  • Exploring an old disused shaft right next to the coast path on the north coast. This shaft was used by the chemical weapons establishment at nancekuke to discharge waste from the production of some of the horrible gases and agents ever produced, including sarin and vx poison gas.
The facility has been shut down for years and most of it demolished apart from this one feature which still sits on the clifftop overlooking the Atlantic.

Next task- is there any way into the mine shaft that used to feed water to nancekuke? Deepest in Cornwall we're told!

Yeah I can understand why you was a bit apprehensive about releasing it mate because of the history of the site

Nice that they just dumped chemical weapons effluent straight into the sea...

Fair play to you Ben & mate, good bit investigation did not look to bad condition altogether of the shaft & deposits, silver sand was a bit of surprise to me on the north coast Keep up the good work, that's 2 pints i ow ee now.

Hi Ben.. I've been watching your videos for a while now and am a current subscriber 😁 also born and still living in Cornwall... a friend and myself are urban explorers and have visited this site, inspected and planned our route down... do you have any tips or help on our adventure down here?... many thanks
    Your fellow pasty muncher 😎

Well we wore disposable suits and gloves just incase there was any residue from nasties still lingering down there.
The biggest thing here is the tide/weather. As you can see it leads to a massive sea cave, so if the tide is high and the swell is up it will be booming. The swell makes the air pressure surge so this may do damage to the ears/lungs if it was bigger.
If you go through into the sea cave take care not to slip or get washed off or you will probably be a gonner 😮
Also take a better piece of rope for the first bit with foot loops in, but take it with you as not to encourage those who aren’t so prepared/equipped.
      🙂
