Nice video, Justin. very informative 👍
As always a great review Justin!!👍😀
I remember getting V Moda M-80s at Radioshack back in the day!
Edrumcenter did me a solid on my new Td-50k2 kit. Thx
The guys at Edrumcenter are great!
Hi Justin I have been playing estimate for 14 years and the headphones I have and can thoroughly endorse are the Shure 840’s … they are in my honest opinion one of the BEST SOUNDING headphones which focus on a neutral sound letting you enjoy what your drums are supposed to sound like!! Highly recommend!!
I have tried over 10 types of headphones with my v-drums. My fave is in-ears with light construction type hearing protection overtop of the in-ears.
I actually prefer open-back headphones with my e-kit as I'm using the Zildjian L-80 hats and ride and want to hear them through the headphones. I get a nice mix of acoustic and electronic at reasonable volume levels for practice.
I have a pair of these and I like them. They're a lot more comfortable than the Boss Waza Air headphones I have for guitar. You'll definitely get sweaty round your ears for long sessions though.
Great video!
I have a question for Justin or the community: where could I find some Roland nylon sticks? Do they still make them? I have a drummer relative who would like to buy a pair to replace what was stolen from him.
Thank you
Can you make a video about how to mount and audio interface and a laptop to your drum rack? Can't find any good options
Tried a few pairs but the headphones that do it for me are the audio technica m 40x great headphones for vdrums
When I was buying my headphones I was deciding between 40x and 50x. What made it for me was the extended low end of the 50x . I also use them for mixing so I don't regret spending 30% more.
These headphones are very popular with dj’s, the dude who did my senior prom had em
I can see why, they make EDM music sound good
Oh cool! I have probably the same-ish Vmoda headphones for drumming and music. I didn't know that they were bought either. I enjoy the overall sound quality and size, where as some headphones are massive. I'm unsure what this model goes for, but a few years ago I got my Vmoda's on sale for $140
These big companies always surprise me at how many little brands they've scooped up over the years
@@65Drums I agree it is fairly surprising, and sometimes we don't even realize it unless we are more up to date with news. I suppose sometimes it is cheaper to buy another company, vs doing R&D that someone has already done.
This just Rolland slapping their name on something
Yeah but when it comes to the e-drum world we gotta worship them or something
In one sense, it's true. But on the other hand, Roland bought the whole V-Moda company. So it makes sense to put your name on a product you own now.
Didn't know Val had sold to Roland. Makes me hesitant with V-Moda moving forward. Do they offer the same lifetime warranty?
I’ve got these and can honestly say they are great 👍
@@pc3983 thas good
Hi Justin great video! I wanted to ask your opinion I recently saw a Yamaha DTXTREME II S for 490$ do you think it's still a good option for
this price?
Also could you do a video where you talk about MILLENIUM e-drumsets because they seem really apealing but I can't find any review.
Hi Justin nice video like always , I have a question about the in ears headphones what do you recomend for playing drums in the price below 200 dollars , I have the 1 More triple drivers and they sound very good for the price with good bass that for me is crucial , and then I bought the Audiotechnica E 50 because I have the Audiotechnica ATH M50 witch are awesome so I supposed the E 50 will be the same but in ears, but because you can no try the in ears headphones you always have to buy them by viewing someone review and go for your instincts , witch in these case with the E 50 I was totally disappointed because they don't have any bass at all , nothing to compare with the ATH M50 , I put them on sale inmediately I think I will go for the 1 More quad drivers next time I bought another in ear headphones , I always watch all the videos like zildjian live for example with lots of musicians and the drummer always using in ears but unfortunatelly they never talk about witch one they use , and I am looking for the perfect in ears headphones with great bass in the price range 200 dol , it will be great if you make a video comparing several brands ., I am a fan of roland products I have the TD25kv the Octapad and the alesis multipad and I would love to have the spdx pro but for the moment it is to expensive but it is a beatifull machine , what the electronic drums manufactures never told you is that you need a great pair of headphones to play because it is very annoying to play them without headphones the sound of the stick hitting the rubber heads even the kick it is very loud so you when watch the videos of electronic drums you get super exited on how it sounds but in the reality is that you need a headphones like the ath m50 to cancel all the sound coming from the drums and I am looking for the in ears to have the same experience , with the 1 more triple drivers they sound good but it is not compared with the M50 , sorry for the long text but I use your channel as reference when I decide to buy something , because of you I decided 4 years ago to buy my first Alesis drum kit ja you are the best reviewer all the best
Just my $0.02. If you write less, Justin is more likely to read your post. He can only spend so much time on each one.
