    The focus on speed has the benefit of giving it the overhead to make it safe at normal speeds. That makes it a safer 'hobby' less injury prone and there for longer term use.

    • @johnnygovroom
      @johnnygovroom  Před 5 měsíci +1

      the smaller diameter will encourage people to self govern , 30 mph on this wheel will feel like 55 on another 22 inch or 45 on a 20 , I understand the “overhead” premise , but that’s a separate conversation than intrinsic speed.

    • @s0d4c4n
      @s0d4c4n Před 5 měsíci +2

      Safety overhead is already engineered into wheels that have a consumer friendly design approach. Once you advertise a wheel at the higher speed, it's no longer safety overhead

    • @TheNazradin
      @TheNazradin Před 5 měsíci +3

      @s0d4c4n I don't agree. I ride my motorcycle around at legal speeds not the 250kph it can do. I do this without the fear of if I accelerate it is suddenly going to throw me off.
      For me having high tolerances and waterproofing are my main 2 considerations. And both of those are for safety.

    • @s0d4c4n
      @s0d4c4n Před 5 měsíci

      @@TheNazradin I can't follow you on the motorcycle analogy as I have no idea how those are engineered, sold, and marketed. But you're claiming that as EUCs have gotten faster, riders are not increasing speed, they are simply riding at the same speed but more safely?

    • @TheNazradin
      @TheNazradin Před 5 měsíci +2

      @s0d4c4n I am saying many do. Take Marty as an example. He doesn't push his wheels to the max and he is one of the more prominent figures in the youtube community. He is like most people a sensible rider.

    We have tons of high voltage large battery capacity wheels. We definitely need more smaller Cheaper options. The falcon looks sweet, Basically a mcm5 with suspension, and that wheel is a blast to ride.

    I am 80 years old, so I wanted a lightweight suspension wheel. I chose the T4 a year ago because it was about as big as I could haul up stairs. I also didn't want a small wheel because I find them difficult to mount. The side load on my leg is just painful. They are fun, but I need to hold on to something to mount them. About me, I am 6' 1", 180 lbs, but my shoe size is 13EEEEEE which requires a lot of break in. Look in a shoe catalog and see if you can find a boot in 8E width. Some of us just don't fit the norm.

    This is why I got the A2 in the first place, my first wheel and although sometimes I think, "should I have bought a v12?" I realize I fell in love with it, fun, small, portable, gets me all around a small town can squeeze almost 30miles, tonsss of torque. absolutely need smaller wheels cause I'm not paying 4k I'd rather buy an ebike or motorcycle at that point.
    tip to anyone don't ride in hard mode it's too easy to accidently overpower for the A2.

