- The Flute Center of New York sent me 4 different versions of the LefreQue Sound Bridge to test. I had a lot of fun testing them out on my professional flute as well as my daughters’ intermediate and beginner flutes.
Timings are listed below for side-by-side companions, as well as my deep dive into the promises made by the LefreQue inventor, answers to the top questions I’ve gotten about LefreQue, and a link to a more thorough write up on my blog.

“To LefreQue or Not to LefreQue That is the Question Can You Hear the Difference”
• To LefreQue or NOT to ...
• LefreQue for Flute Tes... - Hudba
I really enjoyed this video and am experimenting with the different metal LefreQues. You have a gorgeous sound on all options and I enjoy listening to you play. :)
It is a lot of fun to explore these different metals. Thanks for the complement.
Very interesting idea, and if science says it works, we can't argue with that.
It's good to know they tested it in a quantifiable way,
it is hard to hear the variations over the WWW. but I think I could work out when it was on compared to off. Great video 2x👍
I don't need one as my tone is perfect. 🤣🤣🤣 Right??
Thanks DC. I also think it is difficult to hear the difference. They also sounded different in different accoustical environments. I heard more of a difference in a better room then the one I made the video in. I'm still hard pressed to say that it is a better sound rather then different.
@@DoctorFlute It is a difficult thing to quantify. There are so many variables in play I guess if someone finds it helps then wonderful. But for over £100 (my flute is silver so that would be over £100) I would want to be able to send it back after a week testing.
I hear you!
Fantastic! It is definitely one of the least expensive ways to improve your tone.
if Pedro Eustache endorses it then it must be good
Well then!
if you don't have a proper approach, you can't hope for miracles. learn the approach, practice and practice again.
So true!
i DON T REALLY BELIEVE IN THAT, if the flute head is well adjusted it s enough
That is what makes the LefreQue so controversial. Have you tried one? If not you should and just see what you think.
@@DoctorFlute Yes I understand you, however I have seen quite often that concert flutes were simply badly regulated, bad correspondences, problems of key pressures, and when these questions have found a solution, the final result is excellent; The adjustment of the flute head in the flute body often presents problems that the head tube floats in the body tube and this does not allow a correct vibration of the air tube in the tube.
What I find contradictory is that this idea of metal connection between the head and the body is based on the fact that the tube finally receives a vibration in the metal; Now I was able to discuss this subject at length with a flute manufacturer who often told me that a flute was not a bell and that the fact that the flute tube vibrates is not the main objective of violin making; Voila, thank you for the exchange and the discussion remains open; Have a nice day
You have a great day as well!
