plug the car into. The copper windings in the motor are also mined. 1 hour of operation at a copper mine would power 100 gas vehicles for a year. All of the metals in the circuit boards were mined as well. EV’s also don’t last as long as fuel vehicles before the batteries and motors have to be changed out and those are the highest pollution items on the car. EV’s actually take us backwards in carbon neutrality. Gas vehicles could be more efficient if the government didn’t block patents for carburetors that can get 150 miles per gallon. Any patents that threaten the economy can legally be blocked by the government. 1000’s have been blocked for more efficient carburetors, medicine, solar panels that have more than a 30% efficiency rating have a higher tax and more fees tacked on. The energy companies lobby to get more EV’s on the road so they can sell more electricity. Once all vehicles are electric then they can raise the price even more and then it will be too late to go back . If you are forced to make a change as big as this by the government, then all you have to do is follow the money. Current laws are pushing for all vehicles sold in the US to be electric by 2032. According to a study at Yale University, two thirds of the power generated is lost before it even gets from the point of production to your car . The studies done on EV’s use a 85-90% transfer efficiency rating. These numbers are way over inflated. When looking to see how efficient EV’s are, you can’t look at data produces by the company that trying to sell you the car. Any electrical engineer can tell you mass production items aren’t capable of a 90% efficiency rating. The miles per $1 spent are based on an 85-90% efficiency rating and a charge of 15 cents per kilowatt hour. At these numbers EV’s get 2-2.5 times more miles per$1 than gas. That would be great if the efficiency rating was actually achievable and your energy rates are 15 cents per KHW. California already has rolling blackouts due to the lack of power generation capabilities in the US. The efficiency ratings are also graded in a lab with perfect conditions. High heat and extremely cold areas won’t see anywhere near this efficiency rating.

People have no clue how much pollution is created in the making of an EV. Strip mining to get the lithium, oil in the rubber and plastic parts and lubricants, and the natural gas power plant that they plug the car into. The copper windings in the motor are also mined. 1 hour of operation at a copper mine would power 100 gas vehicles for a year. All of the metals in the circuit boards were mined as well. EV’s also don’t last as long as fuel vehicles before the batteries and motors have to be changed out and those are the highest pollution items on the car. EV’s actually take us backwards in carbon neutrality.
Gas vehicles could be more efficient if the government didn’t block patents for carburetors that can get 150 miles per gallon. Any patents that threaten the economy can legally be blocked by the government. 1000’s have been blocked for more efficient carburetors, medicine, solar panels that have more than a 30% efficiency rating have a higher tax and more fees tacked on. The energy companies lobby to get more EV’s on the road so they can sell more electricity. Once all vehicles are electric then they can raise the price even more and then it will be too late to go back . If you are forced to make a change as big as this by the government, then all you have to do is follow the money. Current laws are pushing for all vehicles sold in the US to be electric by 2032. According to a study at Yale University, two thirds of the power generated is lost before it even gets from the point of production to your car . The studies done on EV’s use a 85-90% transfer efficiency rating. These numbers are way over inflated. When looking to see how efficient EV’s are, you can’t look at data produces by the company that trying to sell you the car. Any electrical engineer can tell you mass production items aren’t capable of a 90% efficiency rating. The miles per $1 spent are based on an 85-90% efficiency rating and a charge of 15 cents per kilowatt hour. At these numbers EV’s get 2-2.5 times more miles per$1 than gas. That would be great if the efficiency rating was actually achievable and your energy rates are 15 cents per KHW. California already has rolling blackouts due to the lack of power generation capabilities in the US. The efficiency ratings are also graded in a lab with perfect conditions. High heat and extremely cold areas won’t see anywhere near this efficiency rating.