    **Thinking out loud: TL;DR: My euc history + realizing i like more the sub 50km/h space & small/playful/zippy euc's like mcm5, and would love it's big brother, but a bit stuck with my SS & how to move forward*
    My first wheel was an mcm5 v2, i loved it and I still do. After that, i got the 16x.. i didn't feel like the 10 extra km/h justified the extra weight (24kg instead of 17).. range was never a problem for me..
    Soo, then I sold the 16x and got an exn instead.. it was great fast, and felt suprisingly nimble too! I was very happy with it.. for a few days, then the battery pack caught fire and I almost burnt my apartment down.. luckily i got it to the balcony & it could die dramatically in peace there.. anyway, I had hit a bump and felt a little bit of a death scare at 60~km/h, so I thought: next wheel will have to be suspension, for safety.
    I get myself a sherman s. I take forever to tweak it untill I finally get most things right: 241 tire, fairings, pads right (far forward & high for maximum ease of acceleration) and also -6 degrees on the pedals.. filed the pedal pegs to be sharper for better grip...
    I get up to 65km/h pretty fast & with ease.. but am I having more fun? It enables country road riding(imo) and that with an eye regurlary thrown backwards to signal cars they can pass (prolly doing 70 at this point - wind makes me nervous).. am i having fun? Is it important to replace an easily lendable car or taking a train & wheeling from there?.. not really tbh.. it's nice & cool to be capable.. to be able to do something not a lot can do, to be independent with less than before~(or something like that).. but could I do without it? Yeah, i could..
    I think my problem is two part:
    1. I loved my mcm5 so much, I thought: Where's it's big brother that will be 2x the fun?
    - I got bigger wheels at 3x the cost for only 1.2x the fun (while many other aspects of riding / ridelife became downgraded by 0.7~)
    2. I'm part or a group that does grouprides, and while I might be satisfied to 80-85% by my mcm5 when i ride by myself, it's underpowered for grouprides
    So when I see the Falcon & the S16Pro I think, yes! Effortless acceleration, 50/60km/h topspeed, carve around & explore the city/a nature area - great!
    But then it's like.. okay, i'll sell my SS for a wheel with worse build quality, that costs 2/3 of what I'll get for the SS, and the weight (33kg - S16 pro) is not far from say the S22.. and maybe the I should get that & have more performance?! And wait! If I can be okay with 40kg then I could have the lynx, or extreme/v14?! Haha... it's easy to loose touch with what really matters to me when there's much better performance & build quality "just a tad more kg's up"
    Yet, at the same time, having ridden the SS, I've come to know that it's not all that interesting imo to ride super far along car roads, i'm more interested in zooming around and exploring in the city, chilling at various places, not being geared to the max.. probably just hitting 50km/h once in a while when the mood strikes, enjoying the otherwise light & zippy wheel in the lower speeds.. carving around, looking around, listening to music, chatting with a co-rider, swooshing to check something out and comming back 😅
    ... a comment someone wrote here was about the added size and complexity of suspension, and it makes me nervous 😅 I'd love the Falcon to feel like the bigbrother to the mcm5, for it's acceleration to be even faster & equally effortless.. for the carve feeling to be even better.. but maybe it's just gonna feel like the 16x or worse, like it doesn't do that extra stuff well enough to justify it's extra weight and/or suspension..
    And that maybe the s16pro would be a worse choice than say v14 - that, at 33kg i'm already beyond "easy to carry" (although the exn @ 33kg was carryable with one hand up some stairs!) and should therefor just opt for a well balanced 40kg wheel.. and at 126v or 151v maybe a 40kg wheel could give that "instant go" that I love from the mcm5?
    what's really important to me is
    - off the like zippyness, like the mcm5 has got. Easy to stop.
    - playful to carve on, also in low speeds
    - I imagine I'd really like some more top speed & suspension..
    I basically want the mcm5 with suspension @ capable of 60 (but probably will only ever go to 50)
    So falcon & s16pro could be "it" - with the drawback of...
    *Falcon suspension might be pogostick suspension.. could be great, could be crap, idk
    *Falcon top speed seems lacking
    *Falcon, as with S16pro & all suspension wheels has higher pedals, which=Less easy to get off/on & a bit more unstable to accelerate hard?
    *S16pro is called out for crappy slider suspension, but also heard it's good now - what to believe? :')
    *S16pro plastic top looks fragile
    * S16pro costs 2300euro, quite a lot for the specs (which I need to let go of focusing on - I should focus on what makes me happy in a wheel lol)
    😅😅😅 so that's where I'm at in my big wheel - small wheel / what do I want \ thoughts! Thanks for reading, hope it resonated, curious to hear what's going through your mind!
    Ride safe & have fun! 🎉❤

      I had to really think about this after I read it last night.
      I think the "feeling" of speed is more important to me than actual speed.
      The feeling of going fast, and that happens with smaller diameter wheels.
      -
      I use euc for commuting so - i must have a commute capable wheel for that.
      But those wheels are not as fun in the scenarios where i would typically value an EUC.
      Like if i see a little baby bonk, or a piece of curb that has a nice angle- whatever the bonk is.
      - Commute wheels are just less satisfying, not that they cant do the cute little things, but they just dont feel exhilarating.
      Anyway...
      Thanks for stoppiing by.
      And for taking the time to share your thooughts

