  • 90 year old LISTER ENGINE Part3
In a series of videos from Quinta Fonte da Pipa. Real Portuguese farm life.
Today in Part3 Alex fixes the broken pump ready to be fitted to the repaired pipes you will see in Part 4 which will be the Final episode in this small series.
Some time ago a large pine tree fell breaking our pump, so we are taking the opportunity to renovate the running 90 year old Lister Engine that runs the water pump.
The stationary engine is a Lister CS 12-2.

Follow us as we renovate the building around our old bread oven and other buildings on the farm with natural materials, re-building and planting the vegetable patch after the fire destroyed it all.
Building the goats new sheds, our days with the goats, births and milking them.
Molly making soaps and many types of cheeses from our own goats milk.
Watch what we grow, getting water back on the farm, daily farm life and chores, visiting local sites and showing you the local area.

Good job for the weld, I know how tough Cast can be.

Thanks, i was worried it would just fall apart again but it is fine, the pipes and large blue taps above it are not supported and are extremely heavy so the weld is holding all that up... so far so good.
Have had some issues with the pump sucking in air from the 'packing' around the pump shaft... i cant get tools in there to measure so it is hard to find the right waxed cord to get a good seal, i am trying a few different diameters until i find the right one.

Fantastic Job, I am sure most of us would have hesitated or not even attempted what you have managed to repair on this pump.

Why are you letting the goats destroy your fruit tree’s?
