Dude, that card trick to get the drawer spacing even is pure genius...
Brad, I just checked out your "About" section to see how long you've been creating content and wanted to let you know you just surpassed 5,000,000 total videos just today! Congrats!
Awesome!!! I knew I was getting close to 5M views, pretty humbling
I am watching this when he surpassed 56,000,000 total view
This looks professional. I’m excited to see where you take this channel in the future
Mike Builds thanks, me too 😀
@@Fixthisbuildthatdid it go where you expected it to?
Uncle Kreg is the best! He's building stuff for everyone! Thanks Uncle Kreg!
This is absolutely awesome for someone who has all of those tools, knowledge of how to use those tools and the space to build this.
Great video Brad! The dresser turned out really nice, I know your daughter is stoked!
Wood Shop Mike thanks, Mike! She loves it!
The toybox I built a couple months ago was built with an almost identical method. Such an easy build method and looks amazing and super sturdy. Well done Brad! Very nice!
thanks, Scott! Definitely love this style of build. Have done several very similar.
Thumbs up for the playing card tip! Thanks Brad! Great build and video!
CReeves Makes thanks, Casey! I did a video on that tip almost 2 years ago but it didn't get much traction so figured I'd throw it in again 😀
Yeah that blew me away, awesome trick!
As usual, very nicely done and explained. I love making projects for my wife and kids.
Thanks, brother! It's definitely great to see the smiles
I’ve built dozens of dressers like this and that cove molding really sets it off! Nice work BR!
No doubt, BP. Love that cove
Great project Brad! If you're having trouble with edge banding one trick I learnt whilst working in a cabinet makers shop is not to use a razor blade but to use a piece of steel that has a sharp 90 degree edge on it. Simply hold the steel flush to the plywood your edge banding and push down, working your way along the edge. Hope this makes sense, if not i'll show it in my next video but its really quick, and theres no risk of cutting into your face veneer :)
Hmm, would love to see it
Hi Brad, just letting you know that I've just uploaded a how to video on my channel explaining what I mean - hopefully you find it useful!
I did it. Followed your plans and finished today. It looks so good for my first piece of real furniture. Def going to upgrade the slides if I do it again. Basic slides are finicky!!!!
Congrats! 💪 💪
I'm definitely appreciative of how you talked about mounting the drawers! I should be mounting some myself in the next several days and hadn't quite figured out the spacing yet. Whole thing looks awesome!
Thanks! Good luck with the drawers
The custom made dresser is beautiful and professionally designed. 👏👏👏❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Just finished my kids dresser based on this video. Made a little change to the drawer faces but all in all, this things a beast. Thanks!
My Daughter and Son-in-law need a dresser. I purchased the plans and downloaded them. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, and expertise Brad !
Hope it turns out great!
I have been intimidated to make dresser or night stands due to the drawers. Having watched this and you sharing your tips and tricks has inspired me to build this for my goddaughters room to go with the bed I am building her. Thanks so much for sharing this and your knowledge.
I made this but changed the final design a little. I used more ornate molding on the end panels and around the top. I also used solid poplar drawer faces with a routed detail around the edges. Great plans
I have that pocket jig. It's one of the best investments you can make, very handy.
I've been an amateur woodworker for about six or seven years, but have never used plywood for anything other than putting on windows at my parents house before hurricanes.
For anyone else who might not know, plywood that is labeled as 3/4 in the store is not actually 3/4! They're 1/16 of an inch less than 3/4 in.
I'm about 2/3 done building this, and this has really turned into a bit of an issue. As my outer boards are true 1.5x1.5s.
Word to the wise, if anyone is going to build this, trim your outer 2x2s to NOT be 1.5x1.5, but instead 1 and 3/8 x 1 and 3/8. It will save you a big headache as it's being built, and will allow your inside to be flush with the plywood.
That's probably the best video I've ever watched on building and installing drawers. Great tips. Thank you.
thanks!
Looks great and that card trick for the drawer fronts is a fantastic tip! I'm gonna have to remember that one.
You'll use it once and never forget it!