    I hear you, during one of my recent live streams I asked the question if there was one thing you could ask manufacturers to do to improve a wheel I got answers like more speed, more range, and even side to side self balancing. All of the answers were feature/performance related. My answer was simply the need to cost less. Prices sky rocketed after covid when shipping/material costs went insane but even after those transport and supply chain costs have long since normalized prices never came back to reality, taking a page out of the airlines playbook. I do like the idea of the Falcon for sure. S16 is nice bang for the buck as well for the masses. The issue is the masses aren't typically highly visible on social media so it may distort the reality of what a lot of people need/want.

Indeed, it's been so long that we, "the beginners", have been waiting for this kind of wheel, which is very balanced in terms of specificity/comfort/performance and especially the PRICE. I can't wait to see Batch 2 of this wheel born so I can buy it straight away! It's been 2 years since I wanted to start in this world of wheels and between the old ugly wheels, the big extreme wheels, the medium wheels which are too expensive and not very efficient for the price...I still haven't taken the plunge . BUT now, I'm finally ready thanks to this new FALCON! And I finally hope that the old people will stop busting their balls with their V11 and their outdated S18! LOL

Time will tell how the build quality compares between the two wheels. I have an S18 and MCM5v2 and definitely appreciate them making the Falcon so lightweight. My biggest reservation is the setup of the shock coils

It really intimidates pedestrians and even bicyclists. On my Kingsong 16X they all seem much less concerned and more often intrigued. I have never really been a speed guy, I max at around 25mph. I am kinda looking for a upgrade from my Kingsong S18 v2, 1110wh, In a lot of ways, that still presents good value to the market at 56lbs 2200 watt motor, and suspension. Id like more range, but 88lbs or something like it is a lot of weight, and Falcon looks nice, but other than more motor power, I doubt it will have much to persuade me either. I guess I am kinda most tempted by the used market or a semi refined wheel like the Master v4, as Its been fairly solid, a good performer, and had numerous upgrades, and the price is reasonable. But in the end I am not in a hurry. I just keep seeing newer faster wheels and I get excited but I know a lot of it will be unused potential at a weight disadvantage for me.

    I'll be 60 next year. Never rode an EUC but have been watching videos for some time. I ordered a Falcon last month when I read "suspension, small wheel/compact size, and price". As this excellent video says... I do NOT need to go 60 mph on a highway. I will never take it on a road with actual cars unless I have to travel on one shortly to get to a bike path or park; otherwise I'll put it in my electric car and drive there. I will not ride it faster than 15 mph or so in a city space because my fear is falling off and seeing it fly down the road in traffic, hit someone, then lose my entire house and savings I worked years for. I just want some fun in an open space without 'clowning' for folks. I don't run a YT channel. The topper was price; I'd be pissed if I fell off, broke my whole ass and then could never ride again at my age, having to sell it because it was too fast.

    Thanks for all your rides and reviews. IMO riding a EUC, Onewheel, motorcycle, snowboard, hiking, hockey, MTB, etc… cost a 💩 ton of money. These as with many other,if not all, adventure activities are fundamentally a privilege!!!!! Never forget that as we are privileged to be able to do this.
    Now I would hate any activity being limited in creativity or limits based on the needs of beginners who have no money!! 💩 have you done any other adventure sport at a more than beginner level? They are all $3000 or more just to enter and then up for there.
    Anyway glad there is a new entry level wheel but dude that’s not for the experienced and educated rider. The sport is fine and like all other new sports it will become more efficient.

      Mountainbikes are scaled , ... i mean... majority of sports i think of are scaled... snowboarding, snow skiiing... even dirtbikes... you can spend pennies to get into it and genuinely give them a go, but you can spend over 10k easily as a pro... EUC just needs that segment. imo this would help it grow alot faster.