Justin any suggestion on how to handle this situation with this headphones. I could hear my atv hihat too much using td50x .....when I used to use the vic fifth, it was fine. However these roland headphones aren't keeping noise too much
???????
I had 5yr old Vmodas when i got my vdrums. I blew them out. Maybe it was just time? They sounded way better than my At50's. ANyone else have experience with Vmodas blowing out?
I have the RH300V headphones and I can't imagine using anything less for my personal preference. I wonder if they really need to add more options, aside from trying to hit a price point?
I see it as just another option on the market. Some drummers prioritize customization, accessories, and overall look. While others prioritize sound over aesthetics. Lots of different headphones out there for every time of buyer.
totally different sound and features and the RH-300V are finished now anyway. The VMHD1 are more enclosed, less bright, more bottom end and have the drummer accessories.
@@tcellen2136 Do we know for sure if the RH300V is confirmed as discontinued? I still see it for sale on many music store websites, though admittedly they could just be selling through current stock
who will roland acquire next?
I've been playing for four years and tried multiple headphones and in-ears and I just can't get any that totally block out me hitting the hi-hat. Any suggestions?
Yes, please! This is so annoying for me too. The HiHat sound is for some reason the only one I'm hearing. I use the 12" ATV cymbal with the Drum-Tec Controller and all other cymbals are ATV as well. But the only one I'm hearing is the HiHat. I use the Shure 215 in ears
I’ll stick with my Sennheiser HD 280 Pros I think. Extremely comfortable, good isolation and great quality sound. Also heaps cheaper.
Technics Dj 1200's 20 years old : still in production - will please any ear
Make sure that it's made in Japan
If my Sony MD 7506s ever break I'll give these a try.
I like the Sony MD7506's I use them sometimes while editing videos
@@65Drums The Sony’s are my go to and have been for years. They are very honest.
Guess you're never trying these, then. Lol
How does this compare to the Rh-300V?
I'd like to know this too as Roland is pushing this a their new flagship headphones for vdrums.
Which of the 2 is best and worth buying now?
Sorry meant edrums not estimate (darn auto correct!!😊)
I just received my Roland RH-300V's and I'm not a fan. In fact, I'm returning them tomorrow. The Sennheiser HD280 Pro's feel like they are better quality (which is amazing considering they are less than half the price of the Roland's) and the sound is night and day. The HD280 Pro's pick up all the highs, mids and lows perfectly whereas with the 300V's I'm picking up mostly highs, a little bit of mids and next to no lows. After this I'll probably never buy another pair of Roland headphones again. If you don't believe me buy both and compare for yourself.
Those are just rebranded V-Modas? Which model are they though?
Look like crossfades
Roland owns V-Moda and this new model is designed from the ground up for V-Drums. Quite a different sound and design as far as how they feel to play with, tighter fit so they stay put. The shields are the same shape.
wow. considering this is roland, im surprised they aren't 500+ lol.
I have 2 Roland drum kits, both of them with td50x modules. Originally I have been using the RH-300V and I wanted to try those new headphones out and I purchased 2 of these VMH-D1 and I returned them right away. My older RH-300V sounds so much better. Very disappointed.
Hey Alex, the RH-300V is higher end. $259 headphone vs this $179 one.
FIRST!
Seems like a rebrand v-moda

@@deltamustache oops nvm
You didn't even make it 1 minute into the video 🤣
I thought Yamaha was the Apple of electronic drums? It is widely known that basically only Yamaha products work with Yamaha. Not so with Roland. Thus Roland is more of the PC version of electronic drums.
Well I’m taking more about the pricing angle here. And You can make Yamaha cymbals work with third party modules with the right adapters. Rolands move toward digital pads makes their highest end components incompatible with 3rd party modules without odd work arounds.
I can't believe beyerdynamic DT 770 M headphones aren't even mentioned.
The M version is a version for drummers, acoustic ones as well.
They completely isolate the impact of the pads.
Even on the forums, people deep in electronic drums don't know the M version,
I looked at those, ended up with the HD300 PROtect. My RH-300V have poor noise isolation in terms of stick noise.
I don't understand.
We spend thousands of dollars on hihats, pedals, and drums, only to find, for the most part, inexpensive headphones that cost less than $100.
Despite being the most utilised output of the costly investment, all of these headphones seem to have flaws.
It feels like watching films at VHS on an 85" TV.
People don't want to spend much on headphones BECAUSE the drums are so expensive. But if you do have a large budget, then of course spending $600 on high end headphones will make the drums sound better.
@@65Drums did you test some of those?
My research lead me to on-stage in-ears with additional treble and
bass driver.