Looks great and love the card trick. Will have to try to remember that one!
Glad you dig it!
I’m looking for a kitchen table plans and you were my first choice to see if you had any. Just a simple table seats 6. One person on each end of the table and two side-by-side on both sides of the table... great work sir keep it going..
The "card trick" is genius! Great build n video!
Again beautiful work Brad nice job. I love the dresser my wife wants my to build her a complete bedroom set. Dresser and mirror and another taller dresser and 2 nightstands. I am just about to finish up a pantry for our kitchen. The drawers have been a headache because I put a face frame that made me put in 3/4inch stretchers to allow the drawers to be mounted. But watching you build this I'll make sure to do it with the method you used then the one I used.
I considered face frames, but this way is much easier and clear. Good luck!
Excellent video quality and editing. I'm not usually one that enjoys watching furniture builds, but that was really good. Keep it up!
Thank you, Rob!
Great project, thank you for sharing! Just a lil tip on the edgebanding: most of the time I've had good experience using block plane to trim excess banding.
Oh, good call on the block plane!
Nice tip! They sell an edge banding trimmer tool as well that takes the guesswork out for about $20. I've trimmed before and took a little chip out or was left with a wavy edge doing it with a razor blade, only slightly stress inducing!
You are a fantastic instructor... Thanks for this concise, well-described video!

Basically you have turned your garage into a workshop to make furnitures for your home?
you used birch o alder?
I am a beginner with zero tools and experience 😔😢
This card trick really was an eye opener, will definitely steal that 😉
Nice
Kudos to you. Your are one of the few you tubers I have seen use pockets holes correctly. You must have watched Kreg’s video on how to correctly use pocket holes so you get the strongest join possible using pocket holes.
Very nice project and video.
Why I never heard about your channel is beyond me.
Now onto binge watching 😆
Subscribed!
Hope you e joyed the rest of them 😀
This is exactly what I needed, only I don't wanna use metal hardware for the drawers. Excellent video, amazing looking dresser.
I’m pretty sure I won’t be buying my daughter a new dresser. I’ll be building one! Thanks!
patrick dowling that look when you show her the finished product...priceless
Great build Brad it looks fab, no wonder your daughter was happy with it.
Well done.
Barry (ENG)
Thanks, Barry!
Nice card trick! And this is a timeless dresser!
My favorite kind of design is one that will look good in 20 years :)
Fix This Build That I completely agree!
I love your projects, they're so creative and beautiful 😍 i'm an architect and you're such an inspiration for me and for my designs!! Thank you for sharing your talent with us. ❤️
Not sure how I missed this Brad! Nice build, will make sure I do something like this for my kids when they need it.
Flush cut router bit makes quick work of the edge banding.
good call
Thanks man easiest drawer slide install I have seen yet
Turned out looking great Brad!! Nice work
Thanks, Johnny!
Your work is very good, hello from Brazil.
I have not seen ir yet, but i already know I'm going to like it. Nice Brad
Let me know after you watch it :)
Great video, Brad. Good looking dresser.
Glad you dig it!
Lovely dresser and fab card trick, brilliant tip. Thanks for sharing. :-)
Maria H thank you! Hope the trick helps.
Top work well done. Love the hacks for drawer installing especially the card trick.
it's such a simple trick, but works great!
Thanks for the video. I finished my dresser. It was a good project.
Brilliant video. Followed it and downloaded the plans. Built it over the past couple of months, thanks to Brad’s guidance on video my completed piece, while not perfect, was good enough for my wife to accept as house furniture (only my second furniture build). And, yes, mistakes were made :)
Love to hear that!
This looks incredibly perfect! You just got a new subscriber
Thank you for posting this clip. It’s very detailed oriented, easy to follow for a home DIYer like me. The portion about Installing the rails for the drawers and the front of the drawers was especially good. I’m now subscribed!
Great build video! I use iron on edge banding at work and invested in a specialty trimmer. It's a simple tool that takes 3 seconds and you have perfect edges and the best part, I found it at Lowe's next to the countertops.