    I'm not a beginner, but this I'm still interested in this wheel.
    I used to own a 16s, and it was a great first wheel, but i traded up for an s22 after the price dropped a bit. I liked the suspension and the wide tire on the s22 for its riding stability, it felt a lot more safe than my 16s. The problem is the s22 weighs 77 lbs so its a lot to carry around with me. The 16s on the other hand was only 35 lbs, which is easy to carry.
    I was going to get an a2, but i weigh 235 lbs and often wear a backpack when i ride, so the load capacity of the a2 wasn't enough for me.
    And I will never spend $4000 on a new euc.
    I feel like the begode falcon will be a good balance for me in terms of cost value, portability, load carrying capacity, riding stability, speed, and range... then again, i might get an s16 instead. Lets see how it turns out.

I really appreciate the review AND commentary and you NOT leaning over to give me some fan service with it.🤣I really get it... but I don't...why Begode won't give the prototype to more mature channels without the T&A.🤔

    Ive had an euc in my Amazon wish list since what feels like the beginning of time. Saw some guy on one back in the day and always thought it was the coolest thing just never had the time or money. I saw the mten4 and and was like oh yes I need to have this. Ride a commander mini now blitz to work 5 days a week. Love the hell out of it. Mten4 lives in my trunk now basically so whenever I have to drive somewhere I'm not bored. Waiting for this to come out to replace it because it's the perfect all around wheel. Suspension. 30mph. Compact. Seems like the type of wheel that ticks a lot of boxes for almost kind of rider.

    Small wheels are still for sale brand new by the makers of EUC. So people can still by those if they want. Begode just made the smallest wheel ever. That will get more kids into it. Once you get the youth to accept it, in a few years it will be considered standard...
    Look at all the kids on computers, tablets and smart phones...things that was NOT popular or existed in the 90's. Now it is standard to have them

This winter we have been blessed with a bit warmer temperature and not much snow so first year i could ride in February and March if fact this is the first year in all my life i see temperature like 8 to 15 celcius in February this is usually -30 to -40 celcius with a lot of snow like 3 to 5 feets. The EXN was a pretty good wheel and fun to ride, i didn't own one but did ride one for about a month, my main wheel which i own the longer was my RS19 HT since i have the Lynx my girlfriend use it she could use my V11 i told her its more smooth and nimble but she prefer the torque and the speed of the RS so my son do use my V11 which he learn to ride in 10 min loll

I personally just ordered a Begode T4 pro which is at least for me the hest wheel if you want a commuter with some fun....this thing has 25% more torque than the normal T4 so lets fly

    I submit that Man has always been obsessed with speed since time immemorial as witness by running, horses, chariots, wooden ships til the modern implements we have now. So the quest & need for speed is nothing new. Afterall we dont have to use all that speed but we cant use if its unavailable. Personally I share the opposite pov. This falcon is the answer to a non problem we dont need. Mtens are the answer to last milers & peeps wanting just a lightweight backpackable wheel to bomb around. A2 is the answer to all weather short dist commuting besides being a v good 1st wheel. Both share the ideal cost2value ratio of ~$1k. This Falcon bumps it up 60% in costs & 85% in weight (over mten4). In that case, the cost2value proposition says since we're moving up, go for the T4pro/S16 for more speed & more importantly more range (perhaps better suspension). Regardless both are more capable & would suffice far more as a longer term investment. IMO ofcos which is why I'm not in the Falcon market grp

    I know what you are saying. But "beginner enthusiast" feels like oxymoron. Besides, there are still a lot of cheaper wheels available, just doesn't have the performance, range, speed, suspension the more expensive ones have. You can't complain about too much focus is put on high even wheels, while at the same time don't feel interested in low end cheaper wheels that don't have all the capabilities of the expensive ones.
