I LOVE Wingspan!! I learned to play over Christmas and it is already a required play when we get together with family.
It’s so fun! My favorite game to play easy!
#16😎
Wow I have that notepad, who knew!
Hope the growth continues🤞🏼
Haha so cool that you have the notepad! Appreciate your support!
oh using that garbage sack for a drybag is actually a great idea! Where I live, especially right now, it snows a lot and so that builds up and soaks through my bags!
Also, I have the National Geographic guide, but one I just got is the Crosley Guide to Raptors and it's amazing. Essentially, it shows all the morphs and different plumages of each species, then there's a page with several similar looking species together, which are each numbered and have answers in the back! I haven't used it much yet, but I'm really loving the concept of being able to try identifying them for myself!
Yeah get yourself a good trash bag haha. OH that sounds super interesting! I'll have to check it out!
Great video ! Dry bags are always essential as I live in Ireland 😂
Thank you! Oh yeah most definitely! I'm lucky because I don't need to use it much in the desert, but Ireland you would need one for sure!
Hahahaha I absolutely love that you mentioned Wingspan. My favorite game too!! I have the Asia expansion and hoping to add the Oceania and Europe expansions too
Every birder NEEDS Wingspan. It’s essential 😂 hoping to get the expansions someday too!
For field guides: National Geographic is great for if you want to learn a quick, easy summary of bird your looking for, but in turn it has the most up to date new species seen and historical records. Sibley is great for identification in the field, in depth comparisons of different species, etc. and more. Peterson is more of a classic, easy to use field guide that goes back to basics.
That's super helpful for people! Thanks for sharing!
My husband's lens caps on his vortex binoculars broke the same way but vortex sent him a new pair at no cost. They are expensive but their warranty is incredible and so worth it. We truly believe Vortex is the best for the price.
Yes that’s a great point! Vortex have a great warranty system so if you’re looking for long term solutions it’s better to invest if you can! Thanks for bringing this up!
I use the Sibley's West guide most often, but don't carry it with me when I go on an official bird walk with a local Audubon group. I prefer to just listen and learn when I am with them.
That’s smart! Learning from other people is much faster learning!
Now that this video is out, is there more things you would add to your recommendations?
Good question! Maybe I’ll do a follow up video!
I got a pair of binoculars I got for $30 from Walmart.
Even better! Finding a bargain product that works for you is a great feeling!
We aren't encouraged to have bird feeders at our apartment complex, which really stinks. I would have ALL the feeders if I could...😢
Oh! Someday! I’m also in an apartment and there’s not much space for feeders. I’ll just wait patiently for one day in the future.