I love this build, simpleand easy to assemble with some nice trim touches and no fancy joinery.
Beautiful piece. Thanks for sharing your knowledge! 👍
Best card trick!
One of my favorites!
شغل نظيف ومرتب 👍👍👍
I like the way you narrate your videos and I am happy you did not play background music in your video. It is nice to hear the sounds of the tools being usex
Great video as always. I think you might run into some gaps/cracks in the solid wood mitres on the top, once the wood drys out. But then again it might not happen, and is an easy fix anyways.
I'd assume since they are anchored on the edge to the plywood that any shrinkage would occur towards the plywood, thus actually pulling them tighter. But we'll just see how it goes :) Thanks!
That makes good sense
Great clean project! For some reason I like making drawers! haha
Making Stuff I used to like it. Need a break now though 😂😂
hahaha!
Oh? You’re invited over anytime.
Really really nice! One of the best. Thanks for including the details. I learned few tricks watching your video. 👍
Gorgeous work, mate. Top quality.
Looks awesome Brad! 👍👊 ..... Under bevel really makes the top! 👌
Thanks, Fred! I agree about the under bevel 👍
Card idea was very unique! Thanks for the tips!
Nice job Brad!
Thanks, Jeremy!
Another great project. Thanks!
Any specific reason why you don't use 1/2" plywood for the drawer sides? Seems like it would be fine structurally and save some material cost.
I am courious too.
I like the most the kitchen improvement
Beautiful dresser, Brad!
Thank you!
I have built two of these for grandsons so far.
Nice clean build. Doesn't look hard to do at all. Our business is moving soon and I'll need new office furniture. Can use this and not make it as wide for a filling cabinet:)
Amazing drawer, I'm building one and can take a couple of tips from your video
I've got a whole video on it too! czcams.com/video/Ilda2kqORZI/video.html
This is great! It only cost me $100 dollars for supplies and $35,000 for tools.
That was awesome enough for me so I’m subscribing to make sure I catch more. Cheers for sharing
Thanks for the sub 👍
What a symple and beautyfull...
Very good looking dresser. Thanks for sharing
thanks, Richard!
Honestly, you make the best videos.
Thanks so much!
Love this video, it came out amazing! Huge request...can you please make a simple easy to follow dog house? Nothing fancy but I would love to try and make one myself. Keep up the great videos!!!
Hey, Nichole! I don't have a dog, so probably not gonna see one from me :)
Fix This Build That ok🙁
You get a like for the card trick, bravo!

Dope video man I did a built in for my daughter back before I got a table saw doesn't look bad just could look way better cheers! U have me motivated
Excellent work! My daughter wants a new bedroom set that costs $3K. After watching your video, I bet I can use that as the basis for the entire bedroom set and DIY it myself. Once I'm ready to get started, I'll purchase the plans from you. Keep up the great vids! *Subscribed.
Very good! I like your card trick! Thank you.
You're welcome, Robert
Great build Brad! I have been wanting to build something similar using old wine crates. You have provided some get tips. Thanks for posing
That's a real nice quality build!!
ABSOLUTELY LOVELY WORK.
SARA FROM
PAKISTAN.
thank you!
excellent technique to install the drawers. Thanks For sharing your knowledge
Nice work as usual Brad.
Excellent job.
You keep flaunting that deck of cards and everyone is gonna think you're a card shark...and no...I don't play poker... ;)
Nice build, Brad! Your daughter ought to use this for many, many years to come. So many in fact, it'll probably go through several color changes. :)
I used to play a lot of cards actually (before kids😀). And could definitely see this pink or purple one day
You got a like and a new subscriber at 10:10 when you showed us the card trick. Amazing!
You make it look so easy LOL
This was great to watch. I feel like I can go build this right now. (I can’t build this due to lack of skills but I think I can. Lol)

Angie Overton thank you!
That card trick is the coolest thing ever. Never would've thought of that. Sorry if I missed it but what wood are you using for your dimensional lumber?
Steven I'm using select pine from Home Depot. It's expensive but ready for paint right away and no knots
