For anyone interested I recommend to use a chest, or something with same hitbox, placed right infront of the hoppers instead of the trapdoor. Then you'll stand far enough that spiders can't hit you but close enough to collect exp.

I didnt actually build your design block to block;
but the water to drown climbing spiders and the killing chamber I did use.

Quick n' dirty, works great! Honestly the more automated pitfall or piston farms are a chore for me, just putting Mending on the sword you use to kill the spiders makes it super easy, both to use and set up.

FANTASTIC! LOVE ME THIS XP! Only slight criticism is the hoppers in your exact design here don't collect the drops in practise, but for me it's all about the XP. I've got more string than I know what to do with so not exactly looking for more haha

just a note: try not to use a knockback sword as some loot gets stuck on the wall blocks behind the slabs which is unreachable from the afk room. great tutorial tho!!

I added an on and off switch by putting red stone lamps in each side of the walls whenever i'm not using the xp farm.
why is that necessary can i ask?

@@lautre-cote my guess is put both of the rivers that lead them to the hopper part into one central river (like a Y shape), with the central river leading to you. if you can get the water to work it should be fine. make sure the spanwers work in your location though, im pretty sure they turn off if youre far away

does this work with a normal spider spawner you can find while mining or only cave spiders because none of the mobs are coming down to where I built for me to take them out?

make sure to have at least 4 iron pickaxes so you can mine out all the stone and the tunnel

They won’t stop jumping and everything is right it take a while for them to get tot the trap doors but they keep jumping
the spawning rates are 0... is there anyways i can improve this without torching a ton of caves? (like simulation chunks or smth)
for when the spiders climb up the walls and you block them with signs and water, do you have to place water on all of the walls?

Not sure what I am doing wrong but they keep climbing the front wall and into the water instead of falling down into the afk location....
Can spiders even drown?
The spiders fall down and I can get the XP but the string and items aren't going into the hoppers through the slabs, am I missing something?

Edit:
Found a fix: Instead of walls, put hoppers directed toward the hoppers that are already there. It should direct the loot to the first set of hoppers, then the chest. It worked for me (Java 1.19).
Tip: Don't leave a two block gap above the hoppers, the spiders still fall in the hole and you shouldn't get hurt. I was just finding that the spiders still climbed the ceiling above the hoppers.
Is it work for normal spiders?
This farm is good but there is a better spider cave farm that is easier and les expensive (not saying that this is expensive) but tnx for the video!

The drops keep getting stuck on the slabs and don't go in the hopper
So i found double spawner and i made 2 farms , one works while the other doesnt. The spiders somehow got stuck on the fence gate and wont go down. Any help ?

turn off your farm
break all your gates
put them back making sure theyre the exact same way
turn on your farm
basically the "turn your system off and on" in mc. if it still doesnt work you have other issues likely
My spiders hit me through blocks and can hit me at the line is this a know glitch?

Ive noticed that the xp gets trapped and you have to move forward to collect it, if you place the upper trap doors above where you aim so they open towards you, then you can collect the xp simply by opening said trap door

while I was making this farm for 2 cave spider spawners I found a third one, all in adjacent chunks, not sure how I'm going to make this work tbh
make the farm as normal
the middle feeding river thing should bring them to a centralized point so that all spawners are working
stand in the centralized point and design it like the hopper room in the vid
that should work if you can get the water to work right and are close enough for the spawners to activate

The spiders don't go down (the gates are open) and the items aren't going into the hopper

is there any way to collect the exp without moving? i wanna afk but the exp might despawn
If you put chests against the hoppers, that gets you close enough to collect the XP without being hit by the spiders. Or at least that's how it's working for me right now on 1.19.

I made an extension by putting hoppers in front of the cobble walls and connect them to the kill chambers hopppers

pretty sure it wont work exactly as well, but if you modify the spot where they actually meet you it should work

I really think this tutorial is not the best for hardcore because it is pretty hard to make it work which led to my death in hardcore minecraft.

The farm works, but the tutorial is difficult to follow in early survival worlds. The optional fences aren't mentioned, and steps aren't given before changes are made, such as needing a 9x5x9 area and not just a 9x3x9 (which makes exposed spawners harder to prepare), or what direction the opening will be before building the farm.
what if you have a double spawner?
you have to connect them together. Spawners will only work in a 16 block radius around the player. Probably too late of a reply but I hope this helped.
